Dr. Vega is an amazing veterinarian! She is so caring and compassionate with my pets. She treats them as if they were her very own. I would give zero stars if possible. Carla Vega was inhumane, unproffesional and blatantly rude. We took our cat in to get a rabies shot and a health certificate. We told the verternarian clinic on the phone the night before that our cat is skiddish and has anxiety issues. What does she do? She throws a towell on top of our cat, (scaring her) throws gloves on and tries to grab her . She’s scared to death, runs under the couch. Then.... our cat runs under the couch to hide. What does Carla do? She starts moving the couch and kicking at my cat.... Are you serious?!?!?!?! Final result from her unprofessionalism? She ends up getting scratched and calls Animal Control on my cat. So the end result? Our cat who has extreme anxiety when my wife and I aren’t around her is now stuck in the pound for ten days due to this ladies unprofessionalism and inhumane actions. This is a heartless individual. I absolutely love the veterinarian and the staff. They are very personable and ultra compassionate. I know they are passionate about animals without a doubt. I trust them. I have an English Bull Terrier named Odin. He is quite a handful and when I bring him in, they know how to treat him. Other places have been intimidated. All he is, is a goofy, happy clown and they know that.  I have boarded him there as well. When I get him back he is happy and squeeky clean. I also had an English Bull Terrier named Thor. He was my first pup and I loved him as if he were my child. I lost him to lymphoma at age 5. I was extremely emotional and a loud, sobbing wreck when I had to put him down. I had to leave the room because I was stressing him out. My husband stayed by his side. The veterinarian and her assistant made sure that his last moments were calm and painless. They even remember Thor to this day and that happened 3 years ago. Just that makes me know they really care about what they do there. I am rambling on, I know,  but I will never go anywhere else with my family.  Trust is hard to come by these days. I have never been disappointed here. Read Less

We called around to get an emergency appointment for our cat to several places. They were able to get us in within an hour. After examining and being very gentle with our baby girl they explained to us the severity of her situation and that she needed to be put to sleep. They were very gracious and considerate. They allowed me to hold her during the process and were for consoling. For a last minute emergency situation I was surprised that we found such a good office. Despite the circumstances it went better than we could have expected. Will return to this office. Read Less

We sadly had to put our dog of 14 years down and this office made it the most traumatic experience. First they took forever, making us obviously more upset. Once they got in there, a lady tried putting a catheter in our sweet corgi and missed the vein 3 times, each time making our dog more and more scared and cry and yelp. Which in turn really made upset. When it was our dogs time he was completely terrified, shaking and crying. To know our dog left this world in complete fear kills us. If I could give them zero stars, I would. Called this morning to get my dogs seen since she was coughing all night and suspected kennel cough. They scheduled me at 4pm and was informed not to be late or else I won't be seen. I got there a few minutes before 4. Front desk (Carla) very rude, telling me to leave the facility and put my dog in the car since she might have kennel cough. It's 97 degrees!! put the dog in the car to get a heat stroke?? Asked if I could hang outside the facility, was told no, since she didn't want my dog spreading anything and they didn't have a room ready for me! Asked how long it would be before they have a room for me, her response " I have no idea, it's very busy and we are behind"... If you schedule me at 4 pm and know that my dog might have kennel cough, you should have a room ready for me and not rudely tell me to put my dogs in the car when it's 97 degrees outside. Walked out and will take my dogs else where! Horrible customer service. Will never come back or recommend this place to anyone! Read Less

