On April 16 2018, I had taken in my 3 new born puppies they are 5 weeks old German Shepherds. Most clinics I called recommended for me to wait for 6 weeks for the vaccines. Pet Care Veterinary told me to take them in they would be more then glad to see my puppies and get them started on their shots. Within 7 hours of leaving that place. My 5 week old German shepherd puppy was just lying there having a hard time breathing and started gasping for air. Before I had noticed that his breathing wasnt normal, so I brought it up to the vet. His excuse was that he has a lot of fur and explains why he’s breathing hard that he looks fine nothing to worry about. Then tell me why my puppy died within 7 hours of getting vaccinated????? He was fine running around and now he’s dead thanks to this doctor. I would recommend to find a new vet! ASAP. Read Less

Great experience, I highly recommend. My dog was going to become paralyzed so after many vets I tried this one. He knew exactly what was wrong, helped my dog right away, and prevented surgical intervention. Very thankful to have an amazing and friendly vet close by. Read Less

I just wanted to say that they are super nice and really professional. The Vet is great, he is honest and won't do anything unless its absolutely necessary. My baby Gizmo passed away while he was there. The doctor tried to save him but he was just too sick to save. A few days later I received a card from them saying how sorry they were that my baby passed away. They all signed it. It really helped knowing that they cared enough to send me a card. No other vet office has ever done that for me. So yea they are great. Read Less

DO NOT take your pets here. I took my beautiful 2 month old cat here to get neutered (A very simple procedure in which you don't expect any backlash) only to get a call an hour later to find out he past away. I was furious, I loved my cat and he was family. Not only that, but Dr. Jones decided to crack a smile and chuckle as he said "I thought I could do it". Extremely unprofessional. Took in two healthy cats for spaying. They called that one had an allergic reaction to the anesthesia. Doesn't make sense. The other one, which was a litter mate and the runt of the litter, survived. Dr. Joines said this only happens every 4 to 5 years. I have seen reviews as recent as weeks ago that five month old cat died while being spayed and owner was told he had a virus, which the owner said the cat had no symptoms. Is this a pattern? I'd take my pets elsewhere if I were you. I think there is neglect and no caring about pets there. They don't know what they're doing with anesthesia in this clinic!! Read Less

We had a very sad experience at this place. My son took his 5 months old cat to get neuter. He was a perfectly healthy pet, had all the vaccinations and was an indoor kitten. An hour and a half after he dropped him in the doctor called to say that he had passed. He mentioned that probably he had a virus and was weak and he was going to die of the virus anyway(the cat showed absolutely no symptoms of being distressed, sick or weak, and if the doctor thought he was weak why operating in the first place). I believe it was negligence. This was supposed to be a common procedure. I checked in the internet the symptoms of the virus and he had none. I do not recommend this place based on my experience and that of many others that I have talked to after the death of our beloved cat. Read Less

You can tell that the staff doesn't put up with BS, but I've always had a good experience here. Just make sure you get explained the costs of any medication or treatments before you agree. Otherwise, if it was open on weekends I would've given it 5 stars.Read Less

Took my dog to have his hair cut at this location. Everything went really smoothly and they even brushed his teeth! The prices is so so, because there are several drug groomers that charge a lot less, and do just as good a job.Read Less

I took my guinea pig on 2 occasions. His activity levels were down and he wasn't eating like he would normally. On the first visit the vet said that it could be that he was getting older and thus would be not as active, he got a vitamin shotnd a left. The day after that visit I noticed that he was not using the restroom and had stopped drinking water, we took him back and he was diagnosed with lung infection he was given several shots and drops as antibiotics. Turns out that the antibiotic wasn't meant for guinea pigs!! The antibiotic perscribed is actually harmful and sometimes even deadly. He stopped moving and didnt want to walk anymore. I've never been so dissapointed with a Vet clinic. 2 appointments and $120 later and my guinea pig was never given the proper medical attention he needed. This vet care may be great with dogs or cats but not small animals. If you're considering taking your small animal, don't! ! I recommend Banfield Pet Hospital in Mcallen. They were very professional and the doctor knew exactly what he was doing and talking about. Read Less

Everything April had stated is a mirror image of my horrible experience. I told rude assistant that I'd like to speak to vet . Since I was floored by staff rude and unprofessional attitude. When he came forward I gave him the opportunity to comfort my concerns and he only sided with rude assistant. At that time I got sick to my stomach and told him that it was evident that he wasn't the man in charge of this office but his rude assistant was. HORRIBLE service with a capital H. The staff there do not care. They are very rude. I took my pup in because she wasn't feeling good. I thought it was due to a frog/toad she ate. They charged me $280 for ??? I have no clue. They sent her home with eye drops and gave her something for nausea. I attempted to complain to the VET about their services and he could care less. He allows his staff to be unprofessional and rude! Bad for business in my opinion. Ayways, 6 hours later my 8 month old pup was feeling even worse so we drove her to Mcallen ER for pets and it turned out she had parvo. Why they didn't test her at Pet Care is beyond me? I took my poor cat for a spay and boarded her for one night and they left her in there ALL DAY AND NIGHT until I picked her up the next day at 12:30, she was covered in her own pee and poop, I was so pissed. Lady that helped me was extremely rude and should not work with animals if they don't know how to handle them. Charged me $20 as an "aggression fee" uh duh she's aggressive she doesn't know you and you're cutting her open! This clinic advertises low cost spay/neuter. I called for a quote and was told it would be $125 for my 80 lb rescue dog to be neutered and $35 to be tested for heart worms. I agreed to these prices and my 16 year old son dropped our dog off the following day. I called twice to check on our dog and reminded the staff that my 16 yr old would be picking our dog up after surgery. I wanted to make sure he did well in surgery and wanted his heartworm test results which I received over the phone. When my son went to pick up our dog the bill was $630. The staff was extremely rude and Dr. Joines refused to speak with us when we confronted them regarding this horrendous bill. BUYER BEWARE. DO NOT USE THIS CLINIC. Read Less

Picked puppy up from here after purchasing from Humane Society. It used to be required that the dog be spayed immediately before picking up for the first time. Ummm my puppy was only a few weeks old and they spayed her!!! I did not realize this was a problem until later ..I noticed the puppy was shaking on and off at night in my bed, decided to change vets and she was diagnosed with distemper. The vet felt so bad for me that no one had caught it, he also relayed to me about how its not ok to spay a puppy BEFORE 6 months(she was only a few weeks old)!!!!! oh but they noticed a ""protein definciency"" immediately requiring the purchase of fancy science diet from there. They must have missed the random shaking, clear signs of distemper i now know. Anyhow, my friends cat went there for a spay, came out ""asleep,"" they told her not to wake her up since she was fine in her pet taxi, to let her wake up on her own. When the cat didnt wake, my friend finally woke her up and to her surprise the cat was stiff and dead..meaning the cat had died at the vet if she was already stiff a few hours after. Read Less
