My cat isn't an easy cat to deal with. He's an anxious ball of fluff who hates the vet. The staff at kingsgate are so great with him though, I've seen the same 3 vet techs there in the year span I've been going here and they always remember my cat. The veterinarian is one of the most kind veterinarians I've ever been to, I'm from Houston so I've had issues finding a good vet up here but this vet definitely meets my extremely high semi unreasonable standards. My cat got sick and we couldn't figure out what was wrong with him so the vet went above and beyond to get him better and set us up with a treatment plan to keep him happy and healthy, now almost a year later, I have my playful happy go lucky cat back. This is the vet you should go to if you want someone who doesn't just think of a pet as property and sees them for what they are to you, a member of your family. I'm eternally grateful to this amazing staff and I'll be heartbroken when I eventually move out of Lubbock and can no longer use this vet. Read Less

Dr. Whittenburg is an absolutely amazing veterinarian. I have three large dogs. She is very thoughtful, examines them closely and efficiently each time. She also explains each thing through and makes sure that it's understood. Her prices are also more reasonable then most vets in town and her care does not lower because of it. Chase, her staff member is the sweetest and he can really calm my dogs down even when I can't. Some of the other staff isn't the friendliest but I'm not there everyday so it could just mean a bad day. I do wish that she had a small room for dog aggressive dogs but that's nothing to fault her with. I recommend her to all of my friends and family!Dr. Whittenburg is a five star vet with a five star Chase and a clean office with plenty of exam rooms. She also offers boarding and a GREAT price! I've taken multiple pets here for their shots and recently took my puppy to get neutered and they did a great job. We had a few problems with my dog messing with his incision and it became infected, I called once I noticed it and the vet set up an appointment immediately. They are all very sweet and show affection to the animals. I highly recommend this vet for all your pet needs! Read Less

This vet clinic is the best I have found, probably anywhere! We have been with them for 2 years now and have always had fantastic experiences. The staff here cares about our furry family members as much as we do, so when we board our dogs I know I never have to worry about them. They stay on top of our health records, have sent us sweet cards in the mail, and made saying goodbye to our sweet dog PJ as comfortable of an experience as it ever could have been. They have been there through both laughs and tears and I honestly could never even consider transferring care anywhere else! I cannot say enough wonderful things. I originally visited Kingsgate animal hospital because of their reasonable prices for nail trims, but since they've provided great service on annual vaccines and when our cat needed antibiotics. Most recently, I brought my large dog in & had my infant in her carrier- my hands were full!, the tech helped hold my pup while I paid & even walked him out to the car for me. We decided to finally switch vets after a certain Lubbock vet clinic we had gone to since our dogs were puppies, constantly made us feel stupid for ever asking questions and started using very backhanded comments with every reply to our questions (one vet assistant in particular was just downright rude and overstepped bounds many times). One of our dogs has severe back issues, and we have been very pleased with the concern and care he has received here. I have 4 dogs and would never think of taking them anywhere other than to Dr. Whittenburg at Kingsgate Animal Hospital. Jamie and her staff have always been so kind and compassionate with my 4 legged babies. I love how they give me options, when available, with different procedures or medications and don't automatically do the most expensive option possible. The care and attention they give to each of my kiddos is unsurpassed and I never worry or think twice when I leave them in their hands. Dr. Whittenburg is so great to follow up immediately after a procedure to fill me in on the outcomes and what needs to be done next, if any. I always feel in the loop and I appreciate that, since they are dealing with my babies.
