I took my dog monster here today, after having a terrible experience at penny paws yesterday. And i just want to say im so empressed and amazed by the politeness of the staff, My dog who has anxiety was very nervous like she always gets at the vet,and the staff took the time to let her get used to them before assessing her,and that has never been done for her before other vets immediately starts messing with her and it freaks her out even more. Dr.Moore was so Nice, the Vet at penny paws made me feel so horrible, but Dr.Moore was so understanding when i explained my dogs history to her and she really listened. And that made me feel better as a pet parent. Her tech that was helping care for monster was so sweet. And the tech at the front desk even tried to pet monster and tried to get to know her. It was great. Read Less

My elderly cat was experiencing some anal gland issues and my mom was concerned and called any vets that would hopefully let her be seen (our usual vet is closed on Sundays). Banfield Hurst was the only one of many phone calls to let us stop by without appointment. My mom arrived and my cat was quickly helped without much waiting time at all. Genesis helped my mom with the bill and was very kind and considerate, they also gave us supplies to help my cat out with no additional charge and offered advice. My mom later called with questions and a woman named Shelly gave clear and helpful answers and made us feel a lot better about my cats situation. Thank y'all for your kindness today, this little old kitty means a lot to us and you helped us feel like she would be okay! Read Less

I want you to know the level of profession Banfield associates are working on. I€ve been with Banfield since October of 2016. We were in NC where we had our first incident with Banfield in Morehead City. I won€t go into detail with that location because that happened in December of 2016. Recently my husband and I have moved out of the country. Due to costs, we weren€t able to bring our pet during our move. We are now trying to get him overseas, at our own costs, so that is why we recently took our pet to the Banfield in Hurst, Texas. (860 N E Mall Blvd, Hurst, TX 76053) The Banfield in Irving, Texas was not offering the Titer Blood Testing which is why I had to have my sister bring our pet to the Hurst location. The associate/receptionist was very over powering during our conversation. I would try to speak and she would just interrupt me and speak over me. I was trying to explain to her quarantine days here in Japan because I had already spoke to the Veterinary services here so I had a clear understanding of what needed to be done. This associate kept telling me over and over that I would not be able to get my dog over there for 180 days because the blood testing would take that long to get back. Mind you, she was still being overbearing and overpowering with her words. When I had the chance, I explained to her what the correct circumstances were and that I€ve already spoken to the veterinary services here in Japan so that she would know for future experiences. She then set me up an appointment and the days moved on. I then get a phone call from my sister who is handling the veterinary care stating that Doctor Moore had told her, €I heard through the grapevine€ that I was being extremely rude to an associate and that they weren€t going to be able to take care of your pet if this continued. This is the first I€ve heard of it. I don€t understand why I didn€t get a courtesy call explaining the situation so I called the Doctor which she had to call me back due to an emergency. Forty-five minutes later I get a phone call and Doctor Moore had stated that I had called the associate an Idiot. I was deeply hurt by this lie that had been created. I cried over the phone because I was in shock and disbelief. I told Doctor Moore that I cannot believe she can trust an associate that lies about her customers and how could she have gotten this far in her work. How can you trust an associate with a customer, let alone her job if she lies to her boss? That is completely un-professional. Then Doctor Moore stated that she trusts her associate because she has been working with her for so long. I didn€t know working with someone for so long was more important than carefully observing them in their work space and how they treat customers. I would never want this to happen to another customer. I read the reviews on this location a few days after this incident and I should€ve read them earlier. The reviews completely back up that this location is not the best at serving customers. I advise that you don€t take this incident lightly. I will not be returning to Banfield when my Wellness Plan is up in October of this year. Due to paying a fee for cancelling, I unfortunately have to wait. I am greatly disappointed in Banfield. Do not take your pets here. Even with the coupon for a free visit. The lady at the front desk was nice, but quoted us a price for a service we were looking into at the front desk that we decided to get done. When we got to the back room with the doctor and her assistant, we were told the service was double the price. Wanting to ensure my kitten had the test done, we obliged anyways. They immediately began the services without explaining any of what they were doing before we did it and did not tell us any of the side effects of the dewormer they gave him. They seemed like they cared more about how cute and small and young he was than his health. We are now in the local animal emergency room for my 6 week old kitten with bloody diarrhea from whatever they gave him. I will not be returning, ESPECIALLY because they (by they, I mean EVERY employee I spoke to) would not stop trying to get me to buy that ridiculously overpriced "health plan". Read Less

