I called over a week ahead to make an appointment so my dog could be seen, I showed up 15 minutes early for the appointment just to be cuteous. When I signed her in they told me that my dog's appointment was never made and that there is a walk in fee. Why should I have to pay for their mistake and irresponsibility? Doesn't make any sense the receptionist told me to wait about two hours? No ma'am , I was not about to sit in my car with my dog for that long. Read Less

My dog was having an emergency, and I wanted to avoid a big company such as Banfield and came here. I paid an understandable walk in fee and the price for tests to get done last minute were reasonable. Dr Byrd was incredibly informative and the rest of the staff were caring and timely. Read Less

This will be the only vet clinic my dog ever goes to. From day one they have been nothing but amazing. Every staff member I've interacted with clearly puts their heart into taking care of our furry family members. The doctors are thorough, and take time answering every crazy question an owner might have. The front office staff take the time to reiterate the doctors instructions, and assist with any last minute concerns and questions. My family and I have been coming here for 20+ years. I was 5 when we got our first dog and started to come here (and now 29). I had to make on of the hardest decisions of my life in 2008, but couldn't not have done it without the support and advice of the vet techs, the front desk (I remember balling my eyes out and getting hugs, and the lady even let me keep my cats folder, I couldn't have the paperwork but she gave me the folder with his name on it and the silver warning star because he was a crazy cat which I still hold on to today. even though it seems silly, it meant the world to me) and Dr. Sabo. I look back on it now and realize I should have made that decision sooner, but thankfully Dr. Sabo stepped in and politely aided me when he did. Now we bring our younger children in to see Dr. Byrd and we love her! Late last year one of my senior cats became ill, and Dr. Byrd called me randomly a few days after our visit just to check on how my princess was doing. It's little things like that which show how much these people care. We recently added a new rescue kitty to our family who had the hardest start to his life. We didn't think he would make it at times. We had to force feed him, provide fluids, and deal with a serious upper respiratory infection causing his nose to be so blocked that we had to clean it multiple times a day just so he could breathe. I would cry my eyes out daily thinking we would lose this little guy (Toby). Dr. Byrd helped us every step of the way teaching us how to do new things, giving us suggestion after suggestion, until one day after a month of being sick we saw improvement. Unfortunately, Toby will most likely be sick on and off again his entire life because of the viruses he contracted but we are more than ready to face the upcoming hardships with Dr. Byrd. Thank you SO much Dr. Byrd for everything you do! Our pets are our children, I wouldn't trust them with anyone else in the world. Oh and Dr. Byrd told me to watch my Aussie for reverse sneezing. When I asked what that was she imitated the sound for me VERY well. Best laugh ever but she willingly did something that some may be embarrassed about to make me aware of what to look out for.Read Less

I'd like to thank Dr. Byrd and Dr. Rieger and their awesome staff for doing an outstanding job in the care of our 2 large breed dogs. We had an emergency yesterday with our yellow lab so I rushed her to their hospital and despite being fully booked with scheduled appointments, they were able to make room to get us in and see us with a sense of urgency. She was diagnosed and confirmed with having pancreatitis. Pancreatitis is life threatening in dogs and as stressed as I was, Dr. Byrd's and Dr. Reiger's calm and sincere manner reassured and let me know that they really do care and are very serious about their work and the job they have to do. We consider them an exemplary veterinary clinic and are so thankful for taking care of our family!! Read Less

Absolutely wonderful experience here. We went on a 7 day cruise and had never boarded our two chihuahuas so we were a little concerned about leaving them for a week. The staff from the beginning were kind and helpful, and the facilities were clean and nice. We didn't have a vet clinic before, but now we do. I take my Sophia here since I got her and the staff and doctors are so awesome with her... She recently had surgery to get her spayed and they call to check up on her. They did such a good job I was scared to leave her there but they took good care of her.. Thank you Fairbanks Animal Clinic... I would recommend this place a million times over. Reasonable prices and all the staff is personable. They can get busy considering they are probably the best in the area. That's probably the only downfall. But that's only because they take considerable time with every animal and take emergency dropoffs as well. Read Less

I have been taking my pet Axle here since he was a puppy. Axle came in with Parvo. I took him to Fairbanks Animal Clinic and they were very caring and concerned for Axle's well being. I took him to various other clinic's before choosing this one and all clinics told me that Axle probably wouldn't make it. But Fairbanks Animal Clinic never gave up on Axle. We would see them every 2 days to get Axle's injections/medication. Axle ended up surviving and I couldn't be more thankful to Fairbanks Animal Clinic for everything they did for him.Read Less

I've been using Fairbanks Animal Clinic since 1992 and know Drs Glen and Mark Rieger personally and Dr Karol Sabo. They are professionals, honest, caring and always have your pets best interest at heart. They have taken excellent care of our dogs, Lord Fairfax, Scarlett, Jan, and Sassy and our cat Elizabeth. Sometimes the front desk takes a while to attend but its understandable, they have a lot of customers. The place is small but in my opinion i like the atmosphere of it. Doctor Sabo is sweet and helpful also Doctor Byrd is a very polite young lady very helpful as well. My cat had a respiratory infection that caused a teary eye and mucus problem. Dr. Byrd helped out by eliminating possibilities and to find a cure for my cat. It did cost a lot but Dr. Byrd gave me a heads up and gave me the option of giving my cat the examination. My cat did get better. So the price didn't really matter to me as long as it got my cat better. Read Less

Do not go to this place. Your pet and your wallet deserve better. The staff including the manager tend to provide extra vaccines or such things and a month or two later tell you about it and all of a sudden you still have a balance. Even if you are a cash customer and paid in full every time. "we all make mistakes" is their excuse.... that is just unacceptable. Very disappointed in the service received today at Fairbanks Animal Clinic. I have been taking our animals there for over 5 years, including a two year period where our chronically ill kitty had monthly appointments. Today I rearranged my schedule in order to see the vet that has been treating another kitty with thyroid issue. I was told she was not taking private appointments but we could do a drop-off anytime between 9 and 11:30 and she would see our kitty for follow-up tests that she had recommended. After rounding up our kitty and arriving at the vet at 11am, we were told that she was not taking any more drop-offs today because she already had too many. Since we had made special arrangements to see this particular vet, it was very discouraging that she did not limit the number of clients told that they could drop off. The employee at the desk offered no alternative solution and just gave a half-hearted apology. Since my time and business is obviously not appreciated, we will be taking our business elsewhere.Read Less

I hate this place!! Such a ripoff!! One time a doc check is $60 , $30 next time. I wanted the doc just to look at the ears and tell me if the pup got infection, that all, had to pay $60 just for a visit, and the doc couldn't even confirm if the puppy has infection. And there was no infection at all!!!! $60 for nothing Next time i need to get dewarm meds , $30 for a visit ,$15 for the meds. Always they still want to charge for the doc checkup.!!!
