After a week after taking my parakeet to gulf coast animal hospital and struggling to help my pet get better from a terrible sickness, I knew it was time to end his pain. He was suffering. He could not walk or move any longer. I called the only vet nearby that handles exotics and being a long time client I requested a euthanasia on my sick bird. It was about 11:30 am. The receptionist was very cold and uncaring as she said I could not come in until the next day at 6:00 pm. I tried to relay that my pet was suffering and I was met with a person that just didn’t care. I am a licensed veterinary technician and I know a euthanasia of a parakeet would have taken very little time and my animal was in such pain. It took a few hours for him to die on his own and I stayed with him the entire time he suffered a great deal before passing away and I had to watch him die a slow death. It is not normal for a vet to refuse to help a terminal animal pass away when they are in pain. I don’t understand their actions but I wanted others to know so they can avoid the same experience. No animal should die like that and their is something wrong with a vet that doesn’t care whether an animal is hurting o not. Please be aware that this happened. I don’t want anyone to go through what I did. There is nothing that can erase the memory of my pet dying this way and I will remember it always. Don’t let this happen to you. Doctors take an oath that includes they will do no harm to an animal. Well they certainly did today.

I had a good experience with this vet in 2018, moved away and came back to visit family, and my three legged dog needed a nail trim. I advised the facility in advance he only had three legs and was uncomfortable with being handled by strangers and wiggly, they seemed confident and I decided to take my dog as I previously had a good experience and often hear good things about the compassion of the staff. When they brought my dog back out to me they didn't even mention they had cut the quick on SEVERAL nails. We only noticed when he bled all over the back seat. His front paw, the only paw he has on the front, had two nails cut negligently short. The rest of the nails are very inconsistent in length. He hardly wants to put any pressure on his front paw, which is unfortunately impossible for him as it's his only front paw. I wouldn't have been as furious or disappointed if they had taken the initiative that every other vet who has nicked the quick did and at least warned me, but instead they let me find out on my own by noticing blood smeared all over the back seat of my car. A tech did come out to try and stop the bleeding a second time, as the told me they "made sure he wasn't bleeding anymore" inside. It wasn't successful as he bled twice more (we tried to stop the bleeding ourselves with first aid clotting styptic powder) on the way and at home just during regular walking around the house and not excited so his blood pressure wasn't high. I believe I should have been told beforehand that he was bleeding at all. Especially considering he only has three legs so the front paw is even more vital to him.
I'm sad to leave this review as I previously recommended this vet to several people. I felt this could have been handled much better, or if they weren't equipped to trim the nails of a tripawd who wiggles during handling I wish they would have told me instead of mangling his nails on the only front paw he has left and a back nail as well. I would have respected that much more than trying to sneak an injured dog home without warning.
My parents had our family cat euthanized here when she no longer had an the ability to live happily at the age of 18 and they had a wonderful experience with a very compassionate vet. I wish I could've said the same, please reconsider your policy on informing clients of any injury incurred during a visit, it would have greatly impacted my interpretation of this event and I wouldn't have left this review if you had informed me or at least apologized for the numerous nicked quicks. Also please consider retraining your staff on where it is appropriate to trim on a nail. He has always had his nails trimmed at a vet and I have never received him back in such a condition.

I have an African Grey parrot which requires an Avian vet, not just a vet that will see birds. My baby had what was obviously an eye injury and the got him in right away. They knew exactly what to do and how to handle him. He is a handfed baby and they also took the time to educate me on diet, how much he should eat at any given weight, and when to start weaning him. We will definitely be making this our permanent vet home.

