I have two pitties and a small terrior. They always remember my dogs by name. I’ll stop by for something and they ask for them by name. My pitties adore the vet and the techs. They know my dogs needs and have always made accommodations for them. Not all vets are good with pitties so I’m glad I found a vet who loves big breed dogs. Read Less

Horrible experience!! I would not recommend this place and I'm an animal lover. I took my boy because he had a few lumps on his body. They told me it would cost $800 for surgery. They also did a really bad job cleaning his ears. The medicine they prescribed was slowly killing my dog!! I took him to the country vet in harlingen a few days later because he was looking more dead than alive they told me the lumps were not cancerous and they would charge me $100, IF I wanted remove them. They said my dog got a really bad ear infection after the bad job they did at Furry Friends cleaning his ears. He was in so much pain. And they told me the medicine was too strong and wasn't FDA approved. If I had continued giving it to him for more than 2 days he would be dead. Needless to say I will never go back. That vet visit was the worst experience of my life. I love my dogs!!! I'm a very honest person that is the reason in sharing my testimony. That vet only cares about making money!!! I'm so happy I took my dog to get a second opinion and he is doing so much batter!! I spent $200 at furry friends and $80 at country vet with my dog completely healed. Country vet was packed with people and their pets..I was the the only client at furry friends. All signs of their horrible service. True testimony please share!!! Please don't make the same mistake I did!! If you love your pet don't take him/her to Furry Friends Animal hospital. I have never written a bad review but I just had to share..this place should be closed!!! Read Less

Was looking for a vet for my hamster Phil, but after reading Ms. Flores post I am going to look else where. I read the comment that was added by the Vets office and that is no excuse if she got there 5 mins or 2 mins with her pet. You all could of at least seen the animal as a courtesy to the customer and the pet. that is so horrible to hear. Doesn't seem like you all care to much about the animals well being. Shame on you. Went to Furry Friends Animal Hospital 15 minutes before they closed with my sick dog and they refused to see him. I asked if the vet was still in and the receptionist went to the back, spoke to a male and came back and said they couldn't see my sick dog. Seems to me the vet doesn't care about animals and only wants to make a quick buck. Will never go there again and will certainly discourage people from going. Read Less

I took my female rabbit to get sprayed here and I give it a 4 out of 5 stars because they don't have much experience with rabbits. The receptionist/technician will tell you to NOT feed your rabbit after midnight prior to the appointment so they will recite you the rules for dogs and cats spraying/neuter post and pre-op. Seriously I had a full discussion with the same technician on the phone and when I showed up at the office about whether or not the rabbit should be feed. You will not be able to talk to the veterinarian rabbit specialist because they told me that he is a mobile veterinarian and he only comes once a week per month to this hospital. And if you ask for his cell phone they will tell you that they "can't give his personal information". Nevertheless, I booked an appointment with them and I did end up following their instructions (against my better judgment) so I didn't feed her after midnight although I made sure she was had plenty to eat up until midnight (gave her all the greens, pellets and hay she desired). Also here in the RGV there are only 2 places that I could find that will do spray/neutering for rabbits (I can reassure you I called a lot of clinics) and they are Furry Friends Animal Hospital and North 10th Street Animal Hospital. I choose Furry Friends Animal Hospital because they cost way less then North 10th Street Animal Hospital. Furry Friends Animal Hospital charged me $145 for everything including the procedure, and Baytril injectable. They didn't give me any pain medication and I asked she could have some but they told me she didn't need it. North 10th Street Animal Hospital was going to charge $425 and I still need to begin her for a check up before they could schedule an appointment costing $125 plus I asked the technicians/receptionist the pre and post op rules and they give me the same dog/cat rules so that told me they there unexperienced too. They will tell that the reason why you reframe from giving food is because of the vomiting reflex but rabbits don't have a vomiting reflex and refraining from giving rabbits food will only hurt they since it could cause them to develop GI stasis and liver damage. http://www.bio.miami.edu/hare/opcare.html (For more information on the proper pre- and post-op rules for rabbits). This was the first time I had my rabbit sprayed and I followed their rules because I, myself was inexperienced. If I could do it again I would have given her food and not let her starve because she didn't want to eat for almost 12 hours and this is very dangerous for rabbits, they need to maintain an active GI tract. I was very scared but I stayed with her and was giving her lot of love and trying to get her to eat after 11 hours she finally ate a little bit of pellets but it was something. She is now good and her wound healed properly although the first 3 days were a little touch and go in addition she didn't move for a couple of days. I did like that they wanted to know her progress so they will ask to bring them in again so they can check the wound after the first week then on the next two weeks and a month later thus a total of 3 check ups and they are free. Overall, the staff is friendly and the office was very nice and if I do end up getting another rabbit I would have it spray or neutered here I just personally wouldn't refrain from feeding my rabbit. This place is a dream come true. Dr. Alexis and his staff are very knowledgable. The office is clean and welcoming and the prices are extreamly reasonable. My puppies are my children and mean the world to me. Dr. Alexis has never rushed me out and has always taken the time to answer all my questions. He's gone above and beyond in making himself available if I had any concerns of any kind. I feel he's not the typical "cold" vet. He's always concerned about my puppies well being and feelings as well as mine. I have been to other vets and they treat my puppy like they dont feel pain and they do not seem concerned what so ever. The Vet Assistant that mans the front desk is also amazing, she really knows her stuff. This place is a dream come true because a place like this allows us to ensure our pets get the care they need and what's best is that we can afford it without feeling financially stressed. Thank you for that. Keep up the great work. Read Less
