The staff was great for my dogs first time! Although the insurance plan really doesn’t seem to cover much and the medications are expensive, they showed deep sympathy and care for my dogs ear infection and treated it with care while also recommending things I could do at home. They even called the day after my dogs appointment just to check up on my dog! Great customer service! Read Less

I wish I could give lower than 1 star. My dog is a patient with this Banfield location. This place turned me away when I called with an emergency that my dog was vomiting blood! They told me they were too busy. TOO BUSY to tend to my dog who has a serious medical emergency. Then they told me to go to the after hours clinic, which I asked if they were even open because it was the afternoon and they told me they were. Which they weren't. I ended up calling El Centro Vet and they told me to come in immediately and took care of us like a Vet should. I don't usually write reviews, but this was absolutely necessary. Stay away from Banfield, clearly they don't care about their animals. Read Less

Their all about the money. They are very expensive and make you feel awful if you can’t afford everything. When we found out my dog had heart worms they presented us with several options for treatment all of them were expensive. The vet there talked me into spending hundreds of dollars in heartworm prevention medication saying the worm would likely go away on their own and the prevention would stop her from getting new ones. Well it didn’t work. I stopped going to them and switched to El Centro. El Centro does a much better job and they are more affordable. After I stopped going to Banifield I was contacted several times by a rude woman about renewing my care plan, I explained the care plan was too expensive. She told me my dog was due for her shots and by not getting her vaccinated I was putting her health at risk. I explained to the rude woman my dog already had her vaccinations from a different vet. The phone calls and mail reminders went on for a while before they took the hint. I definitely don’t miss Banifield. Read Less

Just wanted to say that I hardly EVER write reviews, but I have to say KELLY at the Killeen Clinic is absolutely AMAZING! She is so thorough and went out of her way to help me and our baby boy Thunder. I went to the Temple clinic last week and had a very bad experience, Me and my husband was left feeling hurt and unsure of of ourselves as pet owners and our pets health. We were completey done with Banfield after we left that day. By chance, around 5:30 pm I went on a run to get our little puppy some more food at my local Killeen Petsmart. During my visit I decided to stop by the clinic to get his monthly flea and tick prevention. Kelly Immediately greeted me with a warm welcome and solved all of my concerns in 30 mins flat. It was worth the wait. Any question I had she answered, and if she wasnt sure she found the answer or asked the Veterinarian that was on duty (Whom was awesome as well, but I do not know his name). This is the second time I've came to the Killeen Clinic and Kelly has gone completely out of her way to help me each time. Somebody give this girl a raise lol, she truly deserves it! I have never met this woman before in my entire life, but each time I went to the clinic I felt like I was talking to an old friend. Someone who cares. That's the type of treatment pet owners need when they are worried about their pets. The other Tech that was working in the front, tidying up before they closed was awesome as well, and very knowledgeable! I was so worried about my puppy and I honestly was going to find another Vet after my experience last week in Temple. WHEW, now That was a long, but we'll deserved review lol. Read Less

