Recently rescued a shelter puppy and the doc didn't even to think to check for parvo and said the vomit and diarrhea she was experiencing was from roundworms. Fast forward a week and now she is in 24/7 round the clock care to help her fight the Parvo which that vet said would have common practice to check her for originally especially considering she came from Harris County shelter. Also with how contagious Parvo is, wouldn't you want to know if you need to disinfect the room to stop the spread to any new pups entering the office? Solid work doc! Originally started to see Dr. Peckham back in 2006. He took care of our dogs and our two snakes. We went to him primarily because he is one of the few exotic pet veterinarians in the area who has experience with reptiles. The snakes are gone but the dogs are still his patients. His office is a No-Frills no-nonsense place but you get excellent service and somewhat less pricey than the service you get it the other veterinarians in the area. As you can guess from the fact that we've used him for 10 years we like him. Aside from being a great vet, he is also a great guy. Robert his assistant for all these years is also fabulous and our dogs really like him. I recommend this veterinarian to everyone, except those who are snooty and require lot of frills. Read Less

Dr. Peckham has been my vet for more than 15 years. He gives excellent care to animals, including exotics. He is compassionate and also very very knowledgeable. He is always abreast of the latest in veterinary science, and the clinic's facilities are state-of-the-art. He really CARES about the animals in his practice and he is also very, very good at what he does. There are sometimes complaints about his bedside manner. Dr. Peckham can be very brusque sometimes, but it is because he really cares about animals. I agree it is something he could stand to work on (and his attitude has really improved over the years) but his emotional response is because he is truly passionate about animal care. His prices are reasonable and he will often work with clients to set up a payment plan. He wants to be able to help you and your pet. I can't say enough good things about him. We have taken all of our pets, dogs, cats & exotics to Dr. Peckham for 12 years now.  It seems we always have a zoo at our house and this veterinarian has performed several miracles for our pets.  He is always thinking outside the box on ways to help our animals, without us having to get a second mortgage.  I believe he is responsible for adding at least three years to our dog's life and also for miraculous surgery and continued care for our parrot.  Of course, we have had some sad circumstances with a couple of our pets, but Dr. Peckham is always up front, thinking about the pets best interest and trying to help as much as possible.  Just like any person, he is not God and cannot solve all medical problems, but he is a great vet and I can highly recommend him.
