Do Not Board you pet here if they are under a 1 year old and are crate trained. I boarded my puppy and now that she is home she is all confused, because they do not walk any pets under 1 year old- I wasn't made aware of this even after noting on the form that she is crate trained. I will say they are an amazing clinic when it comes to vet care. Be advised your pet will be kept in their crate for the duration of their stay. Read Less

The staff is nice, and even nicer to the pets which is great. I brought my puppy in for her first shots and a microchip. She was really nervous, but the tech and doctor did their best to calm her down. They even clipped her nails for me which she needed done, but I'm nervous about doing it myself. My other dog has an appointment in a few days, and I'm relieved that he'll be comforted here.Updated review: this place is such a relief. They're nonjudgmental about your situation which I can't say for many other places. I brought my older dog (four years old) and he'd only gotten his first shots just earlier this year. They didn't ask any questions, whereas his first vet office in Houston made me feel very uncomfortable about him just now getting his shots at his age. Staff and all were super great. The reason I am giving this review is because my precious rabbit was taken here to get neutered about three days ago only to end up suffering and passing away. I AM SO HEARTBROKEN AND UPSET. I guess the veterinarian isn't savvy when it comes to exotic pets. I'm also a college student, so now not only do I not have my beautiful happy baby, but I also have one less college class I can afford due to the expenses of basically having the vet kill me baby. I am very pleased with the attention they gave me, even though I do not speak much English very gentile and caring employees. Take my guinea pig to be neutered, for which you need a veterinarian of exotic animals and it was all a success. In terms of price I am very happy with the cost of the operation. Called to make an appointment to get our cat neutered. I asked about the price and they said they were having a sale and it would be $40 something, and then asked if I had proof of his shot record which I did not because we are traveling from California. So it's $50 something now, which is fine. Well I take him in the morning of the drop off and am told that it's over $100! I tell them what I was told over the phone and she leaves to discuss this issue with whoever, then comes back and confirms it will be over $100. Reason why is because they have to give him a brief vaccination exam, rabies, license, and a couple other shots which is ridiculous! I feel they told me what they did over the phone just to get me into their office. Also I never got a call to pick my cat up, but when I did go the office lady kept trying to get someone to get our cat but nobody seemed to be around it was ridiculous. I'm very pleased with this vet office. Took my pet in for a check up ( he was throwing up & had diarrhea ). Instead of pushing me into having blood work done & multiple tests done, the vet ( Dr Erwin ) gave my pet a quick look over & suggested it was a dietary issue. It was in fact a dietary issue! After doing much research online for a good yet affordable veterinary clinic, I decided to call and make an appointment here for my dearly loved pet. The reviews were wonderful and I was not disappointed in the least bit. I called at 1:30 pm to see if I could get my 12 year old Chihuahua in for some concerns I was having. I got an appointment for 2:45pm. The lady who answered the phone was very friendly. When I arrived everyone was extremely friendly. Even the other people waiting to have their pets seen. The vet that saw my Chihuahua was Dr. Zollinger. He was very compassionate. I had several questions and I know he had other patients to see, but he took his time and answered every question I had. I had concerns financially so he explained what each thing would cost and what he thought was necessary and what could wait. Everything was very reasonable. When I was leaving, the lady at the front desk, I think her name was Paula, asked how everything went and was genuinely concerned. I will most assuredly recommend this wonderful place to anyone looking for a veterinary clinic. We adopted a dog from the shelter and needed to get him fixed. After calling around for availability and pricing, we decided on El Centro. The staff is so incredibly friendly and accommodating with appointments. They have excellent customer service! They're even better with the pets. You can tell they truly care about the animals by the way they interact with them and baby them.What impressed me most of all was the fact that they don't try to rip you off or "add-on" any unnecessary test/medications/services. I called El Centro on the same day and they gave me an appt to bring my baby girl to get spayed and to run test to make sure she didn't have heart worms or anything like that. El Centro Vet Clinic My girlies (Corgis) needed heartworm tests. I searched around to find the closest place that maybe had capability of taking in rescues immediately, in off chance another had been found. I called El Centro, and was told the price per dog, for the test, and was told we really did not need an appointment. We scheduled one anyway, hubby took my girlies in, knowing all information, or so he thought. The test was done on both, came out negative on both (thank God), and went to pay the bill where he was told that there was an additional fee. He was told, very specifically, that unless we could produce proof that our dogs had heartworm prevention meds, that Texas law MANDATES that we be charged for it, and provided it. Hubby