This place will kill your dog. I'm currently looking for a good attorney to get this place shut down. My Boston terrier went in healthy, they gave her a vaccine known for killing dogs, and now I am paying hundreds of dollars to try to get her fixed as much as possible. This place is a death trap, I will never recommend these guys to my worst enemy!! I can't believe this AND they are claiming no responsibility. The best care my 4 kitties have ever received. I have been going here for years, and a few dr's have come and gone, as happens over the years...but every Vet I get is better than the last mazing Vet. Dr. Hodson is fantastic. He has taken such good care of my terminally ill kitty. Not only has she far surpassed her life expectance, but she is comfortable and happy and doing so well. The staff is caring and provides great service. Leigh, Alyssa, Anita, oh my gosh I know I am forgetting others..But they are all kind to my fur babies, professional to me, and really care about what they do. As long as I live within a 4 hour radius of Mckinney, I will go here..if I ever move farther than that..who knows, I might still drive the distance :) Read Less

I am giving them one star because there is no option for zero stars! I made my appointment a week out. We live 30 minutes away so we arrived about 20 minutes early. We were told that they wouldn't even check us in because we were early. Then the Vet poked his head out of a room looking very frazzled and told the receptionist to tell the person on the phone that he was busy and would call them back later.The receptionist told us to come back in twenty minutes at our exact check in time and left! Honestly, I don't want someone that is that easily frazzled to touch my dog, and if that receptionist went to a Doctor's office and they told her the same thing then she'd leave too and never return. I first took my cat to the banfield in wylie and they were great. Everyone was very nice, knowledgeable, and treated my cat well. He is a pretty calm cat. We moved and I took him to banfield in McKinney on 75 and it was a completely different environment. We took the cat into the exam room and spoke about him. They asked me to take him out and I did. He was very calm and stayed where he was on the table. For some reason, the vet tech grabbed him by his neck and pinned his head to the table. His butt was in the air and side of his face was pressed hard to the steel table. All I was doing was talking to the doctor and the cat was just being very chill in front of me. There was no need for her to hold him down like that just while we talked...or at all. He peed on the table, which usually he is fine at the vet. I feel so terrible about making him go because they treated him so wrong. He got his claws trimmed and we got out of there. He never did anything threatening. I will NOT go back. Ridiculous place. I took my 12-year old dog there. From what I'd found on the internet, I was fairly sure that he had a yeast infection as a result of a flea allergy reaction, due to the appearance that matched the pics on the internet and the description of the smell as like "fritos." The vet had an accent (not sure if it was Chinese, Vietnamese, etc.) that made it difficult to understand her. She said she would not make any diagnosis without running over $400 worth of tests, and this didn't include the $50 office visit. She absolutely would not venture an opinion on what it could be, but finally said that mite tests often come up positive and she thought that he might have them in his ears. So we got a mite test - it was negative. The assistant and the vet just stand in the room staring at you, looking disappointed that you won't spend $400 on tests for your dog, and once it becomes clear you really aren't going to do that - they get very short with you and won't make eye contact. The whole thing just felt like a hustle. So, I went to another vet recommended by a friend. I told him about my previous experience at Banfield. That doctor took one look at my dog and said, "Any vet in the first year of med school would be able to recognize this as a flea allergy and a yeast infection." He gave him a shot of antibiotics, a prescription for more antibiotics, and a yeast-treating shampoo, and a flea preventative. The entire office visit including those medications ran me $150 and my dog started getting better immediately. Don't go to Banfield.Read Less

I had an appointment for my dog at 6:15. I got there at 6:20, and stood there for about a minute and a half to two minutes while the front desk girl talked to other people. They then told me I would have to reschedule my appointment because the doctor was behind. So they weren't accepting anybody who was more than five minutes late. I was exactly 5 minutes late. Yes, I should've been there right on time, but I've never been turned away from an appointment being five minutes late before. And no offense, but it's not my problem the doctor is behind. And apparently they don't always have two doctors there, so it's really hard to get an appointment. I had actually made this appointment a week ago. Ridiculous. Read Less

Good location for one stop shopping for your pet. Services provided are caring and you feel confident with the vet and the banfield team. One negative is the up selling of many things and prices that tend to be a bit higher than other vets. But you are paying for convenience and the long hours they are open. We will continue to use them because we also get our dog groomed in the same store. Read Less

Dr. Campbell is hands down the BEST vet we have ever used, and we have no intention of ever using anyone else. He performed surgery on my puggle to fix his cherry eye, and went above and beyond out expectations. He spent the days before the surgery doing research and gathering information just to make sure he did everything perfectly even though he'd done the surgery several times before. He called us before the surgery began and as soon as it finished, and kept us updated on everything. When I went to go pick him up, he sat down with my husband and I and took the time to answer all of our questions and make sure Batman (our puggle) was good to go before they discharged him. When Batman had an allergic reaction to the medicine he was given, Dr. Campbell made time for us to come in the same day so he could personally check on him and make sure he was alright. This vet truly cares about the animals he treats, and took every possible measure to not only take care of our beloved pet, but to make sure we felt happy and reassured as well. I'm so disappointed to see a negative review for Banfield, ANY Banfield. I have had my three dogs on Banfield for four years in the Dallas area and at one time they were down at the Dallas location on Greenville and when we bought our house we moved them up this location in McKinney.Medical care for animals is expensive JUST like it is for humans. Imagine going to a hospital without insurance? It would be expensive! Banfield does a lot to help people deal with the cost of taking care of their pets and the biggest way to do that is the Banfield plan. Just like you pay monthly for health insurance you can do the same thing for your dogs and get free annual dental cleanings, free check ups, free annual vaccines, discounts on medications and heartworm pills. It's the best thing you can do for your pet in the world and the staff at this location is wonderful. My pets are not afraid to be here and they leave happy and comfortable, not stressed out, which says a LOT about the staff at a vets office. Even my nervous little dog leaves happy and comfortable, sometimes I've even seen them carrying him around because they just sincerely like and care for animals and know it makes him feel better.Honestly, I'd be happy to talk to anyone who has questions about this place, drop me a message. Too bad you must give a star. If you take your pet here you are as dumb as I was on the day I went to get vaccines for my 2 dogs. After all is said and done I will have paid $900 for vaccines.
