Dr Judd Is Compassionate and caring not only for your animal but for you the pet owner. I will never forget how he was called for Jury duty and had to cancel his appointments that day but made time and came in afterward at the end of the day to give my dog a test for cancer to get it in sooner so we could get the results sooner. I have many animals and I can't begin to tell you how good Dr. Judd is with them. He is very good. I have been taking my dog Molly here for 2 years. Recently she got into the trash and ate the contents. This caused a blockage of the intestine, and she eventually had to have surgery. She did not make it unfortunately, but Dr. Judd was so unbelievable in the way he handled Molly. He was willing to keep her overnight and make trips up to the clinic all night to check on her. Went to see Dr. Judd for the very first time. I was very impressed with him. The Doctor explained to me in layman terms what was probably going on with him. With this Doctor, I could actually tell that he really cares for this animal as if it were his own. I have 5 dogs and 8 cats and you can be sure that Dr. Judd will be my main Vet for now on. As for the staff, they were SUPER. The girls were great that were helping him. They too had a lot of patience. Debra at the front desk is such delight. She will answer all your questions and if she doesn't know, ask the Doctor. Also one big factor for me that I have never seen before at a veterinary office was when we were finished, I received a detailed report of Doctor's notes and all the information that was done and needs to be done. For about the past 8 years, we have relied on Dr. Judd and his wonderful staff to provide medical care to the most valued members of our family - our dogs, our cats, and our horses. Dr. Judd is one of the most knowledgeable, experienced, caring, compassionate and loving veterinarians we have ever known. Dr. Judd's staff are also a true reflection of his care and love for animals. Several years ago, God brought us to a poor starving yellow lab who had been abandonded. The labs owners had left him under a wooden trailer porch after they moved their mobile home away. The lab was so traumatized and afraid he had lost his will to live and his will to eat making him very difficult to catch. He was a rack of bones in need of a lot of medical care when we took him in to Dr. Judd. We named him Boo after the character in the movie, "To Kill a Mocking Bird". With Dr. Judd's help we were blessed to nurse Boo back to health and gave him all our love and a forever home until he recently crossed over the rainbow bridge. I just wanted to post a story in praise of Dr. Judd and his team. It has been about 4 years ago ( I think) that I was in California and my husband called and said my beautiful 2 yr old palomino quarter horse filly " Princess" was down and he couldn't get her up! Of course I was devastated and my husband was doing all he could, calling several vets and all were swamped that hot august day. Dr Judd finally agreed to come out even tho he was so busy and he and my husband were able to get her up one last time and in the trailer. Then when they got to his clinic they had to drag her on a tarp to get her inside. She never stood again and no matter what this wonderful vet tried he could not get her on her feet again. But what he and his assistants did was treat her with lots of love and compassion during this time- and I will be forever grateful since I could not be there. This filly was my pride and joy, and even tho we had to put her to sleep I know that everyone did all they could! This meant a lot to me since I was so far away! Dr. Judd and his superior staff have continuously over the past 10 years provided the best preventative care as well as care in crisis. In traveling through Texas one of our Great Danes became very sick.  We found this veterinary clinic and had to trust their judgement - a scary thing far away from home.  My wife and I found Dr. Judd to be really down to earth and knew his stuff.  We are pretty picky about care for our giant dogs.  only later we found out he was a board certified veterinary doctor, pretty rare, but shows a great amount of extra study.  Anyway our Taylor had a stress related gastritis (we thought might be bloat) and he gave her meds and watched her for a few hours and we were on our way.  We loved his manner and friendly style.  Thank you Dr. Judd and staff, you helped our girl and kept us on our way!  Good luck to all. Judd Vet Clinic is NOT the place to take your beloved pet.  Dr. Judd doesn't tell you about very important findings on the diagnostic tests he performs. My dog was LUCKY...I took her to another vet for a second opinion and that vet informed me of ALL the crucial findings of those tests.  Dr. Judd leaves you in the dark.....completely......and just continues to lead you towards more testing.....at his discretion.   When you ask him where all his testing is going, and why  a particular test is needed.....he tells you he doesn't have time to delve into it right now.  I got the distinct impression that he wasn't interested in a partnership with me with regards to my dog's health.  His wife Deborah, the office mgr., definitely lets you know that she's irked with you if you want to get medicine for your dog cheaper at petmeds or your local pharmacy.  Her speech gets a little "clipped" and her body language a little jerky.....and I picked up on that display of diapproval.    I think she just wants you to buy meds with their clinic ..I suppose they must make a nice profit off of them.  These happenings were  what drove me to another vet.   My new vet performed targeted and specific testing which saved some money and TALKED to me regarding options we could take as well as what was going on with my dog.....what I needed to worry about and what I didn't need to worry about.    That took allot of my fears away.....knowing what we were doing, why we were doing it, and what we were looking at in terms of costs.  As long as my dog didn't have a problem, the "Judds " wer fine.  It was when my dog started having some chronic issues that my association with Judd Vet Clinic went downhill.....and I had been taking my dog there for quite a few years.  So, be forwarned. This doctor's negligent treatment of my first furr-brother caused his untimely death.Dr. Judd ignored blood test results multiple times showing that his kidney levels were elevated as early as August 2002.  In March 2003, when our Lhasa was in too much pain... we called a mobile vet who took more blood tests and diagnosed Kidney Failure.  He was gone the next day.Had Dr. Judd done ANYTHING he was supposed to do, and told us about the elevated blood results 9 months earlier, we could have and would have done anything and everything to help our baby.We now have two more Lhasas, and wouldn't take them to Dr. Judd if he was the last vet in town... a quick drive to Dallas or Austin would be a better choice than Dr. Judd.
