I absolutely love this place! Ever since I was a child we have brought our dogs here and now since I have a little dog of my own (Major) I bring him here as well! Since I currently live in my college town, I still drive all the way down to Cypress just for my dog to be seen by them. I trust them completely. The staff are professional, friendly, dedicated and they are always willing to help and to work with your schedule. When my baby boy needed surgery they recommended a great place and did everything in their power to make sure my dog and I were prepared for the surgery. They take care of my dog as if he was their own, I can't image going to another place.

Never made it past the lobby. We just moved to the area and we were referred to this place by a family member. First things first, the lobby is disgustingly dirty and dated. I guarantee the A/C vents haven't been cleaned in years, and paint is peeling everywhere. It's not a super cheery place. There's somewhat of an unwelcomed feeling you get when you walk in. Second, there's a cat on the loose in the lobby with a sign that says, "Warning! This cat may bite." Are you serious? That's absurd. Third, and the reason we left; our appointment was at 4:30, and that was the time we got there. We left at 5:20 without seeing the vet. The only explanation we got was that they only have 2 exam rooms and the animals are "sicker" than anticipated. I recognize that this place has many great reviews, I'm sure that people don't regularly wait an hour to be seen, and I can't speak to the competence or manner of the vets because we didn't get to see one, but we will not be returning regardless of the response to this review. Only go if you can deal with a filthy, dated, apparently potentially dangerous environment.

I've been taking my animals here for years. My parents started bringing our dogs here when I was a child and I've continued taking my dogs here as well. I went in today to get heartworm prevention for my dog. There's always been a cat having out at this clinic, but today there were at least 3 loose cats that I saw and one loose dog. Also, the tech that gave my puppy his shot was barefoot. Least professional experience I've ever had coming here. I think it's time to find a new vet. 😕

The staff at Lakewood Forest is great. They are always friendly, seem to genuinely care for the animals, and the owners.
We recently had to be referred for some diagnostic testing that Lakewood did not offer and ended up having to put our pet to sleep. This was heartbreaking!
I received a call from Lakewood about a week later letting me know how sad they were to hear of our family's loss and that they really got to know our pet and cared for her while she was being treated there.
They also sent a note with condolences.
They ultimately have compassion for the animals they treat and the knowledge to treat them.

I want to shout from the rooftops how wonderful these people are! We were visiting our son in Houston (from the Dallas area) and brought our dog Colby, per our son's request. As it turned out, his lease prohibited Colby's visit...we were stuck for the weekend with the dilemma of what to do with our dog. Our son found a doggy daycare close to the Lakewood Forest Vet Hospital. We mistakenly took Colby to Lakewood, thinking it was the daycare our son found. The entire staff was so gracious and helpful - even calling the Dallas vet's office for Colby's (outdated) shot record and then providing much needed shots for him. They were closed on Sunday, and we were driving back to Dallas Sunday - another dilemma. However, again they saved the day (weekend) by alerting the Sunday feeder that we'd pick Colby up in the morning during her feeding time. What a blessing! if I lived in Houston, I'd get a dog just to do business with these precious people! LFVH takes care of both my dog (Corgi) and cat. My dog is always happy to go in there without anxiety because they treat her so well. The vets are good about balancing treatment recommendations with budget boundaries so that as an owner you know what really needs to be done vs. "recommended but not necessary". The staff there are all super friendly to both man and beast, and when I leave my dog there for boarding I know that she is cared for (not just fed). People truly have a heart for the animals in their care.
4 stars instead of 5 because sometimes there is room for improvement in communication, but this is still a really good vet clinic, boarding facility, and groomer.

The attention and care you receive here should be the gold standard that any profession should strive to live up to. We started visiting LFVH when we lived nearby, and recently had to move, but we still make the 45 minute (one way) drive to bring our Boston Terriers in for their care... through Houston traffic. THAT should speak volumes on it's own.
I cannot heap enough praise on the kindness, the concern, the care, and the level of awesomeness that you will be met with from Dr. Borland and the staff (especially McKenna, she's 15 kinds of awesome). You guys are amazing!

