Great Vet. When we moved to the area we bounced between a couple places. After coming here we never looked back. Docs. Genie and Daryl are great. We love em' and they obviously love animals. We definitely feel like our family members are in good hands with these folks. When we move away we will probably continue to come here unless the commute becomes unbearable. Read Less

I have brought 3 dogs here. My Molly had surgery to remove tumor. Dr Wortley was great, surgery went well. Everyone is so nice here. They have reasonable prices. The veterinarians and the staff really love the animals. Dr Daryl is very patient and explains everything so I can understand. Jerry was so helpful at getting my records transferred from my old vet. They have a nice size waiting area, though the waiting time is not that long. You get most results on the spot since they have their own lab. The place is very clean, doesn't smell like wet dog like some vets. I will be coming here for a very long time. Read Less

Hurst Animal Clinic has been our vet for the last 2 years. Last week, we knew it was time to put our sweet dog of 14 years down. This was an incredibly tough decision to make, but everyone we encountered on his final appointment was great. They were patient and compassionate and made a really rough day a little easier. Great service. I brought my puppy pin for his third round of shots after a negative experience at a different vet. The staff was very caring and brought us into a room and checked him out , even though I didn't schedule an exam. They listened to my concerns and offered advice and suggestions. Very happy so far. New to the area, we had to find a new Vet for Big Tex! They got us in the same day we called, everyone was kind, caring, and patient with my shivering Pibble. The doc & assistants got down on the floor with him, spoke softly, and were extremely gentle. They took their time, even though it was the last appointment of the day--not rushing us through. I have never met a kinder, more compassionate vet than Dr. Daryl. He takes the best care of my pound puppies imaginable, taking time to love on them before starting the examination part of the visit. He offers solutions for problems and recommendations for dealing with behavioral issues, all while being the perfect combination of warm and professional. He had treated illnesses and injuries in addition to taking care of their preventative care needs and is always thorough, while never charging the exorbitant fees I have paid with previous vets. He is conservative in his care, and doesn't recommend anything he doesn't absolutely feel is necessary. There have been multiple times when he could have offered X-rays and expensive therapies but he explained why he didn't feel like they were necessary and when we should pursue them. My life would be incomplete without my dogs and it is made better by Dr. Daryl and the WONDERFUL staff at Hurst Animal Clinic. Read Less

My 3 year old pup and I just got done with our first visit here and we are very pleased. I noticed last night my poor pup was scratching her ear excessively and tilting her head. This morning I was able to give her a closer exam and noticed she had some build up in her ear and it was obviously red. I called this morning to make an appointment and they had a slot free at 2:30pm. I was so relieved. We got there at 2:15 and I had already filled out the new client paper work (which you can go to their website and print out). We were early so I expected a wait. But we actually got in a room at 2:40 and that was with 3 people ahead of me. Not bad! The tech Brandi was so sweet and gentle. She welcomed us with a warm smile and calm demeanor. She gently got a swab from both my pup's ears and said the Dr. will exam them under a scope and be in shortly. Brandi was also kind enough to give my pup a treat to make everything as positive as possible. Dr. Hawkins came in shortly after that and confirmed a double ear infection. She also greeted me with a warm smile and pet my pup gently and gave her a treat. They really took their time with us and answered all my questions with sweet consideration. I didn't feel rushed and my pup was so happy she seemed to have forgotten she was at the vet.Even before I scheduled the appointment I asked how much it would be and I ended up paying that exact price. Definitely not unreasonable. It was $45.50 for the exam, $29.95 for the ear exam and $36 for ear medication. I was expecting to pay double that, and was so relieved when I didn't have to. Thank you so much Brandi and Dr. Hawkins! I've had some terrible experiences in the past and was weary of seeing someone new but was so pleased and happy at how our appointment went! Dr Daryl and his staff are awesome! We are new to the area and our 8 yr old yorkie started limping after being groomed at the groom room. We had excellent care here. I absolutely love this place. Debbie is wonderful and had a great memory. She always remembers my dog "Lucy the Boxer" and it is so appreciated to know that they care about their customers. We're from out of town and we had an issue with stitches on my pit bull and chihuahua.... they had been Spayed/Neutered. We didn't make it back home in time, so I looked for the closest place to us at the time. They were the friendliest and helpful ppl I could have asked for. I called 15 mins till closing and asked a question. First I told her what was wrong with my dog then I WAS going to ask the question but the first thing that came out of her mouth was "ooh well we close in 10 mins". If this person would have let me finish she would have known that I knew that and I was wanting to find out for tomorrow. Now I will never go because if she was in that much of a hurry for just a question I can image the treatment my dog would get. RUDE! Read Less

