I have a yellow lab that was run over by a car a week ago on a Sunday the following day I set up an appointment to visit this clinic on Monday I was still in shock to what happened because I was up till 1 a.m. in the morning trying to give medical attention to my dog and to save his life he had lacerations the size of a half dollar on the left and right side under his armpit and his right leg was scrape to the Bone the doctor examined him and offered to have him x-rayed and his lacerations sutured the other was to give me medications for pain and antibiotics and inflammation I chose that path because I was on a fixed income and disabled veteran. A week went by I tried to so the lacerations and also put splinters with a bandage around his leg I called the veterinarian the following week in the evening time and told them his lacerations open back up from my homemade stitches and his leg was getting worse they made an appointment for me the following morning to come in and get him sewed up and also to evaluate the leg. When I got there the the desk was helpful and considerate. When I met the doctor's assistant in the examination room I told her I needed to have my dog's wounds repaired and she told me it was impossible because I waited a week too long. I was Furious How could a week matter when there was open wounds on my dog and I was willing to pay the cost to have them sutured and she refused to discuss anymore with me and went to get the doctor. When the doctor came in and I don't know her name she told me that she probably couldn't suture the wounds because it was a week and I told her that doesn't make sense and if it would have been an issue why wouldn't you have convinced me to have it done the first time I was here because I was in shock and I was also worried about the cost I am a fixed income and I told them my situation but they seem to have no passion or understanding or care about my dog and medical medical attention. I believe they only cared about how much money they could give from me where than offer me options like a payment plan and even look at my dog as a follow-up from last week when I paid over$160 last week. The assistant to the doctor was mean and cruel and asked me to leave several times as I was leaving the front office the front desk ladies ask me what happened I started to explain to them and assistant to the doctor came from the back office and told me to leave and told the ladies not to talk to me very rude and disrespectful to me. After I left the building one of the front desk ladies came out from behind her desk and apologized because she made the appointment taking that my dog would get sutured up she also offered some suggestions for medical treatment and was very kind-hearted and caring and showed what it means to offer customer service as for the doctor and her assistant I believe they need some additional training in how to treat individuals based on there Financial difficulties. I cannot believe a a Veterinarian Clinic would turn away a suffering dog and it's owner. I went to Old Town Katy animal hospital Clinic and told them what happened with my dog's accident and the lack of treatment at the earlier Clinic I went to. They immediately attended to my dog and myself offering several Solutions and options to treatment for my dog and my financial responsibilities. They administered my dog to stay overnight so they could amputate his leg the next day before he got worse. They offered me Financial institutions at no interest for 12 months to pay for treatment and surgery. I just want the public to know there are bad veterinarian people to include doctor's assistance andand there and there are great veterinarian clinics that will go above and beyond. Even the office visit was $20 cheaper then what I paid at Katy Animal Clinic I will never go there again and will recommend to all my friends Old Town Katy animal Hospital Read Less

I cannot say enough good things about Katy Vet Clinic. Everyone was so welcoming and kind. They really go above and beyond to make sure your pet is taken care of. You can see their love for animals in the way handle your pet and give them the most comprehensive care possible. My dog, like most, doesn't favor going to the vet but by then end of the visit she was wagging her tail. The atmosphere is incredibly friendly and the staff is absolutely genuine. KVC is a vet you can trust. I was informed they do price matching and 1-800 pet meds could not beat KVC's price even with a 15% discount offered on their website. Overall, quite reasonable costs especially for the care you are getting. I would recommend this clinic to anyone (including my uber driver on the way home lol)! Read Less