A few days after Christmas 2016, my dog Kira's health took a sharp and sudden decline. It was very emotional because she was refusing to eat and had become incontinent, at times not even lifting her head to see who was approaching. Very sad for too see a pup only 6years old slipping. I immediately scheduled an appointment with the Killeen Banfield Hospital as soon as possible, i was told 5pm the next day (understandably they were booked, and i couldn't afford the overnight emergency clinic). By the grace of God she was still alive the next morning and I held her until just shy of 5pm. On the ride over i was worried the Dr's and staff might be tired and worn down from a long day and hoped they had a little energy left for my Kira. The staff and Dr recieved us with tremendous empathy and a "bed side manner" as such that it would put many human being health care professionals to shame. My pup was showered with care and a gentle exam, with then same enthusiasm as if the day were starting, not ending. I consider myself a strong fella, but was in tears as they held her and checked her out. I knew in that moment she was exactly where she needed to be, with true animal lovers. The diagnosis was Diabetes, ketoacidosis, and cataracts (from the diabetes). They staff and Dr walked me through every single step of how to be her best human, from explaining diet to administering the shots she will have to have after ever single meal for the rest of her life. I felt empowered by the time they were done showing and explaining to me that she WILL still have a great life with many years yet. I am sincerely greatful to everyone at the Killeen Banfield Facility, Kira is getting right back to her spry self,and chases her big red squeaky ball as if she were still a puppy. After going to a different Banfield location I realize how awesome this location is. My family and fur babies have been going here since 2012, the ladies in the front are always so helpful they know my name and my pets names and sometimes even know who I am just from hearing my pets names on the phone! They are so welcoming and get to know you as people. While I'm at school I still call this location over the one by my campus for information because they are the only ones who understand my concerns and truly want to help. The veterinarians have always taken great care of all six of our pets and while we had our group of 6 pups and another group of 7 they always treated them with special care. They have really gone above and beyond for me, thank you Read Less

Even if you consider investing your time and money, do not sign up with a year plan. Go month to month and it won't take you long to realize this is not the place for your pet. Solution? Look into Emancipet located in Killeen. You'll be happy you did. If you're reading this now, you're likely sitting in the waiting room... Do your research and best of luck! Read Less

I have submitted various complaints with no resolution. This all began over a month ago. I had four dogs on wellness plans for a few years or so. So when I added a new dog to my family it was only obvious I would add him as well. I called banfield and set up an appointment to get the fifth and new dog on to a welness plan. The appointment was set but was a few days away. Four days after setting up the appointment my new pup suffered from a seizure. The event itself was a horrifying experience. I than contact banfield to see if my dog can be seen sooner. I explain why and they agree to see him that day. I then ask what fees are involved and what needs to take place. The girl I spoke with on the phone and in person at banfield said that the main thing would be blood work which will all be covered under the wellness plan. She stated nothing would go beyond that. When I arrived at banfield again I was presented with pamphlets to select the wellness plan of my choice. I than am placed in a waiting room to wait for the doctor. It was there that I first hear that my pet would not be placed on a wellness plan and I would have to pay $200 plus dollars for blood work and exam. The situation and explanation was poor to non existent. Of course my only concern at the time was for my dog. I walk out and I'm upset at the end and complain at the front desk. The girl working the front desk goes on to explain that the manager Stephanie was the one who decided last minute not to go with the plan. I then place a complaint to banfield website. No response. I then call to complain to banfield corporate phone number to place complaint. I finally hear from Stephanie the Killeen banfield manager. Throughout the call she was very demeaning and seemed to not care about my concerns. I then call to place a complaint about the call and how this is being handled. Guess who calls me back, Stephanie the manager. in the mist of all this they taunt me by sending a card signed by all employees about passing of my dog(who is not dead). This has been a nightmare for me. I'm disgusted by the way this has been handled. I've spoken with the regional director Dr Whatley twice and requested to speak to who ever is above her. Her response is always there is no one. I'm still at lost for words when it comes to this situation. Attached is the card I was sent. Again my dogs are alive and doing well. I never called to say my dog died nor have I received a reason why I was sent that note or why my pet was changed to deceased in the system. Read Less

Please if you are looking for a vet do not go here.  I have had such a horrible experience here that I can not help but laugh.  After submitting a complaint about an issue the staff there became condescending and very rude.  They will lie about charges and surprise you on your way out.  Please be warned stay away.  They went as far as taunting me and sending a card were they stated my dog died, which clearly he did not.  Huge lack of professionalism here. I personally have had nothing but great experiences with this location. They have been taking great care of my Oliver for over 7 months now. Everytime I need something ( Even just advice) they have went out of thier way to help. We recently had and accident and Oliver was hurt pretty bad, they took him in right away and showed genuine concern for his well being. Most of the staff already know him by name and to be honest sometimes I think he's happier to see them than me. I can't speak on the other reviews I've read here, but for me I feel better knowing this location and staff are taking care of my baby. Read Less