Great place to take your pets and they even take hedgehogs they do things by appointment but don’t be afraid to call and see if they can double book you like they did with me. They really helped put me and my wife at ease with everything and they have a great payment plan to which they are very straightforward with and both the other clients and staff are super nice and collected. They took really good care of our little Mabel, going to have to go back for a check up. Most likely this is going to be the place I start going to from now on it really was a great experience

I had friends recommend this place, I called and made an appointment for our new kitty to have shots and was told 10:30, the day before the appointment I called since no one had called to verify, I was told it was for 10:45 we got there about 10:25 and there was about three people waiting. after about an hour my husband was getting upset, no one said a word why the wait or it would be soon. about 12:30 they call us. we waited two hours. never again! over booked and I guess the only vet on duty? then don't book so many people. I use Westbury animal hospital off post oak, long way to go but never had that experience there and the doc's are great! 24/7 care. I would just beware of the long wait time at 494 animal hospital. we wouldn't waited but it was the kitty's first vet visit and he was already stressed. Best of luck!

We recently switched to Loop 494 Animal Hospital after our vet retired. We have so far been very pleased with our experience. Our dogs have seen two different vets at this location and both were kind, caring and patient. The prices for service are reasonable and the staff seems willing to take their time and ensure appropriate care. They do seem to be overbooked sometimes and the wait can be long which is the only reason I did not give 5 stars. We believe that the trade-off for the excellent care is worth it and will continue to use their services for the foreseeable future.

I chose this clinic in an emergency when my regular vet was unavailable to see my ailing furbaby. They were compassionate and treated our case as an urgent one from the get-go. The wait was minimal to see a vet and they were precise when they told me the amount of time it would take for me to get some answers. The great thing about this animal clinic is that they had never seen me in my life and did not know my sweet cat, but they sure treated us like we were a part of their family. The vet answered all of my questions over the phone and when I called back she got on the phone with no wait time to answer additional concerns of mine. When we had to return for the final time, the entire staff was courteous, respectful, and empathetic. The awfulness of this day was made a little bit easier by the kindness and care of the employees and veterinarians and I am so thankful.

The staff are all nice, knowledgeable, and forthright when elicited. And [at least] a couple of the main doctors seem to stay on top of current veterinary standards and practices. They also have major experience with "exotic" small animals like ferrets... One of the vets even owns a few!

I have taken my exotic pets here for the last 3 years and have usually seen Dr. Bobby, however I have seen Dr. Dori as well. I have always been pleased with the service from the front counter and from the vet. Recently one of my pets was fighting for his life, with heart failure. This caused me to see the vet often and have a ton of questions for them. Dr. Bobby was so understanding through this process and went above and beyond to ensure I had no question left unanswered and I was sure about the next steps for my pet. He even called to check on me before the weekend to make sure I didnt need anything for my little guy. When I called the front desk many times, they were always understanding and never made me feel bad for having another question. When it came time to end my pets fight, Bobby and the vet tech (I am unsure her name but a lovely lady with red hair) were so very sweet and understanding, as was the front desk who allowed me to pay ahead of time and sit in my car with my pet until it was my turn to go back. This was a horrible day for me and everyone did everything they could to make it just a little easier, in any way they could. Seeing this compassion and not only love for animals, but care and concern for the humans, it put me in awe. I have been to some vets where all they see is $ and for any question you have, its an office visit charge and any hard decisions you are met with coldness and no help. Not Loop 494! After everything, I decided to move my two dogs and cat from their previous vet to here. My dog just had her first appointment this week and again Dr. Bobby was amazing.
Plus it doesn't hurt that their rates are better than half the vets in the area!

The only animal I would take there is my tortoise. Dr. Dori was awesome with him. I took my neo mastiff male there this year and Dr. Oliveraz or whatever. The Younger guy with beard, grabbed my mastiff on his back hard and told him no, while he had a muzzle on cause he growled. He made the remark he didn't like these dogs. Took my female mastiff there end of April , on a Monday, very sick after having 13 puppies. Her fever was 106.8 and she had mastitis. Gave her a good antibiotic, but weakest there was in it and a steroid shot to reduce fever, She needed fluids but didn't give them. Her fever never went down. After hydroing her for 30 min at a time, Told me to bring her back on Thursday. I messaged my horse vet on Tuesday night and she said she needed fluids. She referred me to a different vet and i called and left message with them. They got me in Wednesday morning before opening and kept my dog. Her white bc was 6800 on Monday and Wednesday morning was 48000. She would have died if the other vet hadn't taken her in. Will never take another dog back there to that man. He is an absolute gisgrace to the veterinary world. Either you like all dogs or don't.

