Dr. Mortenson has been our vet for over 30 years. He has seen us through happy and sad times with our animals and I wouldn't switch. When we had to put down Spencer, our kitty, he even made a house call so Spencer's last few moments were peaceful. Spencer was 17 years old and a 5 year an insulin dependent diabetic cat. That's a long life for any cat and, especially one who had diabetes for 5 years. I bought a glucose meter calibrated for cats and dogs and he taught me how to test Spencer's glucose and manage insulin adjustments as necessary. Much better to have a vet that will educate me than simply take my cat and do it for me with unnecessary expense. I appreciate his time, expertise and attention. Now we have Mickey and he is his vet, too. Read Less

Honest about treatment and costs. This is not a big vet clinic where they try to sell you everything and charge the earth. This guy is a one man show with few overheads. His prices are low and he makes an effort to ensure you don't spend money that you do not need to. How refreshing! I can't stand being put in the position to spend a fortune on my pets when it is unnecessary. He handled the treatment and passing of my dog and now looks after my new one. If you want a waiting room with a receptionist and fresh coffee then this is not the place for you. If you want good treatment at an affordable price then this Is the place to go. Read Less

The vet at this place is outstanding!  He is very knowledgable on all kinds of animals, and his services are in great demand.  He did surgery on a cat we have years ago and saved the cats life. His prices are very reasonable for his services. We have never been disappointed in taking our cats and dogs to him. We always call and make an appointment before going in and usually he can see our pet the very next day. I took my male cat to get neutered today. This kind, funny vet charges just $30 to neuter a cat. I chose to pay extra to receive antibiotics and pain medicine and an IV drip during surgery. When our cat broke his leg I called several animal clinics in NRH, Watauga, Hurst, and Keller. ALL of them said our cat would have to have a very expensive surgery that we couldn't afford. This guy was the ONLY one who gave us any options. He wrapped our cat's broken leg in a cast and a couple of weeks later our cat was just fine for less than half of the cost the other vets told us. He spends a little too much time around animals and not enough time around people (he's not a people person), but he gets the job done at a reasonable price. Read Less
