Yo this place was awesome. They were good with my old dog. Explained everything to me at least 3 times and answered all my dumb and worried questions. I don't recommend this "money maker" to anyone. I called the man that because he is in NO way a Vet. He has zero compassion. You can see it in his eyes & in his actions or there lack of. I took my dying baby in to see this imposter of a Vet & needed 140 bucks for treatment & alls I had on me at the time was 100. I asked if I could bring the 40 back up a little later that day or I could leave my credit card number & he could run it that afternoon & get his 40 f-n dollars. Of course having zero compassion he said no so I had to leave & go get the 40 & bring it back & THEN he would begin treating my baby. Well every second that went by WITHOUT my baby being cared for only worsened her condition & she did eventually die later that day. Hate is such a strong word & emotion but hate isall I feel for that man at this time. I wouldn't of even given him ANY stars but I had too just to be able to leave a comment. I don't want ANYONE to feel the pain that I feel right now so please if you don't have enough money or can't afford treatment for your babies please PLEASE do not go to this place. I want to warn you.... this Veterinarian's office will try to rip you off with every way possible.... I have a cat that needs a special food... the vet told us this food can only be sold there in their office at 4 dollars a can I was shocked. I got home and decided to look up the food once I got home. I found the food on line with Chewy products at 1.60 a can... I was so happy to find out that I will not have to spend 48.00 dollars for 12 cans as I did at the Vet's office. On line I could buy 24 cans at 40.00 dollars but once I placed the order the on line company sends me a email telling me the order was canceled due to the vet's office refused the prescription. When I called the office I was told I could either buy their 4.00 can or pick up a prescription and find another vet. WOW... So I went up to the office and pick up the prescription and found posters all over the inside the office that said " TRY OUR ON LINE WEB FOR YOUR PRESCRIPTION NEEDS" ..... This vet is out to rip you off and that is it.... Don't let this happen to you.... Read Less

Love the Vet and his staff. They always take such great care of my babies. I recently took my almost 15 year old diabetic cat to be shaved, sedated and bathed and found out that he's still in good health. As I worried if he was suffering due to age related illnesses. He no longer grooms himself so I get him shaved once a year. Read Less

I can't say enough about this place! Such great care of my two cats and dog! They handle my 190lb Caucasian Ovcharka dog, Mishka, so well and competently. Dr. Samad is outstanding as is the rest of the staff. They all are fantastic, competent, professional, and you can tell how much they love all animals. Read Less

I have only visited once my pet is my baby all the staff was very nice and was seen fast no waiting around Dr did a exam and checked him thoroughly he didn't just glance he actually took the time to check him out and answered all of my concerns. Avoid this place. Since Dr. Zahn retired it is horrible and the new vet seems uninterested and incompetent. The office staff is unfriendly and unorganized. I wish we could have Dr. Zahn back in Highlands; he was the BEST vet ever, so kind and with a true love of animals. Read Less

First time here only because app was available and my dog was sick . The The vet did not even check any thing on dog didnt run any test and my dog was not drinking losing weight and having seizures and depression. He gave Him a shot without any discussion with me about allergies. I have been taking my dog to Dr. Zahn for the past 4 years. Dr. Zahn retired and I'm not sure what the new vets name is. I thought that since Dr. Zahn took so much pride in his work and that he loved his own and our animals so much that he wouldn't leave his practice to just anyone. So, I decided to give this new guy a chance. I took my miniature dachshund in to get his teeth cleaned and to get him microchipped. Simple enough procedure, right? Well, no so much. First off my wife told them not to microchip him unless they did the teeth cleaning. That was thrown out the window and he was microchipped anyway. They did the preliminary blood work and took his temperature and what not. His test came back with high count of enzymes in his liver and he had a fever so, the teeth cleaning was postponed. We were told that he had to be put on liver medicine for a month and that he had to eat a special kind of food for that time. The visit was $178 and the bag of food was $65. Now, back to the microchip. Long story short, it was botched. He wound up having an immediate reaction to how the chip was implanted, and a knot the size of almost a golf ball formed. He was given a steroid shot to help with that. So, my wife took him home. She was getting ready to head out to San Antonio where I am working and noticed that there was blood/bruising accumulating near the injection sight, so she took him back. They inserted a needle and "air" was pulled out, but they told her that a "blood clot" was broken up. Anyway, the knot went down and she headed out here. Well, 1 day after she was here we noticed that the bruising had spread and that it was now covering a much larger area than previously. It was spreading and we were worried. So, we took him to a highly recommended Animal Hospital here in San Antonio (Becker is the name). They did a full work up on him. Blood work, liver enzymes, checked to see if he had blood clotting problems, heartworms and everything else they could check that may be related to internal bleeding or blood bruising. The veterinarian here basically told us that he has never seen anyone mess up a micro chip procedure this bad because it was such a simple perfected procedure. He said that there was no reason that the needle should have been injected that far into him that it caused a vein to rupture. He also said that his liver enzymes was only 4 points over the norm and that there was no reason that he should be eating the special food. This visit cost us $350 and was well worth it. I only say this to warn everyone of this experience and that we will never be taking him back to this Vet again.Read Less

What will I do when Dr. Zahn retires? I have no clue. He is the only person I truly trust with my dogs. And my dogs are like my children so they are extremley important to me. He is such a caring person and really loves his job. He is always 100% up front on anything, even if it is bad news, which is what I like about him.