Dr. Mueller is awesome with cats and has had to break the news to me that my 18year old Manx had cancer.( another place thought it was just a growth) He and his staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to help you in any matter concerning your "fur family".
Monday's are extremely busy and sometimes the front staff gets overwhelmed with clients, phone calls and computers that are slow, but you will never find a more helpful and friendly staff of folks.

We have tried 2 other vets in Kingwood and lets just say I would rather bring my animal to a not so "clean" looking place like one reviewer wrote than a sparkling clean place that overcharges you for everything they do. We have never had to wait unless an emergency animal came in and needed immediate attention, for that I have no issues in letting someone go ahead of me.
Dr.Dori and her staff have been nothing but great! When I called for a second opinion and not yet a customer they took us immediately. Dr.Dori spent about 45 mins to an hour checking my dog out, loving on him in between checking him out, just something we had not been seeing elsewhere.
Pricing....hands down the best!! I have compared receipts which were many and very high from elsewhere for the same services and saved almost half on somethings, a little less on others but when you add up all the savings you don't feel like you are being raked over the coals trying to take care of part of your family.
We will never leave 494 to go anywhere else, they are our Vet of choice from now on.

Love, love this clinic. When I lived in Kingwood, this was my old girl's clinic and they eventually performed her euthanization. )-: The staff there are friendly, funny, very caring, understanding, and were so, so considerate of the love I had for my girl. After the euthanization....they said I could stay with her as long as I wanted! Her ashes came back to me in this beautiful box with her sweet little name on it. I agree with another commenter.....they are very much like a small town vet and give that type of service. Once you get in the room with them...they make you feel as if your pet is their only patient. Although all the vets are great...my favorite is Dr. Dorrie...hope I spelled it right!

I have been taking my animals there since 2006. After recieving my degree, I decided to work there for a couple of years. From 2006 until now , I have loved every vet. From Dr. Muller who loves doing surgeries , Dr Dori who loves her ferrets and Dr. Bobby who is great with exotics such as birds , they have always made me feel welcome and treated my animals like one of their own. They genuinely care about my animals well being and will do everything they can do to help. From day one I've always felt welcomed. Not only are they all amazing vets, the prices are amazing compared to any place I've been to and the front desk and techs are very helpful and sweet. Everyone there seems to love their job . It's refreshing to walk in and feel like you're at home. Give them a shot if you're looking for a new clinic

My two street rescues have been going to Loop 494 since I found them. The staff have always been accommodating, nice and helpful to me for years. The prices are extremely reasonable. I have seen all 3 of the vets there but my favorite is the female vet, Dr. Hortel who has a wonderful bedside manner and displays a great deal of passion for her craft. I moved downtown 2 years ago but still take my dogs to this vet because my inner loop vet charges 30% more for everything so now I only use the inner loop for boarding. Keep up the great work 494. Cat got same thing the other cat did. They were quick to tell what it was and treated him but he brought it home to my other cat. DON't Take Your Cats here. They will. Get sicker than before you brought them there.

I been to this location in the past, my reptile was sick and she was taken care of, awesome right. Well she got the same sickness, so I took her in to get a shot. (Just like last time) Before she got the shot my reptile was walking around just fine, even the vet said my reptile was fine , there was nothing abnormal about her body structure or anything. Turns out that the following day my reptile DIED! I would have like to have known WHY she died. But I was told I would have to pay in order to find out, which is not very understandable since I was told my reptile looked fine and it died a day after the shot was given. They could have at least given me a refund for the examination and shot fee or have found out why she died without giving me a fee, but all I was told was "oh no ,mmm mmm, we don't do refunds".

