Took my English Bulldog puppies here to be treated for coccidia - they said they didn't have coccidia and that it was "probably just a stomach infection." I had doubts so I took them to the vet I usually go to, and was told it was advanced coccidia and I should get my money back. Of course, I called and they refused. I only came here because it's 5min from my house; I usually go to Affordable Pet Clinic on Little York. Worth the drive, I guess. Read Less

My husband wanted to give this place another chance so he called to make appointment to get a rabies shot and the lady that answer the phone got the vet and on speaker she said one of her stipulation was that he could not bring his wife. They would be happy to see him just not me because I left a bad review because of the treatment of my yorkie that she almost killed and how she only cares about how much money you have. They are very rude and uncaring here!! I will be finding another vet for sure . This is the worst vet I have ever been to!!!! If you care about your pet than please find a better place than this. This vet saved my puppies lives! They both were gravely ill with parvo like symptoms and weighing only 2 pounds at 8 weeks old. She gave me instructions and medicine for them to take home. It was affordable and she was always available for follow ups. I followed all of her instructions and thankfully they pulled through. I now have two healthy dogs at 7 months old and I continue to take them here for all of their health needs. She is a great Vet! Read Less

I had been taking my cat here for as long as she was alive (12 years). Dr. Burns and her technicians have always been very kind to me and my cat. A few days ago my cat had a stroke at home and she wasn't the same anymore so I took her to the clinic, Dr.Burns showed me some places I could take her to attempt to make her better but I know my cat was already too far gone, she just very lethargic and despondent. Dr.Burns explained what happens when you put your animal down and what each injection does, she let me stay with my cat until she completely passed, and Dr.Burns was nothing but understanding and compassionate towards me. Please research the reviews before you take your pet to this office. My fiance' and I rescued a dog from the SPCA. We took our dog to Beltway Animal Hospital because it is close to our house. Upon arriving there they asked us how much we wanted to spend. Not what was wrong with our dog. Very unprofessional. We should have left right then.Then the veternarian comes into the room and is so sarcastic and rude. Her bed side manner is horrible.We felt completely insulted by this woman. Beware of there pricing tactics. Beware of the unprofessionalism. My family will NEVER go back to this place. Read Less

This has been our vet for many years.. the staff and dr burns is great .. saved 2 of my dogs lives and our dachshund countless times and now she's nearly 13 years old, healthy as can be , thanks to dr burns.. wouldn't take my dogs anywhere else ! Read Less

Awful, rude service and high prices! Does not care about your animal just their pockets! Now, I see why this office is always empty! The service is horrible and the Vet advice is too. The doctor is cold and has no social skills. The staff takes their terrible customer service cues from her. The nicest person in the office is the lady that works the front desk. My experience consisted of very vague short visits where the Vet barely engaged with me or my animal but charged over $100 each visit with little explanation before charge. When I started asking questions, I learned the most expensive treatment was being used without giving any other option. I learned of much cheaper options only after asking. We no longer go here for care. I advise you to look at other places if you want to feel like you are appreciated as a customer and most importantly your pet's best interest is the primary focus. Your pets are your family. You want someone that wants the best for them just like you. Banfield has a really friendly, caring Vet. You will notice the difference immediately. I also utilize the Human Society for routine care. I actually tried to give this place another chance recently and she refused to see my dog, because she said my daughter said she didn't like her at the last visit 2 years prior. Well, looks like my daughter's assessment was spot on. I told you this Vet doesn't care, and she is a rude HOT MESS! Some small businesses you just can't help. The vets were VERY disrespectful , the younger vet was not quite straight forward with me about my 3 month dog who was terribly sick and now is dying and all my questions were answered the same " she's not ok " . The older vet was the most disrespectful of them all she had a bad sense of humor about my dogs sickness which was obviously not funny due to my dog dying . She also was rude towards me. This is the worst animal hospital ever! The staff is extremely rude and Dr burns is all about making money she could care less about you and your pet. She is as blunt and cold hearted as they come and is very judgmental. I will never ever take my pet there ever again. If you love your pet stay as far away from this clinic as you can! Read Less

I love Beltway Animal Hospital. .staff has been so good to my Furry Babies...been my babies Vet for a couple of years now..wouldn't change her for any other vet. She is so sweet and professional. I've taken all my pets here. They are reasonably priced, quick to get in to see and the whole staff is pretty nice. Dr. Burns is indeed blunt. However, she isn't rude, just to the point, no sugar coating. If you would like someone to hold your hand, and coddle you through whatever is going on with your pet, she probably isn't the one for you. However, if you would like your pet taken care of at an affordable price without a lot of fluff, come check them out. Read Less

We have been taking our pets to Dr. Burns for over 10 years. She is very clear, very frank, and quite frankly, deeply compassionate. Great service isn't a matter of placating your clients...sometimes its a matter of being very real and honest in difficult situations. She took such care of us when our sweet puppy died and took us through the process of saying good-bye to three of our fur family. I have cried many times in her office and I never felt like our tears were rebuffed. When my cat was sick I was so frantic because I didn't know what was wrong with her. I went to one vet simply because they were close to me. They wanted to run over $800 worth of simple tests just to see and I really could not afford that but did not want to just give up. Dr. Burns let us know what our options were and gave us the honest reality and likelihood of what was needed. I needed that. It helped us make the most compassionate choice for our pet. She sees what is needed for the animal and she knows her stuff. She's always been very up front about her suggestions, when she feels she is making an educated guess and when she knows without a doubt. We trust her completely. I HIGHLY recommend her for anyone who is looking to create a lifelong relationship in care and health for their fur family! Read Less

