We have been taking our two dogs to Southside Place for over seven years. They are a bit more expensive, but worth it for the money because of the care and attention they give to our fur babies. Recently, we had to put one of our dogs down, and this week we received the kindest card in the mail, signed by the staff, with a paw print from our late pet. The fact that they took the time and effort to put together the card makes them the best in my book.

We are first time puppy owners. On our first visit with Meatloaf, we had about 7 million questions and Dr. Lanerie took the time to answer all of them, ranging from food choices to his behavior. We took Meatloaf back for multiple visits to get all of his shots taken care of, and each time they treated Meatloaf with kindness and tried to keep him comfortable. Sadly, we have relocated , but we'd recommend Southside Place Animal Hospital to anyone in Houston who needs care for their furry friend.

Dr. Reyna and her staff have always gone above and beyond to ensure the health of our 11 year old beagle. He boards at Southside Place regularly and we are confident that the standard of care is the same in our absence, as it is when we are in the office with him. They call him by name on arrival, and he is happy for all the extra pats and love he gets from the staff. Bonus: my kids love the cat that lives there!

We have used Southside Place Animal Hospital for the last 6 years and have always been extremely happy with all of their services. Their vets are extremely knowledgeable and excellent at explaining any details of our pets’ care. Their front office is welcoming and professional. We have boarded our puggle there several times and he loves all the attention he gets. We feel so lucky to have Southside Place Animal Hospital to care for our animals and keep them happy and safe while we are away.

i was not happy with Southside Place Animal Hospital as a boarding facility. i don't think my Shih Tzu was let out or walked (i paid for extra walk); she was returned with pee stains on her coat and paws, which has never happened before. When i questioned them, i was told to take her somewhere that had 24 hour attendants. I will never board her there again and probably discontinue using them as her regular vet.

I have been here a few times with all my pets and they are WONDERFUL. They are very knowledgeable and kind. The staff is always very helpful. Even helped me carry my cats to my car !!! Old fashioned good help is SO hard to find. I highly recommend them. We are planning on using them for boarding for the holidays as well. We are so excited. Even my dog likes going here.

So I have an 8 year old son, Nigel (Weimaraner) and a 5 year old daughter, Olive Eloise (Chihuahua/Dachsund mix) who have only known the care of Southside Place. I love the location, the owner and the staff. My animals have always been treated with the best, most loving care and I would not trust another vet clinic to handle my children. The vets, Dr. F, Dr. L, Dr. T and Dr. R are unique in their pawside manner but all highly interactive and competent. The vets are very intelligent and respond to phone calls and emergency situations. After 8 years and two healthy pups I feel grateful for the clinic. I am sure there are lower cost clinics around but there is a trade-off with service and care that I am not willing to make. I was also living on a student's budget for 3 of the years I've had my dogs so the prices are affordable otherwise I would have found another vet. People who had a bad experience with the clinic are people who brought it with them to their visit. Only good energy here! We love you guys, xxx Angeli, Nigies and Olive.

I am new to Houston and finding a vet is more serious than finding my own doctor and dentist lol. I love my dog and he probably does get better medical care than I do, so trust me I take finding a good vet seriously. I camw across reviews about this place and since it is near me I decided to give it a try for my baby's annual exam and shots. They were great from the beginning, making copies of all 8 yrs of medical records I brought detailing my baby's history. The vet tech and vet were very sweet and gentle, and gave me info on bugs I needed to look out for in the area as well as urgent care vet facilities. Will definitely be back!

TERRIBLE customer service, and incorrect information given. I was told that I would be charged an office charge in order to purchase a flea and tick pill. I called 5 other vets, who told me I did not even need to bring my dog with me to get a pill. Unfortunately, they only sold them in 6 packs, and I only needed a single pill. The 6th vet I called, sold them individually; I picked up the pill for the same price as Southside and I didn't even bring my dog along, let alone pay for an office visit!
I have worked in vet clinics, and been a customer of many clinics over a 20 year span. This was by far my worst experience ever. The saddest part was that I spoke directly with the owner of Southside! Awful customer service!
I cannot believe they have so many stars, when half of the reviews are extremely negative.

I see someone who worked there several years ago posted. She is correct. I don't recommend this vet practice at all as a client or an employee. I also worked there a few years ago and Dr. F was horrible. I had a horrific experience working for her. I have never been treated so bad in my life. To this date, the thought of my experience there still haunts me. I have always been an excellent employee, RVT graduated top of my class. I did a google search just out of curiosity to see if the clinic is still in business. I'm surprised to see that it is.

