I told the doctor that 9 cats should be tested for fecal worms, because cats have diarrhea, the doctor gave 9 cats a blood test (YOUNG Feline Preventive Wellness Panel), why? Maybe I can't speak English, but they are dark and bad , when you want to speak English or not, pay special attention to it, because they will make you sign and agree, and they will make money in the way of huge profits. Lakeside Animal Clinic (LAC) is an awesome vet clinic. I took my Bichon Frise to LAC for evaluation and teeth cleaning. The vet was very experienced and all staff members were super friendly. In fact, these employees hugged and cuddled my dog just like he was part of their own family. The price was very reasonable for all of the services performed. I will definitely return. Dr. Wiltshire and his associate Veterinarians are always top notch. They have more equipment to do imaging and tests in house than any other vet I have seen. I drive 45 minutes to bring my babies here, because they get the best care. They do not jack up their fees, and they discuss their treatment plan in depth, so you know what they have in mind, and why. And if you have questions layer, you can email, and they WILL reply, especially after hours. I've been going to this clinic since 2014. The staff is very friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. I've had great experiences with each of the three vets I've seen there. The vets spend plenty of time with each patient and are quite thorough. They keep in mind budget constraints when advising course of treatment. The vet gives me several options for treatment and services. Clean office and spacious exam rooms. It's easy to make an appointment. They run on time. Plenty of parking. I picked this place initially because: 1. It was close, and 2. It was a vet's office. I've been very impressed with how they've taken care of my 15 year old fur babies. My cat had surgery to have a mass in front of her ear removed, and Dr. Oglesby and the staff made sure to call multiple times to not only update me on how my kitty was doing, but also to check on her in the following days. They were also very quick to email me lab results and explain them, and the staff have always been super friendly and sweet. I had to bring in my cat again to have a check up and some sutures removed; we saw Dr. Wiltshire and he made an amazing impression. He was super friendly, down to earth, and informative, and I felt like he and Dr. Oglesby really care about their patients. Awesome experience. Friendly staff, great doctor and affordable. My dog was sick and I took her there for examination. The doctor and the assistant were great examining her and explaining me what she had. They provided the medication and can see that they care about the patients and are very attentive and will be following-up as she gets better. I couldn't have a better experience. From the moment I called I was impressed with this clinic. They were extremely nice on the phone and when I arrived, they were the same way in person. We were placed in a room almost immediately and did not wait long for the veterinarian. They were extremely caring and compassionate for my pet. Got a new fur baby so I was in search of a reputable veterinarian.. and I am extremely grateful that I came across Lakeside Animal Clinic. I had an appointment for my 12 week old puppy and I was running late. I ended up arriving 15 minutes past my appointment time and the office staff were very understanding. They did not show any hostility and helped me get inside since I had my hands full with my puppy and two young children. Office is very clean - no lingering odor and neatly maintained. Waiting room is spacious with complimentary coffee next to the entrance. The patient room was also neatly kept and roomy. We did not have to wait as long, even though we arrived late. Karla, the vet technician, was so sweet and gathered information with such a calm and polite manner. She also went over the financial information to make sure there weren't any hidden fees that I was not aware of. Karla went over each vaccine/medication and did not pressure me into buying unnecessary services/products. Dr. Suttle is such a wonderful veterinarian. She has such a positive and inviting energy and is down to earth. She examined my puppy thoroughly and had no problem answering my millions of questions. She answered them enthusiastically and also told me a couple of funny stories regarding her experience with dogs. It was so comfortable speaking to her and also very enjoyable. Ruby also assisted Dr. Suttle and took such great care of my little pet. If you're a new client, the examination fee is waived. Honestly, I had a better deal here than the majority of what other vet clinics had offered me. I highly recommend this clinic. It's amazing! I took my dog into Lakeside about 2 weeks ago because I had just moved to the area and needed an annual check up for my dog. She isnt very dog friendly, but loves people, so the staff there took extra steps to make sure we entered and exited the building without any other animals around. Savannah was fantastic the entire time and even gave my dog extra treats at the end. The staff was friendly and the vet was amazing. They made sure I received all of the costs before anything was done and even called the next day to check on her. I will be back and even trying to get my bf to move vets to Lakeside for his dog. I am in awe of this place. After being quoted WAY out of budget by a few other local vets for my puppy's first visit, I'm so grateful to have found Lakeside! I have never been in this clinic but I'm already impressed in a good way with them. I've been talking to them before moving to Texas months ago because I needed to know what are the requirements for rabies vaccines in this state since my dogs would be moving