The staff at the Animal Clinic of Grand Prairie are all very nice people. They work hard on every case that comes in there doors. They care about you and your pets as if they are part of your family. If your down and out and you don’t have a lot of money. I’d encourage you to call and speak to Dr Sheets and just explain things as best you can. WOW! This place is definitely WOW! I was nervous to bring my dog here yesterday late afternoon. But after I did I never regretted it!!! I was so worried about my big old almost 100lb dog and hoping his ear infection was not too bad since it looked pretty bad. The vet that attended us was super nice!!! The staff loved our dog and took care of the dog first! Patient first! Which is important because they were more worried about his well being than any other vet place. I am coming here now as my primary vet for my dog. The cost was not too costly. Since I bought some heart worm medicine along with his actual medicine nothing more than 200$ which is good in my book since most amazing vet places like this have you pay 300-500+$. The ladies here are so helpful.. they remember me and my pup even though we have only been there a handful of times.. I even called to ask a question once and the next time I came in (weeks later) the tech asked how my pup was doing and if the issue resolved on its own... They're ALL loving knowledgeable, and understanding everything you want from a vet!! They took such great care of my dog. Our normal vets office doesn't do surgery so we were referred here. My guy got a grass awn embedded in the web of his paws and needed surgery. Sad but this is true, people be aware. This Veterinarian clinic is a disaster, It killed one of my mom's English Bull Dogs by giving it its regular yearly immunization. After the dog's regular yearly exam and the immunization the Bull Dogs stomach turned over and she died. I read about it and I understood that occasionally something like this could happen so I did not write a review at that time. My mother is 84 years old and trusted these people with the animals she loves so much. I didn't want her to go to this clinic because this clinic had already given me a wrong diagnosis for one of my dogs in the past and I had to visit the same surgical center to get the right information. I live in California but my daughter has been helping my mother with the puppy.Mom gets a new puppy bull dog the puppy was playing and running in the back yard and jumped and landed on a metal flower bed divider she was rushed once again to Animal Clinic of Grand Prairie. The nightmare begins with the Tech taking an ex-ray of the wrong leg. Telling my mother it would be best to take her home to heal natural because she was just a puppy. 4 weeks later I told mom to take her back because she had no use of her leg. Dr. Sheets met my mother, this was the first time he was involved. Tried to tell my mother that they ex-rayed the right leg and there were words. My mom finally gets in for an appointment with Dallas Veterinarian Surgical Center in SouthLake, the puppy had a 5 hour surgery yesterday she is in recovery right now but because of the extended time waited and the amount of scar tissue that built up in the time of not being treated the little girl will never walk properly again. It was when they sent her home instead of sending her to a specialist immediately. There was a several month span of nothing being done because my mother believed in the Grand Prairie clinic and now the puppy will never walk without a limp.The stupidity of Dr. Sheets techs are unbelievable. You are only as good as the people you hirer. A total disaster the only nice thing about it was they didn't charge my mother for killing her older bull dog or for not giving the right diagnosis for the puppy. The charge of the specialty surgery at Dallas veterinarian Surgical Center in South Lake was $3500.00 for the puppy and she has to spend 2 months in a small cage day and night only coming out for back yard breaks. The incompetence of Animal Clinic Center of Grand Prairie's technicians is unacceptable, thanks for not charging us it's the least you could do. Read Less

Never been to a vet clinic because I am afraid of dogs but Bryan my cat needed care . We found this place that was referred to us by Mitza thank you angel, This was a diamond we found when looking all over for a clinic for our pet. They are open Saturday's , take walk ins, compassionate and caring people and the prices are excellent. They do everything a one stop shop so awesome I will be sharing on Facebook with all my friends and family for a excellent job well done. The vet at Grand Prairie animal clinic on belt line, literally tried to rip the puppy box out of my hands. I told him no, and he still tried to pull them away from me. Are you serious?! You have women at the front who were told I am not letting them go back without me, and you send a Mr clean looking roid freak to try and wrestle them away from me??!! All these women up front, and they send a man twice the size of me and my elderly mother. HE didn't even say a word to me until I told him no, and tried to pull the box of puppies back. He literally tried to pull them away from me. When I refused to let go of MY puppies, he threw his hands in the air, like a giant baby, and said "Fine. Go." This is unacceptable behavior, and I am reporting it to the licensing bureau. No way could someone that aggressive be legally working with animals. Years of going here, having animals die in their care, when they were brought in for a simple spay or neuter. All my life, we called Doc Wilson, Doctor Death. At least Wilson never assaulted me. I have been going there my entire life. My parents have used them for 40 years. They docked tails on some Maltese puppies, that were brought in for dew claws. I had obvious and verified fears of leaving them alone with my puppies. NEVER AGAIN. I don't trust them to even buy dog food from them.Read Less