I can't believe you have to leave at least one star. I was robbed. I called to ask pricing on their boarding for my dogs, $25 for one small cage & $27 for a 'run', which is just a small to normal sized boarding area. Since both my dogs are inseparable, I asked if it would be a separate price if they shared a run. They put me on hold & talked to the manager, pretty sure this girl who put me on hold's name was Anne, but not 100%, I didn't think I needed to write all this down at the time. She came back and said they could definitely share it for one price. I confirmed it with another person when I called back the next day before coming in and they said the same thing. Fast forward to us coming back from vacation to pick up our dogs, but they HOLD THEM HOSTAGE until we can pay double the price. They wouldn't let us back there to see if they still had the crate in the same cage or how they were doing. We were so upset, obviously, but the manager, Tom, followed us out into the parking lot after we got our dogs back and clearly just wanted to get away from these people. He continuously justified the price because they walked them 4 times a day. But by the way my dogs acted for the next week, they had been cooped up in that cage for that whole time with those 4 walks probably being just go out to urinate, etc, then come right back in. I've left them at boarding places before, plenty of times, and this was by far the worst. We only settled with this place because we just moved here & didn't have a lot of time to shop around before we had to go out of state. PLEASE, please don't subject your pets or yourself to these people. The absurd amount of rudeness we had to face when attempting to pick up our dogs was so appalling, I'm disgusted just thinking back on it. As my bulldog progressively got worse we met Dr Estrade and she was perfect for us. I now have a rescue dog that came with a few issues and have to say that Dr Estrade has impressed me again. She has a great mix of clinical knowledge and compassion for my dog. She has gone above and beyond what a typical vet might do and has earned my loyalty and respect. I came here today for the first time, to euthanize our dog after he was diagnosed with lymphoma. The cancer spread very fast & we came to an unfortunate decision sooner than we would've liked to handle. This place made it so much more bearable, with Sue at the front desk so helpful with working me into their busy schedule & getting us into a room upon arrival. Dr. Berry was amazing & so comforting during the procedure. I wish I remembered the tech's names because they were so amazing as well. The tears they shed with me, meant something as well. In such a crucial & emotional time for me, they were truly empathetic, considerate, personable, & genuinely cared about my dog & my well being. We own multiple dogs and cats, and Katy Veterinary Clinic has been there for all our needs. Whether it's been a simple check up, picking up meds, dispensing advice or helping us through an older dog who developed cancer, the office staff and doctors have been great. They were even able to recommend a vet for our pet duck (dont ask, i dont want to talk about it). Everyone within the office has always been extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Katy Veterinary Clinic is by far the best vet clinic I have ever been to. It was such a great and comforting experience from start to finish. The front office staff were so kind and sweet. Dr.Barra and Andrea were SUPER helpful and very knowledgeable. This is our first time having a puppy as young as 5 weeks and they did a fantastic job on informing me on everything I need to know. Our lab had to get stitches while we were on a trip to Florida. When we got back to Katy, we called our regular vet's office (Kingsland Animal Clinic), who wanted to charge $54 for a checkup to make sure he was ok to have the stitches taken out. I called Katy Vet Clinic, and they said they would be happy to take them out at no cost. We really appreciated the fast, friendly service and the kindness of the staff we encountered during our trip! We have been going to the Katy Clinic for 3+ years. We have been to clinics all over the country and we can honestly say this is one of the best. Dr. Kari and the other doctors and the team are very welcoming and professional. The prices are reasonable. We have always been given choices regarding treatment options when needed. Katy Vet Clinic has been a part of our lives for the past 14 years. They have cared for three cats and three dogs during that time. Recently, Dr. Cleavinger, and Mia, treated our cat in his home surroundings, and that increased his comfort level. The visit was very positive for him, and for his health. I tried this vet clinic for the first time last week. I swear it was like I was at a shopping mall, and not in a good way! they had a new vet, I forget her name, BUT all she did was push and push for me to buy this and that...I was there for a check up, and she misdiagnosed this for that, and wanted me to buy this and that. my pet is elderly, and I take good care of her. there is ALWAYS going to be something more I could do, or something more I could buy for her. no matter what there will be, and pushing for everything is annoying, and makes people feel like they are not doing enuff when their budget allows for checkups and reasonable things more, BUt I don't want the pushing...I wont go back. I went there last week for a check up, and spent the time with a pushy, unfriendly vet who tried to sell me everything! she wanted me to buy new shampoo, food additives, antibiotic for a cut, not a skin infection as she first called it. it was a small cut 1/4 inch on the way to healing so yea it was crusty and scaly, not a skin infection! then I was pushed to change dog food. my dogs all eat a 4 star food. that is what I can afford, and that is what they get. I cannot remember the last push? whatever, it makes clients feel like sort of disappointed in themselves when they cannot afford to buy ALL that is pushed-suggested to and on them! this clinic tries to make salesman of the vets..i don't know if they get commission, sounds dumb, BUT why all the sales, why all the pushing? I didn't feel good when I left. this vet sort of bummed me out! wont go back for any reason. Read Less

Superb first visit to get my beagle sorted for life in Texas. Helpful, friendly staff who have given her the immunizations she needs and advice I required. (And were very transparent about all costs) Nothing seemed to be too much for them, my dog was spoiled the whole time she was there. Awesome care for well puppy and sick elder dog.  Kindness and compassion. My daughter was admitted to the hospital for a week on an emergency.  My husband was out of town and Katy Vet took my puppy immediately (he is a patient and up to date on his shots). I ran home, picked him up and dropped him off. My exprience with the Katy Vet Clinic is the exact oppositve of the other reviewer. I cannot say enough great things about Dr. Cleavinger and her staff. When we first moved to Katy we went to another clinic first and were very unsatisfied, and have been happy with the Katy Vet Clinic for over 2 years now. Dr. Cleavinger has been very conservative about running unnecessary expensive tests. She has been WONDERFUL at communication with me, emailing me test results as soon as she gets them, etc. I cannot ask for a better vet for my dog. Read Less

This clinic is WAY overpriced, they perform unnecessary tests, and will pressure you into doing and buying as much as you possibly can. I have been taking my dog there for several years and while the staff is really nice (especially the front desk staff), I had finally had enough. When told to return to the office for a recheck and of which I would not be charged, I ended up with another near $100 bill because Dr. Barra performed an unnecessary test and did not tell me in advance what it would charge. She just did it and slapped the charge onto the bill then would not speak to me about it. Thankfully the front desk staff rectified the situation, but the vet still wouldn't come talk to me about the charge. I have since had all records sent to another clinic in Katy and I will never return to Katy Vet. Read Less

We moved here from another state and we needed to take our Golden Retriever for a checkup because he wasn't feeling or acting well. They got us in right away and were so helpful and caring with our dog. Everyone, from the receptionists, nurse, and Dr. Smith were so sweet and informative! Dr. Smith went over all the information I gave her and gave me her medical opinion and personal opinion on how we should go about treating my baby. I decided to get some x-rays and blood work done and I feel I payed a fair price. Dr. Smith called me when the test results came back and explained everything to me. She wrote a prescription for our Golden that would help him get better. The office even called the next day to check on how we were doing and to make sure I didn't have any questions.