I've never had any issues at this location. All of the staff are very friendly and helpful and are surprisingly patient with me and all my million questions. Only once I had my appt pushed a couple of days but I was fine they called ahead of time and apologized. Some of the nice girls at the front desk remember me and my dogs name and always ask how they are doing. I would say to make an appt in the morning is best since not usually packed. And they're open on the  weekends but it can get busy the whole day just depends on the number of animals that are scheduled for the day. Read Less

The wait to get an appointment at this location is ridiculous. Went in on 23 Nov to schedule at appointment for my dog's knee problem and to schedule for dental cleaning. Couldn't get an appointment until 3 weeks later for the knee and put on a "surgery wait list" for the dental. They probably didn't even add me to the list. At the previous Banfield's locations I used (SC and NJ) I was always able to walk-in the same day as a wellness plan user or get an appointment within two days. I was however able to contact the Temple location and get an appointment to have the hip/knee evaluated in a couple days and the dental before the end of the month. Soon as my wellness plan is done for the year switching to one of the local vets in Killeen that has great reviews on Yelp. Read Less

if u come in 15 mins early to check in, they refuse to check you in... u have to wait in the lobby until the exact time of ur appointment comes. I haven't had that issue in NC and CA Banfield. So there's probably a chance someone who came in late got infront of u. They don't have the ability to give certain medications (phenobarbital) for ur dog. They have to call it in a pharmacy nearby. It was just different and a hassle compared to the other Banfield we visited in NC and CA. There was always a "miscommunication" between the pharmacy and them whenever they had to call in refills for my dog's medication. I have to call them to let them know I needed refills. Then they call the pharmacy. I have no way of knowing if they actually did call... they don't let me know that they called the pharmacy... I have to call the pharmacy to confirm they did. There was a time they didn't call the pharmacy and I didn't know until I called the pharmacy. It was like 5 hours after I spoke with banfield.. I have to actually monitor if they called it in... or else I wouldn't know! If I don't take the time to follow up every single time... my dog's not gonna have the medication she needs on time. Its just so frustrating... we never had to deal with this issue before. Some of the receptionist they have don't have very good customer service manners either. They say they'll call you back, but they never do. I always end up calling them to remind them. Worst Banfield we ever visited. Read Less

I'm not sure where to start..... Upon arrival of my dogs 10:30 appointment (1st visit to this location) the ladies at the front desk were friendly during check in. We sat in the waiting room for 40 minutes before we were moved to a room. Another dog owner now waiting as well informed me that her appointment was at 11 and she was told her dog wouldn't be seen until 11:30 because there is a new system and the appointments are 30 minutes off. Well I was not informed of this. When we entered the room the vet tech Michael was very friendly but he had issues maneuvering through the system and appeared to be new. He told me that he recently started working there. I was okay with that. The Dr. finally came in and he didn't say much at all looked in my dogs eyes and ears. Much discussion was about her wellness plan and shots that are due at the end of the month but her plan doesn't renew until then so if I got the shots today I would have to pay. Anyway, I decided to wait since her shots were not expired. It seemed to be a big confusion with understanding the fact that I have heart worm tabs at home and did not need to purchase any at the money and I had flea & tick prevention at home and did not need to purchase any today. I didn't leave there until after 12:30 which is unheard of!!! I don't like my time to be wasted, waiting without a clear reason. So upon check out when I had to schedule an appointment for shot I asked why was there confusion. Well, the owner of this location has sold it and now this location will fall under  Corporate Banefield with the hiring of all new staff, transition of systems and many other things. So, there is some transitioning going on. I initially had 1 star and have no idea how to rate this visit but to be fair 2 stars is given for the 40 minute delay of the appointment without being informed of why and second because the Dr. did tell me anything about my dog other than eyes and ears are normal and healthy. They couldn't get blood because her veins are small and postponed it until the next appointment but her veins will always be small...... I will give this place one more try in a month with a different vet before I renew her plan to be sure she can continue to go here. I'm just happy my dog has always been healthy because if she wasn't I would prob not return. Read Less