Let me say first off, the front staff, amazing and understanding people.  I cannot fault them.  Whom I loath though is their vet on-staff that day.  A grumpy old dude.  More on him in a min....I travel with my dog often.  She gets skin issues, she has a sensitive stomach, whatever.  Just when I think "wow it's been a calm month," she surprises me with the runs or throwing up randomly.  Just to spite me I swear.  This is what makes banfield so great, there are locations every where I frequently travel...In this case, we called in the morning to make an appt to check out some skin issues, but more importantly to check the recent bout of diarrhea she has been having.  We think it was from some heart worm meds a few days earlier, but it's been a 2+ days since?  We're on a monthly wellness plan, why not take her in for a check me thinks? They were full when I called in.  No problem, I'm assured.  We could leave her there for the day until someone found the time to examine her.As we get there, and get to the counter and start to check in, a door opens in the back, an older gentlemen in a lab coat, I presume the vet on staff for that day?  Basically yells out, "No more!"  Shakes his fist at an angry god, and SLAMS the door.  Basically directed at the front staff, to not take any more pets.Holy hell I wanted to give him a piece of my mind.  I felt really bad for the front staff that have to work with him.  This man has NO place working there; or anywhere for that matter if he has to interact with customers. We promptly left even though we "could," have left our pet there.  Drove 20min out of our way to a different banfield and had her checked out there.  No thanks to that gumpy old man. I wouldn't even use Banfield as I have a regular, amazing vet in Bedford, however, I use the doggie daycare services at this Petsmart and sometimes it is easier to have services done while my dog is at daycare. This is the second time now that I have suspected they have not done the service they have claimed. The daycare center is amazing and they do state that Banfield comes to get my pet to do the service, but last time I took my dog home that night he absolutely had the same issues as last time. Even worse, I waited 25 minutes when I came to get my dog - just to PAY! They had one girl working at the front and at least 5 people in front of me. They have terrible customer service at Banfield at this location. It's so discouraging. And worse yet, my regular vet charges $15 for this same service Banfield charges $25 for - but I do it for convenience. Never again will I trust them. Take the time to research local, independent vets. We have a great one in Bedford. She's a small shop but charges 1/4 the price of Banfield, has an exceptional staff, and always is compassionate and kind and detailed. I've learned my lesson of taking convenience over quality. Also, kudos to the Doggie Daycamp staff at this location. They are the best around and my dog absolutely loves going there. Banfield could learn a thing or two from the Daycamp staff. Read Less

We have been using this clinic for years.  We have been paying monthly for the Wellness Plan that they offer for the dogs.  With all the other services that they tack on, you don't save any money, but it seemed like a good deal with the "discounts".  The people up front were usually nice.  We talked to the vet a few times and nice there too.  But we rarely got anything more than factory style service and consideration. Now, 3 months after 1 of our 3 dogs died, we are still paying for the monthly plan.  They neglected to mention that the the monthly charge MUST be paid for a full year, regardless of whether you have a living animal. They claim to be doing you a favor, after the fact, by calling it a "financing option". My wife and I NEVER FINANCE ANYTHING, so the fact that they try to pawn this off as a nice thing they do to offer a monthly financing for a year's worth of service is just sickening.  We apparently have many months to pay for the lost dog's lack of services.  No offer was given to pay any bills for the year that they would have collected off of the plan (since that would have been nothing).  There was no buyout offered at all.  No sort of remorse. Oh, and did I mention that you cannot talk to the store people, but rather call some other state on the phone so they can hide behind the veil of a phone connection? Regardless of however they want to try and sugarcoat it. A mediocre experience for years turned absolutely awful because of a thoughtlessly designed program. We are done and will go and find a new vet that actually cares about us and our dogs. Read Less

My 6 mo border collie had missing fur around her eye for a couple weeks before i finally had the money to take her to the vet. I took her to this vet when it was extremely icy outside and was just not in the best of moods. The vet tech was VERY friendly, he was really good with my dog, especially since she is very scared of men. He was calm and gentle with her. The vet came in and was very nice and seemed to know what he was talking about at least in diagnosing. They said she had puppy mange, did a skin scrape test and a skin impression (don't get this, waste of money... just go for the skin scrape). He came back in and told us we needed to have her on ivermectin (heartgard) for 3 months. Thank god I remembered that the breeder mentioned something about heartworm medicines, so I asked him if that was okay to give to a border collie. he said he thought she was a spaniel! she doesn't look anything like a spaniel at all. In case you dont know, heartgard can be fatal in high doses to border collies. While heartgard would have been the medicine of choice for mange, it should never be given to a collie. Moral of the story, ALWAYS REMEMBER keep yourself informed, research what doctors/vets tell you to make sure its appropriate. The vet and vet tech seemed knowledgeable and friendly enough, but the vet obviously didn't read the chart about her being a border collie (and even questioned me if i knew for sure she was a border collie, i had her registration papers there with me and had to pull them out to prove it!). While nothing bad happened from this experience, I think I will just go to another vet next time. I don't want to have to worry about my dog dying from medication! Read Less

The vet here is fantastic. We have a 6yr old weimeraner who is not a fan of vets (go figure), and he was really good with her. He was young, but very thorough. We actually walked out of Watauga because they wanted to charge us for xrays, bloodwork, and heaven knows what else, for an increased appetite - no thanks. Plus, Watauga's guy vet was cocky, didn't like that at ALL. Found someone else here while waiting who encountered the same thing at that other location.Staff here at the Hurst location was great. The vet tech was wonderful. She was kind with our dog and asked the right questions. Really helpful and knowledgeable. It means a lot to find a decent vet who has a gentle bedside manner, won't charge you for unnecessary things, and wants to do the right thing for your pet. We had a saint of a vet in AZ, so glad we found someone good here in TX. Will drive the extra mile to get to this one. Read Less

Read Less