We took our dog, Kit to this hospital when he turned up sick one morning. He just seemed to have no energy and that's odd, since he is usually nothing but energy. The doc we usually use was booked up, but 494 said they could work us in. Yay. This is an old school vet practice with a small waiting room and lots of business. Cats and dogs are in the same waiting area and if a chaotic dog comes in, it can make for a chaotic scene. Fortunately, the staff knows how to handle that and quickly remove the problem animals to the back for holding. The doctors and vet techs are very nice and friendly. The doc quickly diagnosed Kit with a tummy infection and gave us some advice and great medicine. We also got some excellent flea meds and pro-biotics for the pups and the cats. UPDATE: I've now taken 2 rescue cats here for tests/vaccines and one of them got neutered. Everything has been smooth, compassionate and very professional. The cat that was neutered recovered very quickly and with no after surgery pain These folks run a compassionate and caring practice.

We have been coming here since we moved to Kingwood. I have always been pleased with the services and the services done. We have two Boston Terriers we bring in together for their yearly shots and check ups and for their meds. Prices seem reasonable for all we get done. I will continue to use them The ONLY small little down side is sometimes the waiting seats are dirty. The last time we went in there was blood on them but I am sure its diffcult to keep them clean with as many animals come in and out on an hourly basis.

I have lived in Kingwood since 2004 and have tried several area veterinarians most gave adequate care to my animals but one in particular had prices that were extreme..I never got out of there for less than $400. This made me look for someone more reasonable and my groomer recommended loop 494. In most every case I have used them, they have been half the price of that other vet. I have used them now for years and over the course of time, have had each of them see my animals. They are all good vets including the new guy (although it may be true that he has not quite the listening skills and bedside manner of the others). He just completely turned around my dog who before we saw him, I thought just might die any day. Consequently he is my man's best friend's -new best friend and that makes me thrilled!

All my family has been using Loop 494 for over 12 years. My sister for more than 15 years. Dr Muller (he is my favorite vet here) has taken the best care of my dogs. He listens, explains, and never rushes me out. Staff is really nice. Prices are very reasonable. You can even get in on short notice for important issues. I am thankful they are here.

We had been using this vet for years but will not be returning. I needed to bring my dog in for a possible staff infection and nasty rash on his stomach and looking at a possibly cancerous growth in the same area. I asked for the latest appointment they had that day and that was 5:30. I guess I was the last appointment of the day so everyone was ready to go home and didn't seem to care about my dog. The Dr I saw (a new Dr I have never seen before, I think his name was Dr. Noni but I'm not sure as he never told me) didn't even put my dog on the table or even LOOK at the nasty rash/infection. All he did was give me some $30 shampoo that I did not need and antibiotics. When I ask him about the growth he would not look at it and just told me to bring him back in if it grows! All that costs me $200! They have greatly increased their priced and turned into a typical "Kingwood" vet just trying to screw you over every chance they can sell you something.

I have been coming to this location for about 10 years now. Dr. Dori is the vet that taken care of all my animals from a guinea pig to a dog. Recently, i had to take my kitty in for an emergency. When i called, the front desk said they were booked, but would speak with Dr. Dori about trying to squeeze me in. As i patiently waited, the lady came back on and said she could try her best to see me, but i needed to be there at a certain time. I showed up when i was suppose to with my very scared kitty. In no time Dr. Dori saw us and gave us great news!The pricing is very reasonable considering it almost costs the same as people now a days to see a doctor.I have referred many friends and family members to Dr. Dori, and all of them have been pleased with her and her staff.