I am a concerned pet owner, and quite possibly an overly sensitive one. That means I take my dog to the vet ALOT. The folks at Lakewood Forest Veterinary are always friendly, willing to help with big and small issues alike, and they never make me feel like just a patient or a number.The receptionist is engaging, friendly and calming. The intake team is responsive and prompt. The doctors and technicians are always caring and thorough - exactly what I want in my own doctor. I continue to refer everyone I know to Lakewood Forest Veterinary, for emergencies and other care of pets. I have been to other vets in town and elsewhere and believe that Lakewood Forest Veterinary provides the best care - hands down - of any vet. The staff treat all animals like their own. Couldn't ask for better !

I cannot speak highly enough of Lakewood Forest Veterinary. My kitty was having urinary issues and needed to be monitored for quite a few days. The vet techs took him right away to be examined by the doctor. I never had to wait longer than 20 minutes, and was always told exactly what was going on, how he was doing, etc.It is obvious that the entire staff at Lakewood Forest Veterinary truly love animals, and love their jobs. I completely credit them for saving my cat's life. Thank you!

I have been using Lakewood Forest Vet for many years, first for my own 2 cats and more recently for an assortment of dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens that I foster through the Houston Humane Society. Dr. Coursey without exception, is terrific, and I have presented them with many difficult cases over the past few years. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and their fees are reasonable. They are usually able to accommodate me the same day. Highly recommended!!

They took such great care of my pup, and there is no better feeling than when you're babes are taken care of by people who YOU believe care, and aren't just "doing their job". Great, Great place. I just recently switched to this office because I was dissatisfied with my other vet. I started taking my puppy there initially for grooming, but the staff was so knowledgeable that I switched very quickly. They are very interested in what is best for your pet. They don't just do things because that is the way it has always been. They take extra precautionary steps to ensure the safety of the animals. I love how good both the staff AND the vet are with my dog.

The staff are professional, friendly, dedicated and they are always willing to help and to work with your schedule. When my baby boy needed surgery they recommended a great place and did everything in their power to make sure my dog and I were prepared for the surgery. They take care of my dog as if he was their own, I can't image going to another place.

Never made it past the lobby. We just moved to the area and we were referred to this place by a family member. First things first, the lobby is disgustingly dirty and dated. I guarantee the A/C vents haven't been cleaned in years, and paint is peeling everywhere. It's not a super cheery place. There's somewhat of an unwelcomed feeling you get when you walk in. Second, there's a cat on the loose in the lobby with a sign that says, "Warning! This cat may bite." Are you serious? That's absurd. Third, and the reason we left; our appointment was at 4:30, and that was the time we got there. We left at 5:20 without seeing the vet. The only explanation we got was that they only have 2 exam rooms and the animals are "sicker" than anticipated. I recognize that this place has many great reviews, I'm sure that people don't regularly wait an hour to be seen, and I can't speak to the competence or manner of the vets because we didn't get to see one, but we will not be returning regardless of the response to this review. Only go if you can deal with a filthy, dated, apparently potentially dangerous environment.

I've been taking my animals here for years. My parents started bringing our dogs here when I was a child and I've continued taking my dogs here as well. I went in today to get heartworm prevention for my dog. There's always been a cat having out at this clinic, but today there were at least 3 loose cats that I saw and one loose dog. Also, the tech that gave my puppy his shot was barefoot. Least professional experience I've ever had coming here. I think it's time to find a new vet. 😕

The staff at Lakewood Forest is great. They are always friendly, seem to genuinely care for the animals, and the owners.
We recently had to be referred for some diagnostic testing that Lakewood did not offer and ended up having to put our pet to sleep. This was heartbreaking!
I received a call from Lakewood about a week later letting me know how sad they were to hear of our family's loss and that they really got to know our pet and cared for her while she was being treated there.
They also sent a note with condolences.
They ultimately have compassion for the animals they treat and the knowledge to treat them.