along with. They shortly and friendly answered all my my emails with all my doubts about the rules for the rabies vaccine and what I needed to know to give my dogs the 3-year vaccine which can be pretty confusing.Months later, I got in touch with them again because my dogs will need pretty soon another booster of vaccines and they again shortly answered me with the costs and they also mentioned about the 3-year dhpp vaccine which I never heard about before. I contacted other vet facilities about vaccines and they never told me about the 3-year dhpp vaccine and I was sure I would need to take my dogs in annually just for vaccines. I appreciate they told me that because I don't want to over vaccinate my dogs plus Dr. Wiltshire called me and explained me all the rules for those vaccines which was very nice.All the staff, Dr. Wiltshire and Abdel-Malek gave me all the attention I needed to make sure I was doing the right thing for my dogs plus told me up front how much I would spend exactly. I usually have trouble in finding doctors for myself, my family and my dogs because we often find doctors that are not honest and just want to make money. But with the treatment I've been receiving from this clinic, I feel confident that I'll get the best for my dogs and my pocket.I'll be pretty soon scheduling an appointment to take my dogs in. Lakeside has been my vet/boarding option for about 2.5 years now. The doctors and staff are incredibly friendly and they treat my 65lb Boxer/Shepherd mix like one of their own. I simply could not be happier with having them as my dog's primary care provider. They offer day boarding/full boarding services, as well, and my dog always comes home as happy and playful as when I left her. When there was an instance of kennel cough that occurred during boarding, they prescribed her medication for free and took ownership. I took my cat here because he was swaying back and forth when he walked. I later found out from a competent vet that he had a broken hip.This guy only was interested in charging up about $350 worth of needless lab tests. He never even did an x-ray. They were only interested in pumping up the bill and talked me into having his nails trimmed....After being made to feel like I was a bad pet parent I agreed, so I let them trim the nails of a cat with a broken hip.I went to another vet who asked if an x-ray had been done and of course it had not. Broken hip.......This Vet bought the existing practice from an older vet who use to practice here. I'm sure he has an outrageous note to pay for the business so that's why he feels the need to slam people with huge lab fees but you think he might have had some sense to at least x-ray the poor cat first, but NO.I will never go back here again! My cat Debbie hadnt been to a vet for quite some time. I was concerned about some of her recent behaviors so i turned to yelp, as i do for everything, and this was the first clinic that popped up. I can totally see why this place has a 5 star rating. The staff was amazing. They made me feel like i had been bringing my cat here for years. I was offered a drink a couple of times and Debbie was given treats while we waited for the doctor. Dr. Wilshire was so nice and gentle with Debbie and she seemed really relaxed with him throughout the exam. Nancy was super friendly and i really enjoyed dealing with her at the front desk. Lakeside Animal Clinic has been the BEST practice in every aspect. The customer service provided by the staff is outstanding. They truly care about their client's needs, requests and will accommodate as much as they can. Their response time is incredibly quick. The most friendly and CLEAN pet clinic in Houston! I rescued a newborn lab/pointer mix and have been taking him here since 2013. The staff truly goes above and beyond for their paw patients and as a pet parent, that adds a whole lot of trust. They go out of their way to get to know each fur baby as an individual and that just makes it so much more special. The doctors are extremely knowledgeable and very attentive. We had to take our dog here due to non-stop seizures which weren't responding to the phenobarbital the emergency clinic gave us a week prior. Due to her age (almost 14) and state, we made the hard decision to put her to sleep. The vet was very sympathetic and understanding and they gave us plenty of time with her to say our final goodbyes and explained the process. She also gave me a hug afterwards and it was a small but meaningful gesture that meant a lot to me. Thank you! We will definitely go back for our cats check ups. Read Less

The staff is very very friendly and informative. The facility is clean and easy to access. I just think they are a bit over priced compared to some other places. When I first got my dog and rescued him I brought him here. They were very patient with him and they really loved on him. But I felt like the more I was there the more they were trying to get me to do without really explaining or giving me an answer. I was putting him on medicine that really wasn't doing much either. The wait time also always killed me. I couple times I was there for about 1.5/2 hours and I didn't really get why it took that long? Their boarding is also a little pricey which is why I have switched vets. But truthfully, a very friendly facility just did not meet my needs. Read Less

