Vca Jones Road Animal Hospital

Houston, Texas
General Info
Vca Jones Road Animal Hospital situated in Houston conducts veterinary appointments by navigating a sensory map which begins at comfort entry points before progressing into diagnostic zones for pets throughout Texas. Veterinary consultations initiate with spatial perimeter assessments to observe pets' space perception including zone avoidance patterns and pace modulation speed. Upon initiating interaction, the clinic team examines body-system signals starting with fur density and touch tolerance before assessing oral health and joint range followed by abdominal flexibility. Owner observations are factored in with equal weight: recent stalling before stairs changes in how the animal sleeps or guards objects or shifts in interaction timing with household members. Vca Jones Road Animal Hospital delivers medical mapping services which encompass orthopedic planning along with cardiovascular listening and hydration tracking while also performing dermatological checks and immune calibration together with energy-rest cycles. Healthcare protocols incorporate recovery periods where even short diagnostic procedures are divided into parts to avoid cumulative stress. Adjustments to noise levels, scent layering and personnel proximity occur according to each animal's responses at respective thresholds. Veterinary aftercare instructions depend on specific behavioral indicators such as the duration needed for pets to reach their normal state, their chosen hiding spots within the home, and the progression or delay of social interactions. Support persists via visual touchpoint logs alongside optional sensory behavior debriefs. Vca Jones Road Animal Hospital delivers veterinary care to Houston and its surrounding Texas areas by transforming each visit into a movement-based exploration where pet signals are read continuously from check-in through every room transition and posture change.

I recently visited and brought our long hair cat in for grooming. He also had an appointment with the groomer about 5-6 weeks ago. After having him groomed satisfactorily for the last year or so....very satisfactorily...I'm sad to say that I am going to investigate other places to have him groomed. The time before last I was informed that he hissed at one of the groomers. This cat barely hisses when he's stepped on so I was suspicious there might be another reason. I discovered the next day there was a bald spot and broken skin on his back where the groomer had cut too deep. I decided to give the groomer one more try. After this most recent visit I picked him up assuming that everything was taken care of. The next day, I cut nearly 7 mats off his backside and the back of his rear legs. The mats are a critical element of us bringing him in for grooming. If I have to follow behind and finish the job, the $75 charge is definitely not worth it. I sent a letter to their office a week ago but have received no reply. If there is "another side to the story", I would be most interested to hear it. Otherwise, we'll find another vet clinic and groomer for our four kitties Read Less

Came here for the first time this week when we noticed our dog's, ahem - lady parts, were red, swollen and causing her pain. She also had a broken and bleeding nail. I don't get home until 7pm so trying to find a vet in our area that is open late, is a task in itself. Animal Hospital on Jones is open until 9pm so they were our saving grace. They were able to book us same day during their last appointment slot - 8pm. When we arrived we didnt wait long. A technician had us in a room within a few minutes. They ended up doing a urine test, wrapped the bleeding nail, cut the rest of her nails and gave us some antibiotics. It was $199 for the entire visit including the cost of the exam. Overall, the facility was clean, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable and more importantly, the vet took the time to answer all our questions and it didn't feel rushed. I highly recommend taking all your furry friends here. We'll be back with our other pets soon. Read Less