contacted me, because since he was there, and I was here, he did not know how to prove that we had the meds here at the house, and they were not going to let him leave without that charge. When on the phone with him, he reiterated the conversation between he and the counter person, when I asked to speak to them. The female that took the phone again said quite clearly that because of the severity of heartworm problems here in Texas it is a LAW that all pets are given it, and if I could not produce proof yet again, that my dogs were in fact under a vets care, and had an Rx for it, I would be charged for it and provided it. While on the phone with her, I texted my vet in Albuquerque, advising her of the situation and what all I had been told. My vet told me to get their fax number and that she would immediately send the required information. I advised the vet clinic of this, and we left. Unbeknownst to me, my vet contacted this clinic, and asked about this law, when she was told that No, there really was no such law, but it is really important, and for the good of the dogs. My vet advised the woman that the conversation was hereby terminated, she had lied to their client, and as such was no longer trustworthy. I want to scream THANK YOU to ALL of the staff members at El Centro. I recently had to say goodbye to my best friend of nine years. My friend's name was Forrest. He was a 96 lb. Boxer and had been with me through the worst of times. I was terrified to let him go, and so I became selfish and kept putting off my goodbye. My poor Forrest was in diapers, was deaf, could no longer take walks (let alone run or wiggle his typical happy Boxer dance). I communicated with El Centro throughout the entire ordeal and they LISTENED to me. They were kind, thoughtful, professional and sympathetic. I finally let go of my best friend on September 1st. The El Centro staff allowed me to see what I had not seen in many months. I saw my Forrest as the majestic hero he once was...and then I let him go. Pat Davis is extremely sweet. I was really concered about my cat after she was spayed by another vet there and she had me come in right away to look her over after I sent an email. She was really sweet and had no problem explaining everything to me! Beware, they are hungry for your money!We were desperate to have our dog first check up on a Saturday and they were the only pet clinic that was open that time. They ended up "convincing" us really hard to do all the services right there right away without mentioning our options nor the prices of the services they wanted us to get so they can lure us in to their overpriced services. I have 4 dogs and 2 cats... my vet bills are an expensive cost each year. I was able to come in just before they closed, and they saw us all. All my years of being a pet owner, this is by far the most inexpensive place. The doctor, I believe his name was "Dr. Z" was great! Very caring about my furchildren. Affordable care, discounts, and medication. They gave me a great discount when I bought a years worth of Trifexis for my dogs, PLUS my mail in rebates. We took in a stray kitten,who had a nasty,stinky abscess on his chin.After reading about his condition online,we became very worried.at 7PM,we brought him here,because this was the only vet open.We are very happy that we found this place! This place is Awesome!....I just moved to the area n my 80 pounder baby has broken 2 nails rough housing with my other fur baby...I saw great reviews for this place n decided to take my prince in...I explained to the girls how prince is very vocal n growls but he won't hurt a fly...they took their time with him and did an amazing job!...we learned he is over protective with me so it's usually best for me to leave him and pick him up at a later time...prince is Always playing like the puppy he is and as a matter of fact...im waiting for them to open because it looks like prince dislocated his tail :-/ this dog is going to drive me to bankruptcy... We rescued a malnutritioned dog and took it to El Centro. They took advantage of our kind nature and sold us overpriced dog food, medication and we ended up paying $450 for them to say that the dog should live and be fine (with a eye surgery down the road). The next day, the dog passed away. I brought up my concerns with them  and they have never bothered responding back to me. Very uncaring. Read Less

My pets come here when medical problems arise (they go to Emancipet for regular vaccines and such).  My old man lab mix had his surgery here to remove a tumour above his eye (which was fully removed and healed very well) and has also been seen for seizures.  My younger dog has been treated for doggie pink eye.  The doctors, techs, and staff are all very friendly.  Prices, procedures, tests, etc. are all individually explained and I've never felt like like anyone was trying to "upsell" products and/or services just to make a quick buck.  They always work to squeeze you in as soon as possible (usually same day or next day) when your pet needs to be seen...none of that "The soonest appointment is in two weeks" crap. My dog had several infected teeth that made her eye swell to the size of a golf ball (literally, she's a 6lb chihuahua) my husband called them black Friday and they said they were busy but to bring her in anyways. He waited about 20 minutes to be seen and was told they needed to remove all her teeth and it would be over $600. We couldn't afford it and they worked something out with him and cut the price in half! I went with him to pick her up and the staff were all EXTREMELY friendly and warm hearted. When I saw my drugged up pooch I started crying and the nurse consoled me until we left.