I gave this place 5 stars for many reasons. 1.) I've never been to a vet before, and I was full of nerves so I called ahead to ask a few questions and for a price quote, which they were super sweet and informative about. They answered all my questions and reassured me. They then set up the next available date for me and even gave me a call the day before the appointment to remind me. 2.) When I was on my way to the appointment, I was running a little late, so I called in and they were still sweet about it and kindly let me know they would take the next appointment since I was a little late, which I was fine with, my fault anyways.3.) I think when we got there my puppy knew where he was immediately and started freaking out and crying, so when I went to the front desk and asked for a puppy treat, they went the extra step and gave him the treats themselves and played with him a little which calmed his nerves, and calmed my nerves as well. 4.) They taught me how to clip his nails, since I was nervous about it. I don't remember the name of the guy who did it, but he was really helpful and nice. At the end, they gave him a free doggy bag, and I thought that was super awesome of them. The doctor (Dr. Abdel-Malek) and all the staff were just awesome, friendly and super patient. Dr. Abdel-Malek and her assistant Christie are two of the most amazing people that I have ever seen in my life!! The passion in which they care for their patients is beyond words. I got my first puppy but I noticed that he wasn't active as much but I assumed that he needed time to adjust to his new home, but he soon lost his appetite and began vomiting so into the vet we went.This was my first time ever going into a vet's office so needless to l say, I had some anxiety.I came in with my 8 week old puppy who was vomiting with diarrhea. Unfortunately my poor little baby had contracted parvovirus, which is death sentence for most dogs. I was extremely distraught, I was confused, I was crying and I was a complete mess. Christie and Dr. A came over with those warm smiles and hugs and ensured me that it was okay, that I can do this. In the midst of me being so upset while looking into his hazel eyes he had the worst case of diarrhea and it smelled horrid, to the point that I almost vomited. They were so patient while cleaning up poo and comforting me. When treating a puppy that has parvovirus they are supposed to be hospitalized, but boy oh boy, I was not ready for that. The chance of survival when not hospitalized goes down to 20%. I am so happy to report that my puppy survived parvovirus!! Thanks to Dr. Abdel-Malek who insured that I knew that this was very serious and that I could treat him as needed. I received follow up call from the office to ensure that everything was going okay. They have gained a new patient for life. There are some affiliates that treat humans that could learn a thing or two about compassion and understanding from you ladies! I have had her for a year as far as i know she does not bite. She needs a back yard she is to big for an apartment. my new complex i wil be moving to has a no pet rule. I want to keep her but i cant. she does chew on everything she sees so you have to keep a eye on her as far as i know she is ok with kids but she is 40 to 45 pounds she she will knock them over. i have the out door kennel and indoor crate. she has had shots but i did not take her back for booster and also i think she needs the one that is given so that she can be around other dogs. if interested can contact me and come get her free of charge. i just want her to have a good home where she is loved and can run as much as she likes also if she is kept in yard she is a digger . i am only listing everything about her so you will know what you are getting into. lake side is her vet Read Less

We recently adopted our beautiful puppy at a shelter event last Saturday. Our family realized she probably had Parvo by Monday. We went to a local vet (they will remain nameless) and the Vet said they couldn't tell if it was Parvo because our puppy already had a Parvo shot at the shelter, so it would be a false positive. The vet offered to hospitalize our puppy at a ridiculous price and I realized the vet didn't really care or have a passion in her field.So I called numerous vet clinics in and out of the area and I fell in love with Lakeside after my call to Roni. She gave me great advice and helped me get my baby in immediately. The staff became a family in one day. Dr. Wiltshire treated our puppy like it was his own and after only one day of hospitalization our baby is back home healthy and happy. I would recommend anyone and everyone to Lakeside. This is far and away the best vet in Houston. The staff is passionate about their job, which is hard to find these days.I never write reviews, but this is a special clinic with special people. Our experience at Lakeside Animal Clinic was not a very positive one. Our pet was very sick and urinating blood when the staff tried to sell us a senior wellness blood work package before our pet could be examined and treated by the DVM ownership. This same DVM scheduled surgery five days later to remove a mass he stated his ultrasound equipment found in our pet’s bladder. While waiting for the scheduled surgery on our pet, we had a second ultrasound performed at another veterinarian clinic and the bladder mass could not be found. When I moved to Houston 4 years ago I had no idea where I was going to take my dogs for their check ups. Using a site like this, I read great reviews about Lakeside Animal Clinic and lucky for me... it was by my apt! I have so enjoyed taking my two dogs to see Dr. Wiltshire and his wonderful staff! I love that when I walk in, they know my name and the names of my dogs! Both of my dogs suffered a scary illness this year; but I had confidence in Dr. W and his staff they there were going to take great care of my babies, and that they knew what needed to be done. I have gone to Lakeside Animal Clinic for years, and I have always been very happy with them (both with Dr. Wiltshire and his staff). In fact, I drive 30 miles each way to take my dogs there & I have recommended them to several of my friends. Dr. Wiltshire helped us through difficult times with an elderly dog, and I never felt like I was overcharged or rushed