If I could give 0 stars I would. this place is not good. One morning at 730 our dog who regularly went to Banfield was very sick and we needed to bring him in. We called and they said they were open. We rushed there and were told the vet didn't come in until 9 and our semi responsive dog absolutely could NOT wait. So we had to go to after hours. They also gave us wrong directions to the after hours place which- it's literally across the street. How hard would it have been to tell us that???  After the after hours visit that resuscitated our dog and cared for him, they recommended a location for us to take him to for the day and back to after hours etc. Banfield quickly became a FORMER vet.  I will never go back and will never recommend them.  Just seems like each dog is just a number. No actual " care" for the customers.  The vets were always great but the desk and the lack of care is bad. Read Less

I recently took my dog here for his dental cleaning. The staff was super friendly and so helpful. They called me during the procedure to let me know of an issue they came across with one of his teeth and actually explained to me what my options were. Now my dog has clean teeth and fresh breath. The staff even spent some quality time with him during his recovery and took a cute picture of him to share with me. They are great people! Read Less

This has to be the worst Banfield I have ever been to. I have been on the Wellness Plan for 3 years. I have been to multiple Banfield hospitals. ( Charlotte, North Carolina ( 2 hospitals there) Ann Arbor, MI - Myrtle Beach, South Carolina). I have always received great service and I felt like my pet was being cared for. However my experience with the Killeen location has been awful. My husband brought my dog in to get medication for his allergies and have his feet looked at to make sure he did not have a yeast and bacterial infection due to him licking them (allergies). They (male doctor) sent him home saying nothing was wrong, when i called up there they said that is not what they advised my husband. Granted im sure there is a grey area of communication since it was my husband and not me there. I went up there 2 weeks later because my dogs feet clearly had an infection. Before the Doctor (a different one than he was seen by before a younger lady in her mid 30s kind of chunky with long brown hair) even looked at my dogs feet she had already tried to sell me $750 worth of food trial stuff just off of what I had told her of his issues. Well if she had even bothered to look into the system she would have noticed 2 years prior i had paid $350 to get an allergy test done on him to figure out what his chronic problems were caused from. And he is allergic to dust mites. She didnt even want to give me the medication i wanted. So i explained to her he needed a skin scrape done on his feet (not sure if she even did one) and that we would go from there. Needless to say she comes back and says he has an infection in his feet. Well dahh!!! And still tried to sell me all this other garbage i did not need. I told her i was only giving my dog medication and a steroid shot and all i was paying was $268 since that is what i always pay. She comes back with his medication and then it was $350. Umm wait why so much oh well you need this special shampoo and oil to squirt on his food. No take it off the list and give me his meds and steroid shot. Then they told me it was my responsibility to care for my dog and I was not doing that. With a snarky attitude like i was being unreasonable. Are you Kidding Me I have spent thousands of dollars treating my dog and I know what his issues are. All they want is to rip people off. Please if you actually want a good vet I recommend not going there and going to Belton on Aztec. I have since cancelled my wellness plan and was informed by Banfield that they are a privately owned hospital and they pay to use their name and that I was not the first to have this issues with them.Read Less

The vets here are really good and helpful however the rest of the staff isn't so great. The people that work the front desk never seem to know what's going on and when I try to ask them questions they act clueless. The vet assistant tried to make me sign up for the wellness plan since it would save me money but never explained it is a one year contract and neither did the girl working the front desk until after I signed for it. The next day I went back and cancelled it and got my money back. Also one time I took my cat in on the weekend during drop off times and they called me 5 minutes before they closed saying she was ready and that they were about to close. Well hello I would of came sooner if they called but they didn't. Also it seemed as though they keep all the pets there that long until they close because it was packed with other people picking up their pets. Read Less

