I will leave plenty for these to make sure people with big hearts and love for their small animals are taken care of the proper way. Long story short my little chihuahua was attacked by another dog and in major paIn, he needed X-rays and medication. For one the receptionist and the one doing the X-rays was rude and being rough with my dog who had a broken rib and fractured neck. If held properly, like I said to begin, would have been avoided but I could hear my dog cry from the waiting area...Then moment of truth came with the payments. A total of 500 dollars was totaled to me. 2 medications that were not even what my poor dog needed with a suppository and a catheter to help him pee and poop plus the 90 exam fee... Before I could even mutter the words if there was “payment plans” the ride receptionist cut me off and said No 3 times and shook her head... I couldn’t even finish my sentence. So I forked over 300+ dollars the cost. Come to found out my dog actually used the bathroom on himself while at the visit and left in a kennel, still was charged for a suppository and catheter that wasn’t needed and also a referral to Key Animal Clinic. Key’s primary doctor is currently on vacation and I then went to ACRES NORTH who are WONDERFUL and I DEFINITELY RECCOMEND. I FOUND OUT NOT ONLY ALL THE INFO I TYPED ABOUT THE CATHETER AND SUPPOSITORY BUT THE WRONG MEDICATION WAS GIVEN TO MY DOG NOT EVEN TO HELP CORRECTLY WITH HIS PAIN!!! ALSO WAS GIVEN A MUCH BETTER TOTAL FOR NOT ONLY 1 but THREE OTHER NEEDED MEDS FOR ONLY 115!!! Laser surgery is also needed for my pet which I could have covered if I didn’t have a stupid outrageous 300 dollar bill for NOTHING! So save your time go to this place for emergencies after hours but the real people are at ACRES NORTH. Cheap and affordable with PAYMENT PLANS AVAILABLE. Read Less

AVOID THE HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE ,the staff truly lacks empathy, we went in sunday my buddy was not normal ,low energy, his belly was a little bigger than usual,my first impression of the receptionist is that she hates her job,,she didnt even look at our face or greet us, just said 'fill this out' they did a complete blood work, took his temp, and said it was cushings or an infection ,after 3 hours he recommended we leave him over night for an iv and antibiotics,to help him, by morning & $438.later,we picked him up in the morning, we'er recommended to take him to another vet,,they forgot to remove his iv needle,i called him back & he said bring him back,,i was there 12min. later and the office was closed a tech was walking up & she said I;m not removing it ,we'er closed, very rude!!,.I took him to Dr. Taylor that day and in 15min. 1 xray & felt his belly said its liver cancer,& helped me feel the tumors he had our buddy went to sleep peacefully in our arms. Had i known this i would have brought him home one more night then taken him to Dr. Taylors. So this vet is either not good @ his job or took advantage of our fears either way it makes him not a good vet,,,,my buddy only had a couple of days left,& he couldnt see this?! This place makes a bad situation worse,,they lack empathy, that receptionist attitude is unacceptable,, There is no need for that.If you need emercency care for a little buddy look for another place ,,,I certainly will not go back... One of the worst experiences ever. Receptionist was the rudest ever. My dog had a puppy sticking out and they were insisting I pay up front and fill out paper work. Very inconsiderate of our feelings. $1600 is what these floozies charged me.. i got a phone call that i had 6 healthy puppies..Then i got a call an hour later that my entire litter had died. I will never use them again. I was told by my vet that I should have reported them(stinky 2 women) considering the way we were being treated. I decided to write a review instead. My dog had a seizure on Sunday night and we didn't know why he's never had anything like this before. They were able to determine he had a tick disease confirmed by lab work. He got sick 3 months ago and got better but apparently that was when he got the disease and he never fully got over it and it laid dormant until we changed our dogs diets on Friday and I guess that triggered this horrific seizure my puppy was experiencing. He stretched his neck and head up but continued to stretch and basically rolled over tightening every muscle in his body for what seemed like eternity while we were figuring out what is going on and why. He didn't stop this so I put him in truck and went to the clinic. I am very pleased with the service we received and they charged $390 for all the lab work, office/emergency vist and 3 different medications , 2 antibiotics and 1steroid. I could not ask for a more fair rate than that. You keep your business open during hours of "little or no profitability" but you choose to not gouge people who find themselves in a very scary and tumultuous chain of events. For that I am truly grateful and wish you and all who work for and at Small Animal Emergency Clinic all the happiness and joy a heart can contain. Thank you so much for being there when my dog needed you the most. Read Less