My dog had to have surgery done and I was super nervous. The staffs were very friendly and informed me what all needed to be done. Dianne did the surgery and she was really nice and helpful. She did an excellent job in explaining to me why certain things had to be done and what wasn't necessary. She took care of my dog and made sure he was comfortable as possible. Read Less

I just took my dog there for thr first time this morning. He had several broken ribs and the staff made sure he was comforted while I freaked out. Never been to a vet so caring and so supportive. They didn't help one of my dogs with out $$ upfront bad for business cared more about my ability to pay for services than the care of my dog who need immediate care and then told my teenager they were gonna put him down either way they just wanted to give my teenager time tocsay goodbye. they let my dog suffer for over 2 hours without medical attention and then charged me a fortune for no services rendered I would never go there again even to get my other pets shots. I'm not happy with your grooming services. They cut my puppy a few times. He left frightened and cuts on his private parts. Now his private parts look like they can get infected from the big cut they left. If he was "matted" like they claimed, which he wasn't. Why didn't the groomer inform me of the scabs? I came here for some shots for my dog.  I appreciated that I did not have to make an appointment (though I did have to wait in the waiting room a while, which is to be expected).  The waiting area was comfortable and none of the animals seemed to be in distress.  Once in the examination room, the shots were quick and we were on our way.  My dog was not upset in the least.  I definitely plan to return. I have mixed feelings after taking my cat to be spayed. We brought in all her shots records and they still gave her two vaccines she already had (she had just gotten them less than a week prior) and they said they had some miss communication among them and could not refund our money. They did give us credit for the next time we take her in which I'm not sure if I trust them enough for. We have been going to this clinic way before Dr. Sheets was the owner, back when Dr. Bob Wilson owned the clinic and for as long as I can remember we never had a problem with them. What I would suggest is that they get better customer service cause the times that I have called up there to set an appointment the lady sounds so rude. And when I have taken my Aussie there I have never been greeted! The staff that they had prior was amzing! I remeber Dr. Eddie and how great of a vet she was. We dont mind spending the money on our pets if we can afford it but last time they charged us over 800 cause they werent sure if my Aussie had parvo or not. I will only take my dogs to this clinic. They have excellent customer service and great pricing! I moved to Denton a year ago, and will still continue to only take my dogs here. Wonderful experience from start to finish!! I had to take my cat in for a surgery and I was really worried, so worried in fact, I was crying while dropping her off. The receptionists were so sweet and comforted me while I calmed down, they also assured me my sweet cat was in good hands. They let me know they would call me after surgery, which they did, and that I could also visit her. Which was a big perk for me!I also spoke to the Vet and Nurses on different visits and each time I was comforted with their knowledge and that my cat was being well taken care of. They even sent me a follow-up postcard which only elevated my feeling that I picked the right place for my baby to go to! I don't usually Yelp a lot, only if I am really impressed. Thank you for the compassion shown during the final hours of our Misty's life. I adopted her from the shelter a few years ago. She loved our son Jimmy. She didn't become "his cat" so much as he became "her boy". She would sit at the door or window and yowl for him when he'd go outside, sometimes until he came back inside. He built her a cat tree and even built a bird feeder outside her favorite window, so she could watch the birds outside. Being an "inside only" cat, she really enjoyed that. The past few weeks were hard for her as the effects of the cancer rapidly progressed and she was in constant pain and declining health. I talked with Jimmy about hard decisions and loving her enough to let her go. After a particularly bad night last night, he tearfully agreed she needed release from her pain and the decision was made today to euthanize. I called Animal Clinic of GP and they compassionately explained the procedure and our options, both from an emotional and financial positions. They were gracious giving us time to say final goodbyes, and allowing us keep her on her own blankets. They encouraged my son to hold her and talk to her. She never took her eyes off his tearful ones, as she peacefully passed away, cradled in his arms. We will miss you, Misty.