Whoa, WHY such poor reviews here?! I love Southside Place Animal Hospital. I moved to Texas a little more than a year ago and finding a good vet was the absolute most important priority on my list. Like for real, I take my dog's health more seriously than my own.I'll be honest though, I only chose this place because this is where my sister and brother in law take their dogs, and I don't rightly know how they came upon it, but I'm glad to have followed their lead.My dog Neela is 5 years old, but she's had a few strange issues in her short little life. Last December something VERY alarming was happening with her (she wouldn't move, was hiding and not eating or going to the bathroom) and I of course rushed her to Southside Place. They very quickly figured out that in her breed, they can be susceptible to slipped discs in their spine and they prescribed a very strict regimen and list of drugs and she has been fine ever since. Dr. Reyna is Neela's vet usually but I've dealt with both Dr. Lanerie and Dr. Frei and they are all outstanding veterinarians with such compassion and great bedside manner. Additionally, ALL of their vet technicians are also extremely sweet and kind. I also must mention that their administrative staff definitely meets all the standards of good customer service as well. I strongly recommend this place!!

What a wonderful place for your pet to get the best care ever. I've been taking my pets to this Animal Hospital for quite a while. But recently one of my pets had a very serious illness and I received the best, most attentive care for him. I am so thankful for the recovery of my pet because of this team of outstanding vets and understanding staff. They cared for him, talked to him and always used his name and allowed me to call way too many times to check on him. When I wasn't calling them, they were calling me. This is a great team. If you're looking for excellent care for your pet but in a warm and caring atmosphere, you've found it!

The vets, Dr. F, Dr. L, Dr. T and Dr. R are unique in their pawside manner but all highly interactive and competent. The vets are very intelligent and respond to phone calls and emergency situations. After 8 years and two healthy pups I feel grateful for the clinic. I am sure there are lower cost clinics around but there is a trade-off with service and care that I am not willing to make. I was also living on a student's budget for 3 of the years I've had my dogs so the prices are affordable otherwise I would have found another vet. People who had a bad experience with the clinic are people who brought it with them to their visit. Only good energy here! We love you guys, xxx Angeli, Nigies and Olive.

I am new to Houston and finding a vet is more serious than finding my own doctor and dentist lol. I love my dog and he probably does get better medical care than I do, so trust me I take finding a good vet seriously. I camw across reviews about this place and since it is near me I decided to give it a try for my baby's annual exam and shots. They were great from the beginning, making copies of all 8 yrs of medical records I brought detailing my baby's history. The vet tech and vet were very sweet and gentle, and gave me info on bugs I needed to look out for in the area as well as urgent care vet facilities. Will definitely be back!

TERRIBLE customer service, and incorrect information given. I was told that I would be charged an office charge in order to purchase a flea and tick pill. I called 5 other vets, who told me I did not even need to bring my dog with me to get a pill. Unfortunately, they only sold them in 6 packs, and I only needed a single pill. The 6th vet I called, sold them individually; I picked up the pill for the same price as Southside and I didn't even bring my dog along, let alone pay for an office visit!
I have worked in vet clinics, and been a customer of many clinics over a 20 year span. This was by far my worst experience ever. The saddest part was that I spoke directly with the owner of Southside! Awful customer service!
I cannot believe they have so many stars, when half of the reviews are extremely negative.

I see someone who worked there several years ago posted. She is correct. I don't recommend this vet practice at all as a client or an employee. I also worked there a few years ago and Dr. F was horrible. I had a horrific experience working for her. I have never been treated so bad in my life. To this date, the thought of my experience there still haunts me. I have always been an excellent employee, RVT graduated top of my class. I did a google search just out of curiosity to see if the clinic is still in business. I'm surprised to see that it is.

Whoa, WHY such poor reviews here?! I love Southside Place Animal Hospital. I moved to Texas a little more than a year ago and finding a good vet was the absolute most important priority on my list. Like for real, I take my dog's health more seriously than my own.I'll be honest though, I only chose this place because this is where my sister and brother in law take their dogs, and I don't rightly know how they came upon it, but I'm glad to have followed their lead.My dog Neela is 5 years old, but she's had a few strange issues in her short little life. Last December something VERY alarming was happening with her (she wouldn't move, was hiding and not eating or going to the bathroom) and I of course rushed her to Southside Place. They very quickly figured out that in her breed, they can be susceptible to slipped discs in their spine and they prescribed a very strict regimen and list of drugs and she has been fine ever since. Dr. Reyna is Neela's vet usually but I've dealt with both Dr. Lanerie and Dr. Frei and they are all outstanding veterinarians with such compassion and great bedside manner. Additionally, ALL of their vet technicians are also extremely sweet and kind. I also must mention that their administrative staff definitely meets all the standards of good customer service as well. I strongly recommend this place!!

What a wonderful place for your pet to get the best care ever. I've been taking my pets to this Animal Hospital for quite a while. But recently one of my pets had a very serious illness and I received the best, most attentive care for him. I am so thankful for the recovery of my pet because of this team of outstanding vets and understanding staff. They cared for him, talked to him and always used his name and allowed me to call way too many times to check on him. When I wasn't calling them, they were calling me. This is a great team. If you're looking for excellent care for your pet but in a warm and caring atmosphere, you've found it!
