Beechcrest Animal Clinic

Houston, Texas
General Info
Beechcrest Animal Clinic in Houston structures its veterinary services based on physical and emotional nearness by aligning each medical procedure with the pet's body signals and recovery areas across Texas. Every session initiates with spatial consciousness by observing pets' spatial intake behaviors alongside the zones they shun and their rate of pace modulation. The clinic team initiates interaction by assessing fur density and external touch tolerance before progressing to evaluations of oral health, joint range, and abdominal flexibility. An owner's recorded observations receive equivalent consideration alongside recent behaviors such as an animal halting before stairs, alterations in sleeping positions or object guarding patterns, and changes in interaction schedules with family members. Beechcrest Animal Clinic delivers medical mapping services that encompass orthopedic planning alongside cardiovascular listening with hydration tracking plus dermatological checks and immune calibration combined with energy-rest cycles. Procedures maintain organized structures that respect recovery time by allowing even short diagnostic steps to be divided which helps prevent cumulative stress. The adjustment of noise levels scent layering and personnel proximity occurs according to the animal's reactions at each threshold. Post-care recommendations depend on behavioral landmarks which include the duration pets need to return to baseline their chosen refuge spots in the house and the resumption or stalling of social cues. Assistance persists via visual touchpoint records alongside optional sensory behavior debriefs. Beechcrest Animal Clinic delivers veterinary services to Houston and surrounding Texas areas by treating every appointment as a dynamic movement exploration where they interpret pet signals from check-in through each room posture and pause.

I used to bring my dogs here when it was still Dr. Maxon's. Though I was sad to see him go, I still decided it was only fair to give his successor, Dr. Hassan, a chance. He didn't have the same genuine nature and didn't take the time with my dogs as I hoped he would. One of my dogs had an ear infection and after many visits and spending a lot of money on medication, poor Thor was still scratching (sometimes until he bled!) It wasn't until I got a second opinion (after already spending a lot of money already) that I realized it was a whole different issue and took another type of medication to clear it. I have completely switched over from beechcrest, but the positive memories of Dr. Maxon will always remain. Read Less

We took my dog there for a second opinion since my dog had stopped eating and lost a significant amount of weight. Instead of prescribing numerous medications like the first vet, Dr. Hassan ordered labwork in an effort to diagnose my dog. Upon arrival, Dr. Hassan and his staff were really nice and professional. They took the time to explain why the labs were needed and what my dog might have. Sadly, the news was not good, but Dr. Hassan made an effort to treat my dog in an effort to get him better. He was very sincere and professional. He treated my dog and was truthful when my dog showed no signs of improvement. We made the decision to euthanize him. Dr. Hassan and his staff made sure we knew each step in the process and allowed us time in the room to grieve. They even sent us a sympathy card and it was personalized and signed by each member of his staff. Even though our encounter was brief and sad, I was very happy to have taken my Randy to Dr. Hassan. In the future, I will make sure to take my future fur babies to this office. Thanks Dr. Hassan and staff for all you do! Read Less

Initially hard to find, but worth the hunt. Tucked away in an Asian strip center, this is a nice family vet. I've been taking my dog here since she was 2 mos old. She is now 3 1/2 yo. I've always been treated with respect and honesty. Dr. Maxson/Dr. Hassan and the techs take time to get to know the pets and allow them to become comfortable with them. They tell you costs up front. Prices are very reasonable. They call multiple times to check up on my girl when she is sick/post-op to track recovery/changes. I appreciate all their effort. My pup is always happy to see Dr. Hassan and the team. They always leave things on a positive note. Dr. Hassan even escorts me and my pup to my car when it starts to get dark. I highly recommend Beechcrest. Read Less