Terrible, terrible hospital. Take your pet to a local vet instead if you live in the Fort Hood area. ALL services and medications are extremely overpriced. You can get less expensive care for better quality almost anywhere else in the area.Staff is not very knowledgeable, and many of their team members have no idea what they are doing in the exam rooms. The tech that saw my dog didn't even know how to take a temp.Made an appointment for my dog to be seen for two weeks out, and I showed up and they told me that I wasn't on the schedule. Instead, they had put a deceased pet on the schedule and told me I would have a 3-4 hour wait as a walk in. Made a second appointment for another day...same thing happened.Made an appointment a MONTH out for some vaccines, SAME thing happened. Something is seriously wrong here.A friend came here, with simply a torn toe nail. Her bill was almost 1,000 dollars. For a TOE NAIL. That turned out would have healed completely fine on it's own. Their all about the money. They are very expensive and make you feel awful if you can’t afford everything. When we found out my dog had heart worms they presented us with several options for treatment all of them were expensive. The vet there talked me into spending hundreds of dollars in heartworm prevention medication saying the worm would likely go away on their own and the prevention would stop her from getting new ones. Well it didn’t work. I stopped going to them and switched to El Centro. El Centro does a much better job and they are more affordable. After I stopped going to Banifield I was contacted several times by a rude woman about renewing my care plan, I explained the care plan was too expensive. She told me my dog was due for her shots and by not getting her vaccinated I was putting her health at risk. I explained to the rude woman my dog already had her vaccinations from a different vet. The phone calls and mail reminders went on for a while before they took the hint. I definitely don’t miss Banifield. Read Less

