I have been to this vet twice, both times were unsatisfactory. I transerred from the VCA Countryside location because I thought that my new home was too far, but in reality, both are about 20 minutes from me.
My first visit was to simply have my dog groomed and to get her a flea treatment, that's it. I check in at the desk and they discovered that my baby needed the Bordetella shot, which I had not problem with getting.I am then notified that, in order to become a patient, my baby would need to receive a series of flu shots, which is something my 8 year old dog has never had nor needed. No vet has ever told me that was a necessity. Just for the sake of time, I agreed to get the first shot, and scheduled to go back for the others (which I never did). Basically, that visit cost me about $230+. It would have been more, but the office visit fee was waved because I was not told of how much it was before dropping my baby off.
My second visit was due to my finding lumps in my baby's lower abdomen. They were, more than likely, cancerous tumors. It seemed as if they developed overnight because I constantly pet my baby...anyway. I tooker her there to see what was going on and to discuss options. I was given a $460 quote for a BIOPSY--NOT SURGERY, A BIOPSY. Then I was told that it wold be more costly for then surgery and then I'd need an oncologist..blah, blah, blah...I sat there crying to this woman because I was afraid that I would not be able to save my baby. I left there feeling like depressed and heartbroken because I've had my dog for 8 years. If it were not for my calling my mother, and she telling me not to give up; I would have given up. I ended up searching for low cost vets and found one. My entire quote was $560 (spay, tumor removal, anesthesia, pain meds, etc,. included). Let's just say thay this company has definitely lost a customer. So, please stop contacting me. Read Less
