I took my Penny for the first time last Friday and they did such a great job. They addressed her problems, gave her the medication she needed and Penny was back to her talkative, normal self. I appreciated how prompt they were and they even took us in earlier. They were very caring with her. I think I was a lot more nervous than Penny. I am so happy to have found them and happy to know Penny now has some where to go if she should need anything..Great place, Totally recommend them! I can not say enough about the care given to our family dogs, Daisy and Lucy, over the past 10 years by VVC, but then that was expected.......but what separates VVC from the rest was when I brought in a stray and her pups that were dumped off by our neighborhood, they treated them like our family dogs and immediately took them in and did exactly what I asked. When I picked them up to bring them home and start the process of finding them a home, I noticed a reduction in the price they charged me....a very nice price reduction...they called it a Good Samaritan discount, heck VVC is a good Samaritan everyday. My husband and I are driving across the US with our two dogs Jack and Star Wars. When one morning we woke up to find our Miniature Australian Shepherd Star Wars sick and throwing up. In a panic my husband and I found an emergency veterinary clinic, as we were walking to that clinic we found Village Veterinary Clinic. We decided to try Village Veterinary Clinic and it was the best decision ever! Dr. Landry and all the staff treated us as if we were family. Dr. Landry took such good care of Star Wars, he (Star Wars) was able to go home with us the following day. I can't thank all the staff and Dr. Landry enough for making our sick Star Wars all better. My rescue dog, who is nervous in new situations and particularly with men, has had routine exams by Dr. Walsh twice--so glad there are both male and female vets at this clinic. I've started taking my dog here after hearing good things from a friend. Both Dr. Walsh and Dr. Landry are amazing and explain things very well. My expectations are met each and every time I come here. I've never had to wait more than five minutes after checking in, and scheduling an appointment was really easy. Robin has always found an appointment that works for me and I think my dog has a crush on Shana, one of the Techs. Shana is always gentle with our dog and quickly gets all of the procedural stuff out of the way. This place is a little bit pricier than say Banefield a few miles down I-10 but in my experience the practice is just better and worth it. I would recommend this place to anyone with a pet. VV took care of our first Golden-Nick, our second Golden-Sugar, and our big boy Golden-Chevis over the last 9 years! Special thanks to the entire staff who affectionately dubbed Chevis' howling as "Chrismas carols" during one particular holiday boarding visit and especially to Dr. Miller and Shana who were so great when it was time to say Good Bye to our dearly loved family pet. When my husband and I decided to get our first puppy together, this is the vet we picked. They were absolutely amazing. We got her spayed here as well as her normal checkups and we have never had a bad experience. Since then, we've moved to Louisiana and changing vets has been simple as Village Vet has been so helpful in sending her records. I don't have one complaint! Read Less

I have been going to Dr. Miller and Dr. Welch at Village Veterinary Clinic for about 5 years now with our mixed lab Buddy, who had special health needs . We have always been more than satisfied with the staff and service that Village Vet Clinic provides. Sadly, we lost our lab Buddy this March due to a tragic accident, he survived , but developed spinal cord paralysis that left us with no choice but to euthanize Buddy. We were heartbroken. Dr. Miller called us to sympathize with us after the euthanasia. Fast forward 6 weeks later : we received a letter from Texas A&M University School of Veterinary Medicine, the Dean and Associate Dean had received a donation in Buddy's memory to their discretionary assistance fund to help an injured/sick animal in need. We were overwhelmed with gratitude at this thoughtful gesture . That gift in Buddy's memory was the best gift that we have received in a very, very long time, and it came from our veterinary clinic ! Referred by former veterinarian to this practice because of moving in area. Staff was very proactive in getting us registered as a new patient. Staff proactively worked with former vets staff in transferring of records. Quick turnaround time and was greeted by Sam Miller DVM. Excellent service and they even gave us Christmas toys. I absolutely love this Veterinary clinic.  I have used every vet here and they are all fantastic, but my personal favorite is the new female vet who is extremely patient and thorough and will always follow up with a call if there was a potential issue.  I have recommended several friends of mine from the memorial area and they all have had excellent experiences.  I am a dog owner and have extremely high standards for its care and this is only clinic I have been to where I know I'm getting world-class treatment on a consistent basis. Village Vet has been part of my life for 30 years. I wouldn't trust my babies with anyone else. I recently had to say goodbye my 14 1/2 year old dog and they helped me through it in so many ways. I've gone here for years with multiple pets (cats & dogs) and always have a pretty good experience.  Things seem reasonably priced (though I've never had to deal with major surgeries like some other reviewers), and the vets (I've had many different ones) are willing to answer all of my questions -- after a little pushing. It does kind of have a dog lover's feel to it though, since they only carry dog treats. Read Less

I was a loyal customer her for at least 12 years with no issues.  They changed Vets several times, but I was always happy with the care.  We moved and continued to drive back here because they knew my 2 dogs.Fast forward.  New Vet said that my 12 tear old dog needed her teeth cleaned which would require anesthesia.  Never heard of cleaning a dog's teeth, but they said it would make her live longer.  So, I agreed.  Then they wanted to cut off some fatty deposits while she was under.  Totally unnecessary as we put her through a lot of pain and they grew right back.  This bill was over $500!Then, they ran blood tests on my other dog and said he had heart worms.  The treatment was over $800.  I was shocked because my dogs are indoor dogs and we did heart worm meds.  We missed only 2 weeks of these meds. So, he had me give him 2 pills a day for 2 weeks to prepare for the treatment.  We questioned the diagnosis, and they showed us lab results confirming diagnosis.  I considered getting a second opinion and should have.  Anyways, we took him in for the main treatment (which I hear is very hard on dogs).  He was supposed to stay overnight.  I got a call that afternoon from the Vet.  He said he had good news and bad news.  Good news was that he reran labs and my dog DID NOT have heart worms after all.  Bad news was the lab was wrong the first time!So, he said to pick up my dog and that the bill would only be $380.00.  I hit the roof.  I said,"so I paid for and gave my dog 2 weeks of unnecessary medications due to your mistake, and you want to charge me money?" He said "Well, you were going to pay $800."  As if congratulating himself for telling the truth!  Then I told him he had just lost a customer.  He said he would only charge me $180 to cover his costs because the additional tests (that he did not clear with me first) "gave us good information". My helper who takes the dogs for me since I am disabled and do not drive, went to argue with him on the charge,. He begrudgingly dropped them.  I will never go back!!!More info;  Dr. Landry called me multiple times to resolve.  I think he felt very bad about all of this.  He offered to refund the cost of the meds.  Found receipt for $138.00.  Lab required me to bring my dog in for further blood tests to disprove heart worms before they would do a refund.  My dog is very skittish, and I don't live close, so I declined.  I was contacted and asked to take this review down.  I have changed vets, but will increase stars on this review due to the efforts made to make this situation right.