Just wanted to say that I hardly EVER write reviews, but I have to say KELLY at the Killeen Clinic is absolutely AMAZING! She is so thorough and went out of her way to help me and our baby boy Thunder. I went to the Temple clinic last week and had a very bad experience, Me and my husband was left feeling hurt and unsure of of ourselves as pet owners and our pets health. We were completey done with Banfield after we left that day. By chance, around 5:30 pm I went on a run to get our little puppy some more food at my local Killeen Petsmart. During my visit I decided to stop by the clinic to get his monthly flea and tick prevention. Kelly Immediately greeted me with a warm welcome and solved all of my concerns in 30 mins flat. It was worth the wait. Any question I had she answered, and if she wasnt sure she found the answer or asked the Veterinarian that was on duty (Whom was awesome as well, but I do not know his name). This is the second time I've came to the Killeen Clinic and Kelly has gone completely out of her way to help me each time. Somebody give this girl a raise lol, she truly deserves it! I have never met this woman before in my entire life, but each time I went to the clinic I felt like I was talking to an old friend. Someone who cares. That's the type of treatment pet owners need when they are worried about their pets. The other Tech that was working in the front, tidying up before they closed was awesome as well, and very knowledgeable! A few days after Christmas 2016, my dog Kira's health took a sharp and sudden decline. It was very emotional because she was refusing to eat and had become incontinent, at times not even lifting her head to see who was approaching. Very sad for too see a pup only 6years old slipping. I immediately scheduled an appointment with the Killeen Banfield Hospital as soon as possible, i was told 5pm the next day (understandably they were booked, and i couldn't afford the overnight emergency clinic). By the grace of God she was still alive the next morning and I held her until just shy of 5pm. On the ride over i was worried the Dr's and staff might be tired and worn down from a long day and hoped they had a little energy left for my Kira. The staff and Dr recieved us with tremendous empathy and a "bed side manner" as such that it would put many human being health care professionals to shame. My pup was showered with care and a gentle exam, with then same enthusiasm as if the day were starting, not ending. I consider myself a strong fella, but was in tears as they held her and checked her out. I knew in that moment she was exactly where she needed to be, with true animal lovers. The diagnosis was Diabetes, ketoacidosis, and cataracts (from the diabetes). They staff and Dr walked me through every single step of how to be her best human, from explaining diet to administering the shots she will have to have after ever single meal for the rest of her life. I felt empowered by the time they were done showing and explaining to me that she WILL still have a great life with many years yet. I am sincerely greatful to everyone at the Killeen Banfield Facility, Kira is getting right back to her spry self,and chases her big red squeaky ball as if she were still a puppy. After going to a different Banfield location I realize how awesome this location is. My family and fur babies have been going here since 2012, the ladies in the front are always so helpful they know my name and my pets names and sometimes even know who I am just from hearing my pets names on the phone! They are so welcoming and get to know you as people. While I'm at school I still call this location over the one by my campus for information because they are the only ones who understand my concerns and truly want to help. The veterinarians have always taken great care of all six of our pets and while we had our group of 6 pups and another group of 7 they always treated them with special care. I have submitted various complaints with no resolution. This all began over a month ago. I had four dogs on wellness plans for a few years or so. So when I added a new dog to my family it was only obvious I would add him as well. I called banfield and set up an appointment to get the fifth and new dog on to a welness plan. The appointment was set but was a few days away. Four days after setting up the appointment my new pup suffered from a seizure. The event itself was a horrifying experience. I than contact banfield to see if my dog can be seen sooner. I explain why and they agree to see him that day. I then ask what fees are involved and what needs to take place. The girl I spoke with on the phone and in person at banfield said that the main thing would be blood work which will all be covered under the wellness plan. She stated nothing would go beyond that. When I arrived at banfield again I was presented with pamphlets to select the wellness plan of my choice. I than am placed in a waiting room to wait for the doctor. It was there that I first hear that my pet would not be placed on a wellness plan and I would have to pay $200 plus dollars for blood work and exam. The situation and explanation was poor to non existent. Of course my only concern at the time was for my dog. I walk out and I'm upset at the end and complain at the front desk. The girl working the front desk goes on to explain that the manager Stephanie was the one who decided last minute not to go with the plan. I then place a complaint to banfield website. No response. I then call to complain to banfield corporate phone number to place complaint. I finally hear from Stephanie the Killeen banfield manager. Throughout the call she was very demeaning and seemed to not care about my concerns. I then call to place a complaint about the call and how this is being handled. Guess who calls me back, Stephanie the manager. in the mist of all this they taunt me by sending a card signed by all employees about passing of my dog(who is not dead). This has been a nightmare for me. I'm disgusted by the way this has been handled. I've spoken with the regional director Dr Whatley twice and requested to speak to who ever is above her. Her response is always there is no one. I'm still at lost for words when it comes to this situation. Attached is the card I was sent. Again my dogs are alive and doing well. I never called to say my dog died nor have I received a reason why I was sent that note or why my pet was changed to deceased in the system. Read Less

Please if you are looking for a vet do not go here.  I have had such a horrible experience here that I can not help but laugh.  After submitting a complaint about an issue the staff there became condescending and very rude.  They will lie about charges and surprise you on your way out.  Please be warned stay away.  They went as far as taunting me and sending a card were they stated my dog died, which clearly he did not.  Huge lack of professionalism here. I personally have had nothing but great experiences with this location. They have been taking great care of my Oliver for over 7 months now. Everytime I need something ( Even just advice) they have went out of thier way to help. We recently had and accident and Oliver was hurt pretty bad, they took him in right away and showed genuine concern for his well being. Most of the staff already know him by name and to be honest sometimes I think he's happier to see them than me. I can't speak on the other reviews I've read here, but for me I feel better knowing this location and staff are taking care of my baby. Read Less

I've never had any issues at this location. All of the staff are very friendly and helpful and are surprisingly patient with me and all my million questions. Only once I had my appt pushed a couple of days but I was fine they called ahead of time and apologized. Some of the nice girls at the front desk remember me and my dogs name and always ask how they are doing. I would say to make an appt in the morning is best since not usually packed. And they're open on the  weekends but it can get busy the whole day just depends on the number of animals that are scheduled for the day. Read Less