Nothing about this place would make me want to come back. Was forced to bring my dog in at about 11:30 for an emergency. The girl behind the desk at the front was very unpleasant. While trying to get my dog on the scale, she revealed the rear side of her that I cared not to see. I went in and within about 5 total minutes they sent me on my way with little to no reassurance my dog would be ok. Basically told me "they can't talk to us, so we really don't know". Hmm, not quite the answer you look for when take a dog to a veterinarian. Basically overall, I would only bring my dog here again if every other vet within 100 miles was closed and my dog was about to die. Other than that, you'll probably waste your money. Also she gave me some nausea medication as she said just in case, even though my dog was not vomiting at all and hadn't done so in over 12 hours. I assumed that the way she gave them to me, that they were just a sample and free. No they charged me 30 dollars for the box and never used them. As you probably know, there are no returns on medication. I should've made sure the bill was right but I was pretty distraught with having a very sick pup. Make sure you're getting the meds you need not just something to tack on and make the bill bigger. Plus the place is just nasty. I get vet clinics deal with animals but I mean there was enough dog hair on the floor to give my bald grandpa a new "do". Girl behind the desk could've been sweeping that up instead of doing nothing which is I'm sure what she did the rest of the night. She almost hit me in the buttocks with the door when I walked out, to lock it and turn off the lights. I'd pay more to go somewhere else. Just my experience..... Read Less

I live in San Francisco, and within hours of landing in Lubbock for the holiday I noticed that my fur baby was not okay and I needed to seek emergency care. It was 3am on xmas eve and I called every vet clinic in Lubbock until I found one that was open. The doctor on staff was Becca Bridge. I must admit that I was afraid at this time on a holiday that I would get a C-rated care provider. This vet was phenomenal! She and her assistant cared for my baby with compassion and great attention. She was knowledgeable and very warm. To be honest, I wish Becca was in SF. I'd like to have her as Lexi's primary care provider - she was that great. :) Thank you so much! Read Less

Absolutely Amazing Our dire situation had us arriving at the clinch around 10:30 on a Monday night. Our Daisy had complications that were very unusual this particular night and we knew the end might be nearer than we wanted it to be. We arrived and I wasn't sure what to expect since I had never done this before. Daisy was disoriented and could not move on her own. My husband was recovering from shoulder surgery and couldn't help get her out of the car. To my surprise Dr. Farley himself assisted in getting Daisy into the clinic. He was very gentle and complete in his evaluation and laid out our options. Needless to say we had to make an uncomfortable decision and he guided us through it the whole way. He allowed us to take our time saying goodbye and couldn't have been more patient or caring. He gave us all the options available and took care of it for us. What a wonderful place to be available for such a complicated decision. We are grateful.Read Less

My small dog was not herself all day she started throwing up and we followed her outside and her waste was bloody. I called the clinic and the receptionist was kind and helpful, she asked if we could wait about 30 minutes because the vet was in a surgery. We made it to the clinic a little after 10 and the receptionist was waiting for us. The doctor was finishing up the surgery while we were settling in to our room. We could hear him talk to the owners of the dog that just had the emergency surgery, he was kind and reassuring. He examined our dog, Lucky and treated her calming and reassuring both her and the three of us. Lucky is much better and very happy they were there for us when we needed this place. I would like to say to the person that was upset because no one answered the phone. This is a small place, and a skeleton crew for an overnight shift. You might have to wait if you go there but what you see and hear may impress you. Read Less

We took our 16 year old cat there for breathing broblems. It was about 1030pm, we were seen right away, and even did the paper work in the examination room. Everyone was very nice and gave her the help she needed. We were told to see her regular vet on Monday. Until then, she is much more comfortable because of the medication and care she received. Do your family pets a favor and stay away from here for surgeries. SHE SUCKED. Read Less

Read Less