I just moved here from out of state a month ago and needed to find a vet for my beloved dog. I found Hurst Animal Clinic just by driving by and I am so grateful I found them. They have taken such good care of my dog. I so very much appreciate their care, their support, their knowledge on how to handle situations. This is the best veterinary clinic in HEB. Our family has owned several dogs during the the 20 years we've lived in Hurst and the staff at Hurst Animal Clinic has taken care of them all. Great people, great doctors, and Deb at the front desk is very knowledgeable and at the top of her game. Love the new remodel too. Best Vet I've Ever Been to!I love this place. It's smaller and not in the best part of town, but the people there are the best. Dr. Daryl and Dr Genny are the two best vets I have ever used. I have raised and taken care of 7 dogs in my life, so I have seen my fair share of vets. The reason I am writing this review is a year ago I moved an hour away from the clinic. I took my pug to another vet closer to my new home, and that vet (North Texas veterinary clinic) failed to fix a resistance ear infection for 7 MONTHS. Then they told me there was nothing they could do and suggested I have my pugs ear canal removed and basically make her def. I said screw that and screw you, I took my pug back to Hurst Animal Clinic and within a month the ear infection was gone. Hurst Animal Clinic is simply the best place to take your pets. (And if you live in Fort Worth / Keller) Stay the Hell away from North Texas Veterinary Clinic. The office staff are wonderful, but the actual Vets are incompetent morons.) Read Less