After a week after taking my parakeet to gulf coast animal hospital and struggling to help my pet get better from a terrible sickness, I knew it was time to end his pain. He was suffering. He could not walk or move any longer. I called the only vet nearby that handles exotics and being a long time client I requested a euthanasia on my sick bird. It was about 11:30 am. The receptionist was very cold and uncaring as she said I could not come in until the next day at 6:00 pm. I tried to relay that my pet was suffering and I was met with a person that just didn’t care. I am a licensed veterinary technician and I know a euthanasia of a parakeet would have taken very little time and my animal was in such pain. It took a few hours for him to die on his own and I stayed with him the entire time he suffered a great deal before passing away and I had to watch him die a slow death. It is not normal for a vet to refuse to help a terminal animal pass away when they are in pain. I don’t understand their actions but I wanted others to know so they can avoid the same experience. No animal should die like that and their is something wrong with a vet that doesn’t care whether an animal is hurting o not. Please be aware that this happened. I don’t want anyone to go through what I did. There is nothing that can erase the memory of my pet dying this way and I will remember it always. Don’t let this happen to you. Doctors take an oath that includes they will do no harm to an animal. Well they certainly did today.

I had a good experience with this vet in 2018, moved away and came back to visit family, and my three legged dog needed a nail trim. I advised the facility in advance he only had three legs and was uncomfortable with being handled by strangers and wiggly, they seemed confident and I decided to take my dog as I previously had a good experience and often hear good things about the compassion of the staff. When they brought my dog back out to me they didn't even mention they had cut the quick on SEVERAL nails. We only noticed when he bled all over the back seat. His front paw, the only paw he has on the front, had two nails cut negligently short. The rest of the nails are very inconsistent in length. He hardly wants to put any pressure on his front paw, which is unfortunately impossible for him as it's his only front paw. I wouldn't have been as furious or disappointed if they had taken the initiative that every other vet who has nicked the quick did and at least warned me, but instead they let me find out on my own by noticing blood smeared all over the back seat of my car. A tech did come out to try and stop the bleeding a second time, as the told me they "made sure he wasn't bleeding anymore" inside. It wasn't successful as he bled twice more (we tried to stop the bleeding ourselves with first aid clotting styptic powder) on the way and at home just during regular walking around the house and not excited so his blood pressure wasn't high. I believe I should have been told beforehand that he was bleeding at all. Especially considering he only has three legs so the front paw is even more vital to him.
I'm sad to leave this review as I previously recommended this vet to several people. I felt this could have been handled much better, or if they weren't equipped to trim the nails of a tripawd who wiggles during handling I wish they would have told me instead of mangling his nails on the only front paw he has left and a back nail as well. I would have respected that much more than trying to sneak an injured dog home without warning.
My parents had our family cat euthanized here when she no longer had an the ability to live happily at the age of 18 and they had a wonderful experience with a very compassionate vet. I wish I could've said the same, please reconsider your policy on informing clients of any injury incurred during a visit, it would have greatly impacted my interpretation of this event and I wouldn't have left this review if you had informed me or at least apologized for the numerous nicked quicks. Also please consider retraining your staff on where it is appropriate to trim on a nail. He has always had his nails trimmed at a vet and I have never received him back in such a condition.

I have an African Grey parrot which requires an Avian vet, not just a vet that will see birds. My baby had what was obviously an eye injury and the got him in right away. They knew exactly what to do and how to handle him. He is a handfed baby and they also took the time to educate me on diet, how much he should eat at any given weight, and when to start weaning him. We will definitely be making this our permanent vet home.

Great place to take your pets and they even take hedgehogs they do things by appointment but don’t be afraid to call and see if they can double book you like they did with me. They really helped put me and my wife at ease with everything and they have a great payment plan to which they are very straightforward with and both the other clients and staff are super nice and collected. They took really good care of our little Mabel, going to have to go back for a check up. Most likely this is going to be the place I start going to from now on it really was a great experience

I had friends recommend this place, I called and made an appointment for our new kitty to have shots and was told 10:30, the day before the appointment I called since no one had called to verify, I was told it was for 10:45 we got there about 10:25 and there was about three people waiting. after about an hour my husband was getting upset, no one said a word why the wait or it would be soon. about 12:30 they call us. we waited two hours. never again! over booked and I guess the only vet on duty? then don't book so many people. I use Westbury animal hospital off post oak, long way to go but never had that experience there and the doc's are great! 24/7 care. I would just beware of the long wait time at 494 animal hospital. we wouldn't waited but it was the kitty's first vet visit and he was already stressed. Best of luck!