Honestly, everyone bere was very friendly and they would answer any questions even when i just called in to ask. My dog got better within a few days and they still call to check up on him. Dr. Maxson is an incredible vet! You can tell he and his staff care for our dogs and really have a passion for what they do. Dr. Maxson is very knowledgeable and there hasn't been a problem yet that he has not been able to help us with. On a recent visit for my 11 year old boxer who was limping severely and could barely walk, he gave him an anti-inflammatory and antibiotic and he was better by the next day. He hasn't had any problems since. I truly believe his guidance & care has helped our boxer to live a long and healthy life. I have been going to see Dr. Maxson (at Beechcrest Animal Clinic) for 11 years now. Reasons why I recommend him: + you won't find anyone else who truly CARES for your pet + the staff is very FRIENDLY + Dr. Maxson is considerate of your TIME and MONEY- he will not suggest to ""run tests"" if they are not necessary + in the event that he does not know 100% what the problem is, he will let you know; he is HONEST + he is COMPASSIONATE and wants the best for your pet + very reasonable PRICES - you won't get over-charged with Dr. Maxson We have moved several times within the last 11 years (out-of-state, too). I went to many vets in Alief and beyond for 2 years and COULD NOT find one that was very knowledgeable or kind. Referred to specialty clinic that charged $500 the 1st visit! The pymt plan was ""pay now or we keep your dog & charge boarding fees"". First concern-ability to pay at visit. In 1994, I asked a groomer if she knew a good vet that was very caring. Without hesitation she recommended Dr. Maxson. He treated my sickly girl for the next 10 years and was so very kind and loving to her. He always showed consideration for us too; offering treatment options, realizing that one's inability to pay for expensive treatment in no way diminished one's love for their pet. Husband & I were devastated when Helen was diagnosed with a fast growing cancer; she died in my arms 4 weeks later. We called Dr. Maxson, Jan said bring her in. In the exam room, both of us crying, our girl wrapped in her blanket, Janice gently took her from me & began to clean her face and body. Husband asked Janice for scissors (no explanation). She returned with scissors, brush, a twist tie, and envelope, then left us alone for the next hour. Our dog was a schnauzer/poodle mix, runt of the litter that grew to 38 lbs. & looked like an English sheepdog. In 12 1/2 years, I never cut any hair on her head. Husband brushed her hair up, tied w/ twist tie, & tearfully, we cut a 4"" lock of her hair. The grief that engulfed us extended to family & friends; everyone loved Helen. We were so touched when we rec?d. a sympathy card from Dr. Maxson & staff. This vet truly understands that pets are FAMILY MEMBERS & respects them as such when in his care. Office & exam rooms have always been spotless & odor free. Dr. Maxson is extremely knowledgeable & enthusiastically spends as much time as needed. Staff has always been wonderful about giving short-notice appts. 3 Yrs. ago we got 2 VERY rowdy puppies; so brother went to new home in Magnolia. Read Less

It was my first time here with my pet dog, i read the rating comments since the previous doctor is retired now and wasnt sure if i should go. Honestly, everyone bere was very friendly and they would answer any questions even when i just called in to ask. My dog got better within a few days and they still call to check up on him. Sometimes theyre busy, which might explain why they pay a little less time on your pet, but he's still a doctor so he knows what he's doing and still examine fully. He gave me a discount too, since we're kind of on a budgetRead Less

I have referred several people there who were unhappy with their previous vet and they are now happy clients of Dr. Maxson. He is the best! Read Less

and good luck finding one comparable......I have been to some that were ok but this man is stunning ......and his clinic ......as one poster said.......clean clean clean. I had a weimar for 17 yrs with allergies and spent $$$....even accupuncture.....dr maxson helped me more than anyone else with being just logical ,considerate of monies and compassionate to the animal and her healing all at the same time......so he helped both her and me at the same time..........this is a stunning trait in any human. I now have a chihuhua with no problems but old age now and never had a vet for him ......so when the problem came up i did not hesitate all these yrs later to go see dr maxson........ not only did he know and remember me and darlin (my long gone weimar) but still had her picture on the bullitin board ....right where we had placed it after all these years......stunning.....and solved my chihuahua's (little boy dragon) problem with one visit (i thought i would be in for test and such....there were none.....only a cheap prescription i pick up every so often....that fixes what is wrong. thank you dr maxson for being there and who you are as a human being. and ditto for the lovely staff also. love and light from: darlin & little boy dragon Read Less

No other vet can compare. I have been over-charged, my dogs and wallet has suffered with other vets. Although I live 1.5 hours away, I still drive to see Dr. Maxson. I recommend him to anyone who has a pet. I just hope he never retires! Read Less

My Great Friend! was so impressed with Dr. Maxson that she still uses his clinic Read Less
