If I could give no stars, I would. I have been to Country Club Pet Hospital two times. It is very conveniently located for me, and I have not found a new vet since I moved to Mansfield so I gave Country Club Pet Hospital a try.
I was more or less satisfied with my first visit, in which I saw Dr. Kendrick because my cat completely ripped off one of his claws. I feel like he was knowledgeable, and his approach was conservative (which I prefer) and he told me that the healing had already begun and to just watch it. He also gave me unsolicited advice on feeding, and was somewhat pushy about it. I brushed it off as his being passionate about animal health and not possessing the best/most diplomatic people skills, but my overall experience still left me a bit unsettled. Nothing to bother writing a review over on its own.
My second visit was for 1 year vaccinations for one of my kittens, and a vaccination for my puppy. While I am fully vaccinating my puppy on a timetable that matches the standard recommendations for such, I was verbally assaulted at length by Vet Tech Jennifer. She insulted me, my puppy's extremely knowledgeable and involved breeder, because I did not want the standard combined vaccination products they push. PLEASE NOTE: MY DOG WILL BE FULLY VACCINATED - I was beat up over the way in which I wanted this accomplished. She accused me of endangering my dog (Completely ridiculous. Seriously. This pampered and protected dog has it better than most people's kids) and demonstrated no respect for me, along with no knowledge or willingness to learn about giant breeds.
After that drama (I didn't mention that this was all happening with my 9 year old daughter in the room as well...seriously, who yells at someone and accuses them of endangering a puppy in front of a child?) the other Vet (Dr. Neece) came in and continued attempting to push combo vaccinations along with and injectable heartworm/tick/flea combo drug that I was also uninterested in (they had to scrounge to come up with an edible heartworm preventative, and we had already applied Frontline Plus to him a week prior). To top it off, she dismissed an OBVIOUS staph infection as perhaps being healing scabs/bumps leftover from being bitten by littermates (seriously...even though I pointed out that the rash with the raised, pus-filled bumps did not appear until over a week after we got him home, and the fact that my puppy came from an amazing breeder who takes amazing care of all of her dogs and operates with COMPLETE transparency and amazing amounts of support for the life of the dog) and offered absolutely nothing other than that it would be harmless to try washing him with an antibacterial shampoo (which I had already been doing, it wasn't working).
This was far and away the worst vet visit I have ever had in my life. I drove over an hour to get back to our old vet for our puppy's next vaccination appointment (during which he prescribed antibiotics for the staph infection we had been unsuccessfully attempting to treat at home for 6 weeks at that point)...and it was completely worth it.
To top everything off, Country Club was more expensive than my old vet, and we got an additional prescription and a bag of greenies pill pockets in addition to the exact same vaccine that we got at Country Club. Expensive, disrespectful, ignorant, and they push a single line of combo drugs/vaccines. I will never be back, regardless of how conveniently located they are. Read Less