Monday night was my first time going to Animal Hospital Jones Rd for my 9 year old Golden Retriever urinating blood. I was impressed by how quickly they had me seen and was thankful they were open late but that went down hill very shortly. Bloodwork, urinalysis and x rays were discussed and approved to do, sterile samples of urine are always recommended when dealing with blood in urine but no one was in any hurry to collect that cysto, so my dog urinated 3 times in their clinic and the only sample they took the time to collect, was the sample off the floor which can lead to a false reading. So, they take him back and they collect blood (which by the way, they charge you $16.00 for just the act of them drawing the blood), they do the x rays and an hour later, my dog is still not back. I know that they put him in a kennel instead of returning him to me so I asked for them to bring him back to my room. They brought him back COVERED in his urine and blood. All four paws and his stomach were soaked and he smelled AWFUL because they allowed him to lay in his own filth. I asked the tech if she could take him back and bathe him off. She told me that she would bring me some baby wipes with hydrogen peroxide, pretty much telling me that I can clean him up. This time I demanded her to take him back and clean the blood and urine off my BLONDE golden retriever to which she did. Moving on to the estimate that they gave me. So I knew this was going to be expensive but they were charging for stuff that was not necessary. I have a 70# dog and they wanted to charge an ultrasound fee for the doctor to have a guided cysto.. the doctor could easily feel his bladder with her hand and stick the needle right in. She did not need the ultrasound machine to do that. Decline. They had 2 charges for their medical waste fee. One of $3.25 and another of $2.60 ON TOP of the $16 fee they want to charge you just to draw the blood. So now I am paying for them to do their job and to dispose of their waste... can't that Β be included in the ridiculous $16 fee? Unfortunately, they don't let you draw your own dogs blood so I couldn't decline that. I ended up spending 2.5 hours and $511 for them to tell me he had a UTI. Cool. Thankfully, I have pet insurance and will submit this once I get all my records back for reimbursement but here is the kicker, they wont fax the insurance form to the insurance company..... why? no idea when they have everything the insurance company needs. I will return ONE time for his follow up in 2 weeks and will only return after that if no other clinics are open. 2 stars given because they are open until 9. Read Less

So I'm going to be honest and humble here and describe my experience so that others can be prepared when they come to this place. It is NOT a bashing. I've been coming here for 4 months now ever since I got my puppy. We signed up for their puppy plan which gives all the necessary shots and deworming for a VERY affordable price. Our first 3 visits were awesome. The vet and techs and receptionists were awesome. So then let's fast forward to the last 2 visits. 2 of the most stressful exeperiences for me recently. Let's talk about the techs. I brought my puppy in because she wasn't acting like her normal self. I was extremely concerned that something serious was going on with her. With that in mind, I do not need a tech whom I've never even seen before trying to lecture me on how I should train my dog. Unsolicited advice on how I should train my dog. I'm here to see if my pup has anything wrong with her not to hear "training" advice that I didn't ask for from someone who has probably never trained a dog before. I have a very distinct plan of my puppys training that I'm working with people who have been professionally training thousands of dogs for decades. 2 different techs were telling me and my girlfriend how we should be training our puppy. I would have just let this slide but like I said, we were there because we were trying to figure out what was wrong with our puppy. And after I left the room and came back, the vet that we've never seen before was giving my girlfriend training advice lol. Seriously. And then another tech came in and was about to give my puppy treats and start a training session. Unacceptable. This is not YOUR dog. This is MY dog. I am the one who trains her, not you. And she does not train with food. But how would the tech know that, it's not like she asked or anything. She just took it upon herself to do whatever she wanted...with MY dog. I have a specific training program outlined to ensure that my puppy doesn't grow up to be agressive because her breed can display agressive behavior. Advice for patients: do not let these techs tell you how to raise your dog. Advice for techs: DO NOT SOLICIT TRAINING ADVICE OR FOOD TO YOUR PET PATIENTS. it may be hard to believe, but some of us took the time and effort to learn how to train our dogs. Read Less

We have been going to the Jones Road location for about 4-5 years, once we moved to the Northwest side of town. For the first couple of years, service and the doctors were excellent. The vet was a little more pricey than the last one, but worth it for our fur babies. The last couple of years, though, has been hit or miss, with the last few months being mostly a miss. The only doctor we have seen that we really liked was Dr. Powell. He is amazing, but he's hard to get in to see due to our schedules. We haven't cared for any of the other doctors, and we never get a clear diagnosis from them. We always end up coming back for repeat visits with treatment not working, doing more bloodwork or xrays, racking up another huge bill. We have spent thousands there. The last straw was on Saturday when my Samson had a bout of diarrhea that had been ongoing for 18 hours, and I called the vet to get him in at around 11am (they are open until 5pm). This snotty girl who answered the phone said there were no appointments. I had to ask about emergencies, which she said were $25 extra, but she could not guarantee how long we would have to wait around to be seen. She then told me they took walk-ins on Sundays. I didn't mind having to be worked in, it was just the way she said it - and then assuming that after asking for an emergency appointment that my dog could wait until Sunday to be seen (another 12 hours). We ended up at the emergency vet off 249 to get care that was twice as expensive. But at least our Samson was seen quickly and was given a big does of fluids and some medicine. He's now doing great. We're trying a new vet today who has more reasonable costs. Read Less