Only reason why I'm giving one star is because zero is not an option. I took my puppy to them ran test and prescribed medicine said that he had an infection. Took him back because he wasn't feeling better and gave him fluids. Then still didn't feel better and said "it would have to run its course" called again 72 hours later and was told there was nothing they could do. Took my puppy to anther vet and was told he had PARVO!!! That if I wouldn't have took him in he probably wouldn't have made it. So here we are 84 hours later and my puppy is fighting for his life because correct diagnostic was not given! Dr.Burns' "bluntness" comes off as helpful but don't be fooled they just want their money and then they don't offer any help after. I would defiantly stay away. Read Less

I have gone to Dr. Burns for at least 30 years, and most of that time have lived 25 miles or more away from their office. She is very direct and to the point, but she will help and answer any questions you have. She is an amazing, caring vet. Read Less

I have seen a lot of bad reviews for this office. I take my two dogs here and have been for a while now. Dr. Burns is very to the point, but overall I like her. She has always handled my dogs with great care and is pretty friendly to me and my children. The lady working the front desk is super nice and always answers my questions when I call about pricing... There is a helper or two I don't like because they tend to be a little rude especially when my two year old tags along to visits but the front desk lady and Dr. Burns make up for it! Low prices! I asked my mom to take my two dogs to the vet today, 2/23/16, as I have not been able to take them myself as I have been working later than our normal vet is open, so she took them where she takes her dog, which is Beltway Animal Hospital (BAH). She called me to let me know that Dr. Burns refused to see my dogs because of a check that I owed from 2008, my attitude from a prior visit, and something about the internet. Since my mom tends to lose information with the translation, I called the office myself as news about a check being owed was news to me. I was informed that indeed, Dr. Burns would not see our dogs and we were no longer welcome. They stated that the check being owed had been resolved, so that was not the problem. The problem was because of an incident that happened in 2010 (apparently I myself had an attitude regarding it since I did not physically go to the business) and then posted a bad review regarding the incident. The incident that happened in 2010 was as follows: my husband came home from work around 4:30 pm and found our dog in very poor health. We panicked thinking we were losing our beloved dog, so he rushed him to BAH and I left work in a hurry to go get cash from the bank (since they only accept cash or checks). They finally get taken to the back room to see Dr. Burns after waiting about an hour, and I called my husband to see what did the Dr. say and how much money do I need to withdrawal from the bank since they were about to close (it was about 5:50 pm). When Dr. Burns heard him talking to me on the phone about money, she quickly stopped rendering services and told him that since he did not have the money with him, he had to leave and she would no longer continue the consultation. So of course my husband and I were upset. I even called the office and explained that I was already at the bank withdrawing cash and would be there in 5-10 min and they still refused to see him. So, we drove down to North Channel Animal Hospital on Wallisville. They had already closed, but thankfully there was a worker walking to her car and we asked for help. She helped us with our dog right then and there in the parking lot! (No consultation needed!!) Hence the reason as to why we never returned and I wrote the bad review. You must ask why go back today then? I honestly thought BAH had changed their ways and was willing to give a small business owner a second chance. To be honest, this could have easily been an opportunity to redeem themselves. Granted, many continue to take their beloved pets to BAH because of the low cost, but like I said in my 2010 review, my hard earned money seems more appreciated elsewhere. I have been shown that I may spend more elsewhere, but at least I know I will receive excellent customer service and my beloved dogs are better taken care of. So if you plan on writing a negative review, be prepared to no longer be welcome at their business! So you have been forewarned! Too bad the sytem would not allow me to not allocate any stars. Worst vet ever. No compassion! When you tell her you google the symptoms her exact words were I'm going to have to charge you extra for googling. Never take your pet here ever! And heaven forbid you have a budget then she's even more rude. I've also heard if you're still in the waiting room after 6 she leaves doesn't care of your pet pet has been seen or not. Read Less

After reading the reviews for this clinic I decided to take my 5 month old puppy in for a check up. The wait was less than 2 minutes ( they walked in before I completed the forms) and the staff was super friendly and helpful. Dr Burns was amazing! After the exam she answered all of our questions and introduced us to her goat Cornelious! Needless to say, my kiddos and I now love this place and will never think of taking our pets elsewhere again. This place is definitely 5 stars all around! Read Less

I love Dr. Burns.... She's amazing! Been our vet for years. Does not sugar coat anything gives it to you straight. We had our wiener puppy for almost 6 yrs and December 20,2013 he woke up paralyzed from the lower back down, we rushed our Bock to her, She was so heart broken to tell us. We had three choices, put him down and my daughter would not allow it or spinal surgery and she told me it may not take or we could do injections, water therapy and exercise and a lot of love. We chose #3 and it was hard. Pampers, appointments,pee  and more pee he had to drag himself. His pamper would fall off so I'd put a leg warmer around him and it would keep it on and help him slide his body. I did his exercises and Dr. Burns showed me how to help him.. And she helped me get through it. He's like my baby. And it was so sad. But everyday he got stronger and stronger and he's walking again and running through the leaves and picking his little leg up to pee! He's still a bit unsteady at times but I'll take it. She's a wonderful woman and having that special time with Bock it really showed me how much a tiny lil doggy can do to my heart. I need him as much as he needs me. Read Less