The wait to get an appointment at this location is ridiculous. Went in on 23 Nov to schedule at appointment for my dog's knee problem and to schedule for dental cleaning. Couldn't get an appointment until 3 weeks later for the knee and put on a "surgery wait list" for the dental. They probably didn't even add me to the list. At the previous Banfield's locations I used (SC and NJ) I was always able to walk-in the same day as a wellness plan user or get an appointment within two days. I was however able to contact the Temple location and get an appointment to have the hip/knee evaluated in a couple days and the dental before the end of the month. Soon as my wellness plan is done for the year switching to one of the local vets in Killeen that has great reviews on Yelp. Read Less

So there's probably a chance someone who came in late got infront of u. They don't have the ability to give certain medications (phenobarbital) for ur dog. They have to call it in a pharmacy nearby. It was just different and a hassle compared to the other Banfield we visited in NC and CA. There was always a "miscommunication" between the pharmacy and them whenever they had to call in refills for my dog's medication. I have to call them to let them know I needed refills. Then they call the pharmacy. I have no way of knowing if they actually did call... they don't let me know that they called the pharmacy... I have to call the pharmacy to confirm they did. There was a time they didn't call the pharmacy and I didn't know until I called the pharmacy. It was like 5 hours after I spoke with banfield.. I have to actually monitor if they called it in... or else I wouldn't know! If I don't take the time to follow up every single time... my dog's not gonna have the medication she needs on time. Its just so frustrating... we never had to deal with this issue before. Some of the receptionist they have don't have very good customer service manners either. They say they'll call you back, but they never do. I always end up calling them to remind them. Worst Banfield we ever visited. Read Less

I'm not sure where to start..... Upon arrival of my dogs 10:30 appointment (1st visit to this location) the ladies at the front desk were friendly during check in. We sat in the waiting room for 40 minutes before we were moved to a room. Another dog owner now waiting as well informed me that her appointment was at 11 and she was told her dog wouldn't be seen until 11:30 because there is a new system and the appointments are 30 minutes off. Well I was not informed of this. When we entered the room the vet tech Michael was very friendly but he had issues maneuvering through the system and appeared to be new. He told me that he recently started working there. I was okay with that. The Dr. finally came in and he didn't say much at all looked in my dogs eyes and ears. Much discussion was about her wellness plan and shots that are due at the end of the month but her plan doesn't renew until then so if I got the shots today I would have to pay. Anyway, I decided to wait since her shots were not expired. It seemed to be a big confusion with understanding the fact that I have heart worm tabs at home and did not need to purchase any at the money and I had flea & tick prevention at home and did not need to purchase any today. I didn't leave there until after 12:30 which is unheard of!!! I don't like my time to be wasted, waiting without a clear reason. So upon check out when I had to schedule an appointment for shot I asked why was there confusion. Well, the owner of this location has sold it and now this location will fall under  Corporate Banefield with the hiring of all new staff, transition of systems and many other things. So, there is some transitioning going on. I initially had 1 star and have no idea how to rate this visit but to be fair 2 stars is given for the 40 minute delay of the appointment without being informed of why and second because the Dr. did tell me anything about my dog other than eyes and ears are normal and healthy. They couldn't get blood because her veins are small and postponed it until the next appointment but her veins will always be small...... I will give this place one more try in a month with a different vet before I renew her plan to be sure she can continue to go here. I'm just happy my dog has always been healthy because if she wasn't I would prob not return. Read Less

If I could give 0 stars I would. this place is not good. One morning at 730 our dog who regularly went to Banfield was very sick and we needed to bring him in. We called and they said they were open. We rushed there and were told the vet didn't come in until 9 and our semi responsive dog absolutely could NOT wait. So we had to go to after hours. They also gave us wrong directions to the after hours place which- it's literally across the street. How hard would it have been to tell us that???  After the after hours visit that resuscitated our dog and cared for him, they recommended a location for us to take him to for the day and back to after hours etc. Banfield quickly became a FORMER vet.  I will never go back and will never recommend them.  Just seems like each dog is just a number. No actual " care" for the customers.  The vets were always great but the desk and the lack of care is bad. Read Less