into any treatments. The complaint is so out of character for this vet and his staff. I found them just before Ike came in because I had two storm phobic dogs. I have stayed with them because of their care both of me and my dogs. I recently called because of two dogs coming down with kennel cough and they made arrangements for me to come in late in the day so as not to infect any other patients that could have been in the waiting room.Any vet that will work with rescues and treat them the same as any other patient speaks volumes. The first thing that comes to mind when I think of the staff over at Lakeside is the good energy that you feel as soon as you walk through the door. I have been taking my furry children to Lakeside for years and hear me when I say, Dr. W and staff give a hoot about the well-being of the animals. Dr. Wiltshire and his team are really great. I have never had a problem with them and love how they recognize me when I walk in, even when it is an unplanned visit to pick up some medicine. I am so sorry to hear that someone is bad mouthing Lakeside and do believe they are just unhappy in life and looking to make someone elses life miserable!! I started bringing Pico to Dr. McCann almost 6 years ago and when Dr. Wiltshire stepped in and took over I still feel Pico, Lucky (our new addition to the family) and I are part of the family and that all your staff treats my babies like their own and I especially like that you and everyone there are available at a moments notice! My husband and I moved to the Houston area in April. We soon needed to find a veterinarian for our 3 animals (2 cats and a dog). I began searching for someone close to us in Westchase and found Lakeside Animal Clinic after reading overwhelmingly positive reviews of the clinic. I stumbled across Lakeside a few years ago when looking for a vet to do the first few rounds of shots on a puppy I had just brought home. 3 years later, and another dog added to the mix, we are still VERY happy customers of Dr. Wiltshire and his whole staff. Our second puppy that we brought home, Dr. Wiltshire told us on her first visit, had a pretty dangerous heart condition. He made sure he kept a very close eye on her. We had to make frequent visits for quite a while, but Dr. Wiltshire was incredibly mindful of our tight budget and he did everything he possibly could for Lady. He recommended a great facility for her to undergo surgery that would also not necessarily break our bank and let us pay using a payment plan. BOTH of our dogs are both very happy and healthy and love going to Lakeside since everyone there dotes on them and gives them tons of attention. The great thing about Dr. Wiltshire and his entire staff is that you can tell that they genuinely care about their clients...both the pets and the people. My daughter and I have been going to Lakeside Animal Clinic for our pets' wellness care since 2008. During that time, we have suffered more than one pet tragedy. What struck me most about Dr. Wiltshire and his staff was how much they truly cared about the welfare of our animals during those times of crisis. They have been there for us and our "furry children" whenever we have needed them, often going above and beyond to meet our specific needs. Never once have they overcharged us or tried to sell us something unnecessary. In fact, there have been a couple of times when they waived their fee altogether. I was disheartened when I learned the puppy I adopted last year had distemper. The first vet I visited had little hope, prepared me for the worst and sent me home. Thankfully, my sister recommended I obtain a second opinion from her vet, Dr. Wiltshire. His care, devotion, knowledge, professionalism and kindness were evident immediately. Dr. W and his staff were realistic, yet hopeful, as they accurately treated the usually terminal disease. During the entire process, Dr. W was readily available to us at the office or by phone/email, responding at all hours as he expertly coached us through the dreadful disease. Today, Sofi is a healthy and happy puppy, and I couldn't imagine trusting her care to any other doctor but Dr. Wiltshire. Since the distemper, Dr. W. has diagnosed and treated Sofi for skin allergies and impacted glands. In all cases, the initial advisable treatment was the least invasive/expensive, and was accompanied with the recommendation that treatment would expand slowly only as necessary. The prices are fair, options are presented without bias, and the staff is responsive, professional, friendly and compassionate. The entire office is a class act. I have had the pleasure of recommending Dr. W. to two friends and they experienced the same exemplary service. I am proud to recommend Lakeside Animal Clinic. Read Less

My dog scratched himself a lot and I have never been able to find a vet that can figure out the real problem and get him some relief. I found this place through google and read some great reviews on how great they were so I thought I'd give it a try. From the moment I stepped foot in the door, I knew this would be our permanent vet! Dr. Randy was able to get my dog's allergies undercontrol-turns out, he's allergic to fleas! I brought my cat here a couple of years ago and I did not like it, the lady at the front desk was blunt, rude, and even jokingly cursed-VERY unprofessional. The vet was never in and I never knew what was going on. I recently made an appointment because my co-worker brought her animals here and told me there was a new owner and told me how great it was, Dr. Wilshire was more than exceptional! I only brought my pet in for vaccines but he went over all the procedures and explained everthing to my husband and I. Ms. Nancy was so kind to us and made my pet feel very comfortable because he was very nervous! Michelle was professional and extremely pleasant.
