On the worst day of my life thus far, I had to bring in my beloved dog to them to be put to sleep. We had been with Garden Ridge for years so they knew us. I was inconsolable as this was a dog I had with me through high school and college. We grew up together. She was like family to me. Nobody spoke to me when I dropped her off. No consolation or caring. Garden Ridge never contacted me after I walked out the door on that awful day. No card, no check-in for how I was doing. I wanted her collar and leash. They gave me nothing. I guess after they received our money, there was no need to pretend they gave a crap about a long-time client/ patient anymore. So disappointing. Steer clear, folks. Find a vet that has some caring and compassion for your pet. Read Less

Nathan (my cat) received really friendly and speedy care here for worms.  They got us in same day I called and were not pushy for other services even though he really did need other care, but the worms were the main issue.  They even suggested community programs for the multiple services I need for my cat.  He is usually a very nervous kitty and they made him feel comfortable during his visit.  I would definitely go back if I ever have something come up like this again! This will be the last purchase I ever make from their online pharmacy. It has been 7 days since my order was approved and processed and still no heart worm medication for my dog. I called UPS and was told my shipment was being processed by UPS mail innovations which is delivered thru USPS. I called USPS with the tracking number that Garden Ridge Veterinary provided and they told me that they haven't even received the package from UPS so it hasn't even been processed yet. I'd also like to recognize Sandy for her lack of professionalism and not being able to do anything to help my situation. Read Less

I met with Dr.Pena to do a recheck of my puppy's broken leg. The nurse took down all my information and weighed my dog. Dr. Pena came in and checked her teeth and ears and then talked to me about the x-rays I provided from the emergency clinic. They suggested I take her to an orthopedic surgeon to talk to them about my options. Surgery was out of the question due to finances but they still suggested I go get a consult because the surgeon would have better statistics to give me on the likely hood of my puppy's leg healing. No x-rays were taken, and he did not suggest redoing the splint to make sure everything was okay inside. I took my puppy to another vet and found out that her foot was literally rotting inside the splint. They need to be changed often and even then this kind of thing can still happen. Dr. Pena did not tell me any of the dangers about splints so that I could at least keep an eye out for any signs that something was wrong. All in all, the staff was only okay, and I was not impressed with the doctor. He was nice enough but not very personable nor did he seem very compassionate. It's a tough line of work I understand, but I am someone who needs to know and feel like my vet really cares for the well being of my fur baby.Read Less

This is a good clinic. They could be better.Up until recently, Dr. H was good about working with me when I had a special request. However, she would not help me when I didn't want to bring my very sick (and very frightened of the vet) dog in for euthanization and didn't refer me to the service out of Argyle that does that sort or thing. I had to take care of things on my own. After 16 years of taking my dog to her, she let us down.She also didn't trust me about how often I give my dogs their heart-worm meds. If I don't want to pay for the blood test, then I am responsible for what happens to my dog after I give him the meds. Not her. Read Less