Very disappointed with them, after having many extraordinary Vets in our time.  A) they pushed vaccines way to hard and gave me ultimatums on vaccines that are not crucial in order for me to board them. B)  after trusting our pups in their boarding facility found out that there is no play area and no social time... they just stay in kennels C) and the last straw:  I use the freedoms allowed me to find the most cost effective ways to keep my pets healthy ie. flea/tick/heartworm meds.. which they should SUPPORT. Our last vet made this process simple by faxing in the RX necessary directly to our online supplier.  This one in no uncertain or kind terms let me know they DO NOT mail in or fax for me and pushed their own more expensive in house supplier Vetsource on me instead.  I think NOT.  I have already chosen a new Vet and they have already sent over the RX to get my dogs the meds to keep them healthy.  Thats a real vet-- one who actually cares about the welfare of pets and not their bottom line.  SHAMEFUL!! I recently took my 2 dogs in for dental cleanings. I like that dental x-rays were done because they showed a fractured tooth and bone loss that would have likely been missed otherwise. Dr. Vega and Kristina kept me informed while my girls were under their care. I felt comfortable with and confident in Dr Vega's recommendations. Dr. Vega has been my dogs vet for over 5 years, she has helped my boys through cancer surgery and many other procedures. I don't trust many vets with my boys as I am huge on my boys being treated like they are my children and not like just a patient. She is very professional but also caring and hugs and plays with my boys each time she sees them. I highly recommend her. Let her know how you want your animals treatment to go and she will do it. My cat has a chronic allergy problem that leads to URIs. I've been through all the over the counter meds and she still gets sick. Previous vet didn't have any other suggestions and the antibiotic didn't totally clear the URI. This vet had better meds that totally cleared up her nose and a injectable antibiotic that lasts 2 weeks and cleared up the URI. Also a probiotic that may have helped kick the problem to the curb. Much happier kitty now. AND these guys have really good customer service. They sent my cat a birthday card and called to check on her 3 weeks after our visit. I appreciate their extended hours (7:30 to 6) as well because I have a long commute. Read Less

I don't just like Northwest, I love them. When my old sweet dog was passing away we went here on a referral from our rescue. Dr. Jacobs was incredible in her care of our sweet dog. Now, as our other dogs age, we have been taking them as well. The staff is amazing, the doctors are wonderful. When our sweet girl finally passed, we got a package from the hospital with foot prints and a card signed by everyone in the office. I opened it and just cried. I was so touched.Read Less

This place really went to crap after Dr. Kennon left. We had been bringing our pets here for years when, about a year ago, my mom's Great Dane suddenly had an intestinal issue and had to be put to sleep- the vet came out to the car with the techs and she was just so incredibly rude and short-tempered. They were annoyed that they had to wait while we carried a 150 pound sick dog from the car to the exam room, then dismissed us by saying, "You can't be in here until the end." We had to wait in the waiting room for fifteen minutes while they "prepared" her, then we were finally able to come back in at the last minute. I know it was an unexpected visit, but there weren't even any condolences from the staff as my mom cried, (although they did send a card later). The only staff person who exhibited any pleasantries was the office manager who accepted payment for the services. It was just a completely different experience from when Dr. Kennon had to put our Golden Retriever down several years prior. When it was time to put down a beloved seventeen year old cat this week, we knew we had to find a new clinic. We went to Georgetown Veterinary Hospital, the staff was so compassionate and amazing. It just reiterated what a terrible experience we had with the new owner at Northwest, so I was compelled to come share about the experience. When we moved to Georgetown, one of our concerns was to find a vet that would care for our Golden/Yellow Lab mix. True, she is a dog, but she is Gracie, a member of our family that we had rescued, and we care for her a great deal. We need not have worried!! She has had all sorts of shots, teeth cleaned, toenails clipped and all sorts of care. When we take her there, she can't wait to get out of the car and in the office. I tried at least 4 other vets before I found this clinic.  My dog is a service dog and I'm an RN so I expect a place to be clean, tidy, with staff available who are willing to help.  The other places I had been to weren't up to snuff, and frankly not clean at all.  These women are definitely on top of their practice.  The staff are kind, caring, and go out of their way to assist me.  The place is clean and well kept.  My dog even likes going there!  The veterinarians have been amazing!  They have helped me treat my very allergic dog and always listen to my questions and provide thorough answers.  They are also very compassionate and gentle with my dog.I am so thankful that I found this clinic.  I've been taking my dog there for over three years now and couldn't be more pleased.