AVOID AVOID AVOID! PRICE GOUGERS! We have an emergency situation with our cat who is 9 years old. Tonight 12/30/2015 I noticed our cat was not acting her normal self and I noticed she was meowing weird. Thinking she may have something in her throat I was able to get her to open her mouth. I did see a small piece of metal in her throat and immediately tried to find a vet to take her at 6:30 almost 7 at night. I called a place on Barker Cypress was just closing who referred me to Animal Hospital at Jones Road, since their hours are until 9 pm. I called BEFORE I went to find out their pricing and how much it would be to sedate her. The woman on the phone told me it would be 49.50 to see her as an exam and then for sedation to remove whatever it was would be $120.00 if they had to do surgery she said it would be around $200.00 I even repeated the amount back to her and said so if she NEEDS SURGERY it will be $200.00 and the tech said YES. She said if I didn't get there until after 8pm the price for the exam would go up $30.00. We got there by 7:40 and they immediately took our cat back and a tech returned and said she was stable, she wasn't running fever and the vet would be out to talk to us. We spoke with the vet and she said she could attempt to remove it but that she wasn't sure IF she could get it out and we may have to go to a specialist. She said they would get a print out of what it would cost to remove the metal, whatever it is, and we were taken into a room to wait. To our SHOCK they come back with a sticker price $779.95. Are you freaking kidding me? They said she needed two xrays to see how far down the metal piece was. Well I could clearly see the part of the metal piece was within reach to pull it out with tweezers so it wasn't so far down that you couldn't see it so I don't feel that 2 x rays were even necessary. So they went from a price of $200.00 to $779.95. We did accept a shot of pain medication until I can get her to our regular vet in the morning at Black Horse Animal Hospital in Cypress. Our one dog, a mini schnauzer, had a emergency hysterectomy last year and it was a TOTAL cost of $300.00 for EMERGENCY surgery and an overnight stay. These people are ripping people off and really don't love the animals or else they wouldn't do this to unsuspecting people. They jipped me with a price of $200.00 just so they could pocket $49. office exam. They HAVE to know normal people can't and SHOULDN'T have to pay astronomical amounts of money to get the emergency care they need for their animals. Just so this vet can live in her multi million dollar house and driver her lexus or mercedes car? No, this wasn't right all they are doing is jacking up the price on people when they need the help the most. We had to leave without our cat getting the help she needed thanks to this establishments greed. Extremely upsetting. Read Less

I am not sure how I feel about this place, it is pretty hit or miss when it comes to the staff and vets. I had one vet who was pretty rude to me and basically made me feel like a bad owner when I tried to talk through prices on various treatment options. She also lied when she said over the counter treatments were not effective, when another vet I knew told me that it was fine and more cost effective for me. I am not sure if she is there anymore, but after a few visits with her I was ready to leave this vet. Sometimes I get the feeling they are more about their profits. Some of the other vets were very sweet though. Also. You have one staff there that REALLY need a course in customer relations. The chubby white girl with brown hair who sometimes sits at the front is the NASTIEST person I have met. She talks down to me EVERY time I have to deal with her, and I've seen her get into arguments with customers over the phone (I've seen someone in the back lecture her about it too). If I come back and she treats me like a moron one more time, I am switching vets because I will not put up with her disrespect. Please talk with your staff. Before going here, you really have to decide if you want to deal with a revolving number of vets & vet techs. The owner of this clinic can't seem to keep the same people for more than a year or so. Makes you wonder why. I've had good, bad & mediocre service here depending on who's on call. The owner (which operates out of their Champions Northwest location reccomended $700.00+ of tests to determine what type of skin condition our dog had. We went to another vet (where we still go) and they did a simple skin test, which gave them the info they needed. We statrted a medication immediately and the condition has been treated successfully ever since. The vet we use now has only two vets, one who is the owner and the other who has been there several years. The Jones Road operation is similar to the dentists and eye doctors in town that use their name or brand name, but you never see the owner/doctor. You see the fresh out of grad school newbies, that are testing their new diplomas out on you (or in our case, our pet)! No thank you! Read Less

Vca Jones Road Animal Hospital

Houston, Texas
(29)
9570 Jones Rd
Houston Texas 77065

Read Less