I want to shout from the rooftops how wonderful these people are! We were visiting our son in Houston (from the Dallas area) and brought our dog Colby, per our son's request. As it turned out, his lease prohibited Colby's visit...we were stuck for the weekend with the dilemma of what to do with our dog. Our son found a doggy daycare close to the Lakewood Forest Vet Hospital. We mistakenly took Colby to Lakewood, thinking it was the daycare our son found. The entire staff was so gracious and helpful - even calling the Dallas vet's office for Colby's (outdated) shot record and then providing much needed shots for him. They were closed on Sunday, and we were driving back to Dallas Sunday - another dilemma. However, again they saved the day (weekend) by alerting the Sunday feeder that we'd pick Colby up in the morning during her feeding time. What a blessing! if I lived in Houston, I'd get a dog just to do business with these precious people! LFVH takes care of both my dog (Corgi) and cat. My dog is always happy to go in there without anxiety because they treat her so well. The vets are good about balancing treatment recommendations with budget boundaries so that as an owner you know what really needs to be done vs. "recommended but not necessary". The staff there are all super friendly to both man and beast, and when I leave my dog there for boarding I know that she is cared for (not just fed). People truly have a heart for the animals in their care.
4 stars instead of 5 because sometimes there is room for improvement in communication, but this is still a really good vet clinic, boarding facility, and groomer.

The attention and care you receive here should be the gold standard that any profession should strive to live up to. We started visiting LFVH when we lived nearby, and recently had to move, but we still make the 45 minute (one way) drive to bring our Boston Terriers in for their care... through Houston traffic. THAT should speak volumes on it's own.
I cannot heap enough praise on the kindness, the concern, the care, and the level of awesomeness that you will be met with from Dr. Borland and the staff (especially McKenna, she's 15 kinds of awesome). You guys are amazing!

I am a concerned pet owner, and quite possibly an overly sensitive one. That means I take my dog to the vet ALOT. The folks at Lakewood Forest Veterinary are always friendly, willing to help with big and small issues alike, and they never make me feel like just a patient or a number.The receptionist is engaging, friendly and calming. The intake team is responsive and prompt. The doctors and technicians are always caring and thorough - exactly what I want in my own doctor. I continue to refer everyone I know to Lakewood Forest Veterinary, for emergencies and other care of pets. I have been to other vets in town and elsewhere and believe that Lakewood Forest Veterinary provides the best care - hands down - of any vet. The staff treat all animals like their own. Couldn't ask for better !

I cannot speak highly enough of Lakewood Forest Veterinary. My kitty was having urinary issues and needed to be monitored for quite a few days. The vet techs took him right away to be examined by the doctor. I never had to wait longer than 20 minutes, and was always told exactly what was going on, how he was doing, etc.It is obvious that the entire staff at Lakewood Forest Veterinary truly love animals, and love their jobs. I completely credit them for saving my cat's life. Thank you!

Dr. C has seen it all with them and has helped us maintain them in the healthiest state possible using traditional and homeopathic care. Dr. C and the rest of the staff shows nothing but love and patience for my high-maintenance, rescue Pug-Mix who is hard to handle. They take their time and never make me feel bad for having a dog who does not exactly behave himself. Of course my non-neurotic animals get the same level of care.

I have been using Lakewood Forest Vet for many years, first for my own 2 cats and more recently for an assortment of dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens that I foster through the Houston Humane Society. Dr. Coursey without exception, is terrific, and I have presented them with many difficult cases over the past few years. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and their fees are reasonable. They are usually able to accommodate me the same day. Highly recommended!!

They were every bit as good as all of you said they'd be. and I most of the time think these things are fake that are posted on here, but I'm guessing now they're not!!! They took such great care of my pup, and there is no better feeling than when you're babes are taken care of by people who YOU believe care, and aren't just "doing their job". Great, Great place. They are officially the family vet, and I will be referring them too! :)

I just recently switched to this office because I was dissatisfied with my other vet. I started taking my puppy there initially for grooming, but the staff was so knowledgeable that I switched very quickly. They are very interested in what is best for your pet. They don't just do things because that is the way it has always been. They take extra precautionary steps to ensure the safety of the animals. I love how good both the staff AND the vet are with my dog.

They gave me great advice on how to train my puppy. I also brought my puppy in for a few vaccinations to protect him from infectious diseases.
