We have used Grand Westheimer Animal Hospital exclusively for the last 12 or 14 years. Our first experience was with my German Shepard "Tasha". We had taken her as a put to another clinic where the vet misdiagnosed her with having dysphasia. That vet was a quack Dr. Chung at GWAH said that was a load of crap and that our dog was normal. In fact, Tasha was a great dog that lived a full life. We now have two more terrors, I mean German Shepard's: Tex and Shadow. They love visits to Dr. Chung even on shot days!GWAH offers everything from boarding, routine care, surgery and, sadly, anesthesia. The hospital is located on the corner of Grand Parkway and Westheimer Parkway. It's on a green belt and pedestrian trail that connects to the the bayou trails. So I can walk my dogs to the vet and then let them tire out on the way home.

We have been with Dr. Chung through three different animal clinics! The reason we chose to follow him wherever he went was that we could not have imagined having another vet who would have the same knowledge and rapport he did with my dog. She had a complicated situation with her leg since she was 9 months old and he treated her from the beginning, up until her passing at 15 years old, which he handled with the utmost compassion. He has very good energy and he genuinely cares for the well-being of his patients. He's great with families and pet parents, too! His animal hospital is clean, inviting, and his staff are friendly and professional. With the new dog, I make the drive and take him to Dr. Chung, as well. It's worth it!

We take two cats and dog here regularly for all vet services. Dr. Chung has always provided us with excellent care with detailed explanations of diagnosis and treatment.

After dealing with other vets, who do just enough to do the job, Dr. Chung has been, by far, the most involved vet I've seen. On a busy day, he was able to slip my dog in between appointments. He has such a calm and caring demeanor, and thoroughly physically assessed my dog before determining that Xrays were needed. Other vets would have ordered them blindly. I will definitely be taking my dog back to him when I need veterinary care.

I own a pet sitting service, A Pet's Domain, in Katy. A client referred me to Dr. Chung when I was looking for a new vet. What a fantastic place! Dr. Chung is so patient with both my young 100 lb. dog and my 16 yr. old chihuahua. He explains everything in detail to me, and he is willing to discuss options with me and listens to my opinions as well. The staff is always very nice as well. I have since sent many of my business clients to Dr. Chung and they are all happy they chose Grand Westheimer Animal Hospital. It is obvious that Dr. Chung has a real heart for the pets he cares for. The first experience I had with them was when I took my dog in after she passed out. Everyone was kind and caring. Within 15 min the problem was found, but the why was not so clear. Over the next week Dr. Chung researched the food I was feeding and even called the manufacturer. It turned out that the food was a factor. He is kind, caring and professional. He explains everything very well and is willing to answer all questions. The prices are reasonable. My parents now take their dogs to see Dr. Chung, too.