We recently switched to Loop 494 Animal Hospital after our vet retired. We have so far been very pleased with our experience. Our dogs have seen two different vets at this location and both were kind, caring and patient. The prices for service are reasonable and the staff seems willing to take their time and ensure appropriate care. They do seem to be overbooked sometimes and the wait can be long which is the only reason I did not give 5 stars. We believe that the trade-off for the excellent care is worth it and will continue to use their services for the foreseeable future.

I chose this clinic in an emergency when my regular vet was unavailable to see my ailing furbaby. They were compassionate and treated our case as an urgent one from the get-go. The wait was minimal to see a vet and they were precise when they told me the amount of time it would take for me to get some answers. The great thing about this animal clinic is that they had never seen me in my life and did not know my sweet cat, but they sure treated us like we were a part of their family. The vet answered all of my questions over the phone and when I called back she got on the phone with no wait time to answer additional concerns of mine. When we had to return for the final time, the entire staff was courteous, respectful, and empathetic. The awfulness of this day was made a little bit easier by the kindness and care of the employees and veterinarians and I am so thankful.

(But if you're wanting to see the same vet each visit, make sure to specifically request them every time you schedule an appointment). The staff are all nice, knowledgeable, and forthright when elicited. And [at least] a couple of the main doctors seem to stay on top of current veterinary standards and practices. They also have major experience with "exotic" small animals like ferrets... One of the vets even owns a few!

I have taken my exotic pets here for the last 3 years and have usually seen Dr. Bobby, however I have seen Dr. Dori as well. I have always been pleased with the service from the front counter and from the vet. Recently one of my pets was fighting for his life, with heart failure. This caused me to see the vet often and have a ton of questions for them. Dr. Bobby was so understanding through this process and went above and beyond to ensure I had no question left unanswered and I was sure about the next steps for my pet. He even called to check on me before the weekend to make sure I didnt need anything for my little guy. When I called the front desk many times, they were always understanding and never made me feel bad for having another question. When it came time to end my pets fight, Bobby and the vet tech (I am unsure her name but a lovely lady with red hair) were so very sweet and understanding, as was the front desk who allowed me to pay ahead of time and sit in my car with my pet until it was my turn to go back. This was a horrible day for me and everyone did everything they could to make it just a little easier, in any way they could. Seeing this compassion and not only love for animals, but care and concern for the humans, it put me in awe. I have been to some vets where all they see is $ and for any question you have, its an office visit charge and any hard decisions you are met with coldness and no help. Not Loop 494! After everything, I decided to move my two dogs and cat from their previous vet to here. My dog just had her first appointment this week and again Dr. Bobby was amazing.
Plus it doesn't hurt that their rates are better than half the vets in the area!

I have taken my exotic pets here for the last 3 years and have usually seen Dr. Bobby, however I have seen Dr. Dori as well. I have always been pleased with the service from the front counter and from the vet. Recently one of my pets was fighting for his life, with heart failure. This caused me to see the vet often and have a ton of questions for them. Dr. Bobby was so understanding through this process and went above and beyond to ensure I had no question left unanswered and I was sure about the next steps for my pet. He even called to check on me before the weekend to make sure I didnt need anything for my little guy. When I called the front desk many times, they were always understanding and never made me feel bad for having another question. When it came time to end my pets fight, Bobby and the vet tech (I am unsure her name but a lovely lady with red hair) were so very sweet and understanding, as was the front desk who allowed me to pay ahead of time and sit in my car with my pet until it was my turn to go back. This was a horrible day for me and everyone did everything they could to make it just a little easier, in any way they could. Seeing this compassion and not only love for animals, but care and concern for the humans, it put me in awe. I have been to some vets where all they see is $ and for any question you have, its an office visit charge and any hard decisions you are met with coldness and no help. Not Loop 494! After everything, I decided to move my two dogs and cat from their previous vet to here. My dog just had her first appointment this week and again Dr. Bobby was amazing. Plus it doesn't hurt that their rates are better than half the vets in the area!