These guys saved my Great Dane's life! They took us in for emergency surgery last minute in the evening, and treated my fur baby like their own. They went over everything weighing the pros and cons, and were not the typical "let's just do it" and take your $$$.  The vet there stayed late with him in recovery and called me afterwards. Hands down the absolute best vet clinic in Hurst!!!!! I can not express in words how AWESOME the staff is and how they treated our dog. BJ was diagnosed with heart worms 3 years ago at Elite Vet Clinic in Hurst, and it definitely was devastating news. During the treatment process and all the follow up visits they did treat him well but there was so much staff change and none of the doctors knew BJ's history or anything about him, only what was written on paper. A couple of weeks ago BJ got really sick with a dry cough and we were very worried that it was his heart or lungs giving out due to the heart worms. So that afternoon we had taken him to his usual vet (Elite Vet Clinic) and they did absolutely nothing for our dog. We just couldn't believe that they let us walk out with our dog basically chocking and gasping for air. That same night we had to take our dog to the E.R. in Euless and there they treated us very well and gave him cough tablets and a injection to ease the cough just until we could get him into the cardiologist, and why couldn't Elite do the same?? Me and my family still question that!!A couple of days passed and we finally got an appointment to take him into the cardiologist in grapevine urgent animal clinic and let me tell you, unless you have 3000 dollars to pay up front, don't even waste your time! The cardiologist saw how severe his case was and how severe our dog was but she refused to even exam him, she didn't even check his heart beat or even touch him!!!! She was in no way showing any interest in dealing with our dog. We left just as upset as when we took him into his usual vet. All we wanted was answers to what was going on with our dog, and if he was going to be okay or was he suffering, or would he have to be put down. His own primary vet nor the cardiologist could give us answers!!We finally discovered Hurst Animal Clinic and like I said I can not explain in words how grateful we are to the vet tech Samantha and Dr. Daryl on how they handled BJ, they did a spectacular job!!!!! Our dog isn't the kind to be very friendly but they handled him with so much care and they definitely knew what they were doing. Dr. Daryl gave us the answers we were looking for and all it took was a simple X ray and ask me again why Elite or the cardiologist couldn't do that??All BJ had was allergies and that's what was causing his dry cough. Dr. Daryl took X rays and gave him a steroid shot and changed up his medication a bit, and that's all he did to make our baby a healthy boy again. We can not thank y'all enough for everything y'all did for us. It was such agony to see him the way he was, and absolutely no one would help us until we found Hurst Animal Clinic. I would highly recommend this clinic to anyone! the staff is absolutely amazing and they give you a peace of mind which everyone wants when it comes to your family. This was my first time going to this vet on 06/05/15. Let me tell you!! Hands down this is the best vet clinic I've been to in a long time! I had just got a few week old kitten for my daughter a week prior on Craigslist, and wanted to get him checked out. (we all know about Craigslist! Lol)Our kitten had a couple of minor treatable issues such as a parasite worm in his stomach, and a small eye infection. Both currently being treated with antibiotics. The wait was not long(since I had my papers filled out prior) and we were seen by Dr. Ginny! She is the most compassionate and very positive vet dr that I've ever met! She showed so much affection and care towards my kitten! She even gave him a kiss! Aww! She was very knowledgeable about our kitten's situation, and I didn't feel like I was being "hustled" at all! The pricing for me was very affordable! I just wished that I was able to purchase some good pet insurance that covered the wellness, vaccines, etc prior to. But, he's going to keep seeing Dr. Ginny as he grows and gets ready for his first set of vaccines/deworming, and in a month he would be a great candidate to be neutered as well!This is our first time establishing a vet, and let me tell you...Dr. Ginny and her team has got my business!I found Hurst Animal Clinic through a Google search, and even then there were so many good reviews which to me was too good to be true! I've experienced this first hand that Hurst Animal Clinic hands down is the best! I look forward to taking our furry family member there for his needs! This is a wonderful Veternary clinic.  I called the Veternary practice that we used where we previously lived to ask about someone in the Hurst area.  They recommended Dr Genny.  We were able to get in the same day when my dog was in pain.  The entire staff was very friendly.  A couple of different vet techs came out to meet her the waiting room.  They brought treats and lots of love.  Dr Genny was super sweet.  The office is old, but it is clean and they are in the process of an expansion.  They are also reasonably priced.  I really cannot say enough good things about them.  I am so happy to have found them. This is the BEST vet there is!!! Dr. Daryl is the absolute greatest!! My dog had to have major neck surgery recently. They took such amazing care of her from day of surgery all the way through recovery. I have been to countless vets throughout the Metroplex and honestly these guys are top notch!! Dr Daryl is amazing! I had left my older dog at the vet for boarding because she wasn't doing well. While I was on vacation I received a call from him stating she wasn't breathing well and would have to be put in an oxygen tent every hour or so. He said he would call in the morning. She made it through the night. When I went to pick her up I was told by a tech that Dr Daryl stayed with her all night and was found sleeping with her when they came in the next day. I love this place. It's been here a long time and they have an established clientele. They have been nothing but professional and compassionate with us, always. They see all kinds of animals and offer some boarding in addition to the vet services, which are not expensive. I consider my family very lucky to have found them as our dog sometimes needs a little extra help and they remember him and treat each of their clients like family. The Saturday wait can be long, as it's on a first-come first-served basis, but they will stay late and make sure to see you as long as you show up before closing time. I'm shocked at the negative reviews!  Honestly, I'm a high-maintenance person (although it pains me to say that!) and I absolutely love Hurst Animal Clinic.  We started going to this clinic a number of years ago and have been absolutely thrilled since Dr. Daryl took over in 2009.  We had taken our older dog there for years prior to Dr. Daryl taking over the practice and had been satisfied, but never felt like part of the family.  We do now.  Our dog (who was about 12 at the time) started experiencing some issues - drinking a lot, urinating in the house, some food aggression, etc.  Dr. Daryl figured out that our dog had Cushings disease.  We were able to put him on a treatment plan that extended his life significantly!  Dr. Daryl never encouraged us to do anything outside of our comfort range either from a treatment or financial perspective.  Our dog, Bear, ended up having many additional issues including an enlarged heart, lung issues, etc. and Dr. Daryl always treated us and Bear with an extreme amount of compassion.  I can't thank him enough.  At one point, Bear was on upward of 6 pills per day - which was our choice.  Dr. Daryl walked us through the pros and cons of each treatment, the efficacy, the anticipated outcome and was kind of enough to share what he would do if it was his own dog- always with a kind demeanor and an understanding heart.  We lost Bear in March of 2011, but due to Dr. Daryl and Hurst Animal Clinic, we had 18 months more than we would have and we couldn't be more thankful.  I also know that Dr. Daryl and the staff at Hurst Animal Clinic grieved with us and still continue to remember Bear as we do.In November of 2010, we had a cat adopt us.  We are not cat people (or we didn't realize we were) but this cat stole our hearts.  We tried to find another home for her, but quickly realized that we were destined to be her family.  We took her to Dr. Daryl, as well, and he was just as kind to her.  We have since added another kitty and a new dog (just 1 week ago) and all of them are just as much a part of the family of Hurst Animal Clinic as they are ours.  I know very few offices that can ask, with confidence, which pet you are calling about when you call.  When I call, if I leave it open at all, Debbie will ask me if I'm calling about Kitty (our first cat), Henry (our second cat), or Mercedes (our new puppy).  When we go in to the office, the staff come out to greet them by name!  Can you ask for more?????If anyone has questions or would like additional information, I would be happy to talk with you.  You can reach me at 817-919-7269 - kim. My vet ran out of an expensive special diet that one of my cats must eat, and I had a very hard time finding another vet that stocked it. When I called Hurst Animal Clinic, I spoke with Betty (I think that was her name, anyway), who acted quite pleased to tell me that they were unable to help me because I was not a client. She would not even look to see if they stocked the food, actually would not even let me tell her what kind of food it was, and informed me in a very condescending tone (calling me "honey") that they were not a pharmacy for other veterinarians. This is a diet for cats with struvite crystals we are talking about here, not crack nuggets. I would have been happy to bring my cat in for an exam if that's what it took to get the food, because my cat needed it and I was getting desperate. But Betty did not even offer that option, her only answer was NO ("honey").I guess Hurst Animal Clinic has enough clients and they don't really care about presenting a professional, caring image to clients of "other vets". I am in my thirties and don't appreciate being talked to as if I was a teenager.For the record, every other vet I spoke to was helpful and courteous, one vet's office manager even called the food sales rep to find out what local vets carry the food.