They called me during the procedure to let me know of an issue they came across with one of his teeth and actually explained to me what my options were. Now my dog has clean teeth and fresh breath. The staff even spent some quality time with him during his recovery and took a cute picture of him to share with me. They are great people! Read Less

This has to be the worst Banfield I have ever been to. I have been on the Wellness Plan for 3 years. I have been to multiple Banfield hospitals. ( Charlotte, North Carolina ( 2 hospitals there) Ann Arbor, MI - Myrtle Beach, South Carolina). I have always received great service and I felt like my pet was being cared for. However my experience with the Killeen location has been awful. My husband brought my dog in to get medication for his allergies and have his feet looked at to make sure he did not have a yeast and bacterial infection due to him licking them (allergies). They (male doctor) sent him home saying nothing was wrong, when i called up there they said that is not what they advised my husband. Granted im sure there is a grey area of communication since it was my husband and not me there. I went up there 2 weeks later because my dogs feet clearly had an infection. Before the Doctor (a different one than he was seen by before a younger lady in her mid 30s kind of chunky with long brown hair) even looked at my dogs feet she had already tried to sell me $750 worth of food trial stuff just off of what I had told her of his issues. Well if she had even bothered to look into the system she would have noticed 2 years prior i had paid $350 to get an allergy test done on him to figure out what his chronic problems were caused from. And he is allergic to dust mites. She didnt even want to give me the medication i wanted. So i explained to her he needed a skin scrape done on his feet (not sure if she even did one) and that we would go from there. Needless to say she comes back and says he has an infection in his feet. Well dahh!!! And still tried to sell me all this other garbage i did not need. I told her i was only giving my dog medication and a steroid shot and all i was paying was $268 since that is what i always pay. She comes back with his medication and then it was $350. Umm wait why so much oh well you need this special shampoo and oil to squirt on his food. No take it off the list and give me his meds and steroid shot. Then they told me it was my responsibility to care for my dog and I was not doing that. With a snarky attitude like i was being unreasonable. Are you Kidding Me I have spent thousands of dollars treating my dog and I know what his issues are. All they want is to rip people off. Please if you actually want a good vet I recommend not going there and going to Belton on Aztec. I have since cancelled my wellness plan and was informed by Banfield that they are a privately owned hospital and they pay to use their name and that I was not the first to have this issues with them.Read Less

The vets here are really good and helpful however the rest of the staff isn't so great. The people that work the front desk never seem to know what's going on and when I try to ask them questions they act clueless. The vet assistant tried to make me sign up for the wellness plan since it would save me money but never explained it is a one year contract and neither did the girl working the front desk until after I signed for it. The next day I went back and cancelled it and got my money back. Also one time I took my cat in on the weekend during drop off times and they called me 5 minutes before they closed saying she was ready and that they were about to close. Well hello I would of came sooner if they called but they didn't. Also it seemed as though they keep all the pets there that long until they close because it was packed with other people picking up their pets. Read Less

You can get less expensive care for better quality almost anywhere else in the area.Staff is not very knowledgeable, and many of their team members have no idea what they are doing in the exam rooms. The tech that saw my dog didn't even know how to take a temp.Made an appointment for my dog to be seen for two weeks out, and I showed up and they told me that I wasn't on the schedule. Instead, they had put a deceased pet on the schedule and told me I would have a 3-4 hour wait as a walk in. Made a second appointment for another day...same thing happened.Made an appointment a MONTH out for some vaccines, SAME thing happened. Something is seriously wrong here.A friend came here, with simply a torn toe nail. Her bill was almost 1,000 dollars. For a TOE NAIL. That turned out would have healed completely fine on it's own.