The only animal I would take there is my tortoise. Dr. Dori was awesome with him. I took my neo mastiff male there this year and Dr. Oliveraz or whatever. The Younger guy with beard, grabbed my mastiff on his back hard and told him no, while he had a muzzle on cause he growled. He made the remark he didn't like these dogs. Took my female mastiff there end of April , on a Monday, very sick after having 13 puppies. Her fever was 106.8 and she had mastitis. Gave her a good antibiotic, but weakest there was in it and a steroid shot to reduce fever, She needed fluids but didn't give them. Her fever never went down. After hydroing her for 30 min at a time, Told me to bring her back on Thursday. I messaged my horse vet on Tuesday night and she said she needed fluids. She referred me to a different vet and i called and left message with them. They got me in Wednesday morning before opening and kept my dog. Her white bc was 6800 on Monday and Wednesday morning was 48000. She would have died if the other vet hadn't taken her in. Will never take another dog back there to that man. He is an absolute gisgrace to the veterinary world. Either you like all dogs or don't.

Dr. Mueller is awesome with cats and has had to break the news to me that my 18year old Manx had cancer.( another place thought it was just a growth) He and his staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to help you in any matter concerning your "fur family".
Monday's are extremely busy and sometimes the front staff gets overwhelmed with clients, phone calls and computers that are slow, but you will never find a more helpful and friendly staff of folks.

We have tried 2 other vets in Kingwood and lets just say I would rather bring my animal to a not so "clean" looking place like one reviewer wrote than a sparkling clean place that overcharges you for everything they do. We have never had to wait unless an emergency animal came in and needed immediate attention, for that I have no issues in letting someone go ahead of me.
Dr.Dori and her staff have been nothing but great! When I called for a second opinion and not yet a customer they took us immediately. Dr.Dori spent about 45 mins to an hour checking my dog out, loving on him in between checking him out, just something we had not been seeing elsewhere.
Pricing....hands down the best!! I have compared receipts which were many and very high from elsewhere for the same services and saved almost half on somethings, a little less on others but when you add up all the savings you don't feel like you are being raked over the coals trying to take care of part of your family.
We will never leave 494 to go anywhere else, they are our Vet of choice from now on.

When I lived in Kingwood, this was my old girl's clinic and they eventually performed her euthanization. )-: The staff there are friendly, funny, very caring, understanding, and were so, so considerate of the love I had for my girl. After the euthanization....they said I could stay with her as long as I wanted! Her ashes came back to me in this beautiful box with her sweet little name on it. I agree with another commenter.....they are very much like a small town vet and give that type of service. Once you get in the room with them...they make you feel as if your pet is their only patient. Although all the vets are great...my favorite is Dr. Dorrie...hope I spelled it right!

I have been taking my animals there since 2006. After recieving my degree, I decided to work there for a couple of years. From 2006 until now , I have loved every vet. From Dr. Muller who loves doing surgeries , Dr Dori who loves her ferrets and Dr. Bobby who is great with exotics such as birds , they have always made me feel welcome and treated my animals like one of their own. They genuinely care about my animals well being and will do everything they can do to help. From day one I've always felt welcomed. Not only are they all amazing vets, the prices are amazing compared to any place I've been to and the front desk and techs are very helpful and sweet. Everyone there seems to love their job . It's refreshing to walk in and feel like you're at home. Give them a shot if you're looking for a new clinic

My two street rescues have been going to Loop 494 since I found them. The staff have always been accommodating, nice and helpful to me for years. The prices are extremely reasonable. I have seen all 3 of the vets there but my favorite is the female vet, Dr. Hortel who has a wonderful bedside manner and displays a great deal of passion for her craft. I moved downtown 2 years ago but still take my dogs to this vet because my inner loop vet charges 30% more for everything so now I only use the inner loop for boarding. Keep up the great work 494. (Just like last time) Before she got the shot my reptile was walking around just fine, even the vet said my reptile was fine , there was nothing abnormal about her body structure or anything. Turns out that the following day my reptile DIED! I would have like to have known WHY she died. But I was told I would have to pay in order to find out, which is not very understandable since I was told my reptile looked fine and it died a day after the shot was given. They could have at least given me a refund for the examination and shot fee or have found out why she died without giving me a fee, but all I was told was "oh no ,mmm mmm, we don't do refunds".

We took our dog, Kit to this hospital when he turned up sick one morning. He just seemed to have no energy and that's odd, since he is usually nothing but energy. The doc we usually use was booked up, but 494 said they could work us in. Yay. This is an old school vet practice with a small waiting room and lots of business. Cats and dogs are in the same waiting area and if a chaotic dog comes in, it can make for a chaotic scene. Fortunately, the staff knows how to handle that and quickly remove the problem animals to the back for holding. The doctors and vet techs are very nice and friendly. The doc quickly diagnosed Kit with a tummy infection and gave us some advice and great medicine. We also got some excellent flea meds and pro-biotics for the pups and the cats. UPDATE: I've now taken 2 rescue cats here for tests/vaccines and one of them got neutered. Everything has been smooth, compassionate and very professional. The cat that was neutered recovered very quickly and with no after surgery pain These folks run a compassionate and caring practice.

We have been coming here since we moved to Kingwood. I have always been pleased with the services and the services done. We have two Boston Terriers we bring in together for their yearly shots and check ups and for their meds. Prices seem reasonable for all we get done. I will continue to use them The ONLY small little down side is sometimes the waiting seats are dirty. The last time we went in there was blood on them but I am sure its diffcult to keep them clean with as many animals come in and out on an hourly basis.

I have lived in Kingwood since 2004 and have tried several area veterinarians most gave adequate care to my animals but one in particular had prices that were extreme..I never got out of there for less than $400. This made me look for someone more reasonable and my groomer recommended loop 494. In most every case I have used them, they have been half the price of that other vet. I have used them now for years and over the course of time, have had each of them see my animals. They are all good vets including the new guy (although it may be true that he has not quite the listening skills and bedside manner of the others). He just completely turned around my dog who before we saw him, I thought just might die any day. Consequently he is my man's best friend's -new best friend and that makes me thrilled!

All my family has been using Loop 494 for over 12 years. My sister for more than 15 years. Dr Muller (he is my favorite vet here) has taken the best care of my dogs. He listens, explains, and never rushes me out. Staff is really nice. Prices are very reasonable. You can even get in on short notice for important issues. I am thankful they are here.

We had been using this vet for years but will not be returning. I needed to bring my dog in for a possible staff infection and nasty rash on his stomach and looking at a possibly cancerous growth in the same area. I asked for the latest appointment they had that day and that was 5:30. I guess I was the last appointment of the day so everyone was ready to go home and didn't seem to care about my dog. The Dr I saw (a new Dr I have never seen before, I think his name was Dr. Noni but I'm not sure as he never told me) didn't even put my dog on the table or even LOOK at the nasty rash/infection. All he did was give me some $30 shampoo that I did not need and antibiotics. When I ask him about the growth he would not look at it and just told me to bring him back in if it grows! All that costs me $200! They have greatly increased their priced and turned into a typical "Kingwood" vet just trying to screw you over every chance they can sell you something.

I have been coming to this location for about 10 years now. Dr. Dori is the vet that taken care of all my animals from a guinea pig to a dog. Recently, i had to take my kitty in for an emergency. When i called, the front desk said they were booked, but would speak with Dr. Dori about trying to squeeze me in. As i patiently waited, the lady came back on and said she could try her best to see me, but i needed to be there at a certain time. I showed up when i was suppose to with my very scared kitty. In no time Dr. Dori saw us and gave us great news!The pricing is very reasonable considering it almost costs the same as people now a days to see a doctor.I have referred many friends and family members to Dr. Dori, and all of them have been pleased with her and her staff.
