In 2021, was given a vial for a fecal sample and was charged for the parasite test. I brought the sample back in with my animal's annual in 2022. I was given a vial again for the next parasite test and charged $47.03 with no timeline of when I was to bring in the sample. I brought the sample in today with my animal's annual and was charged again, this time $51.37. I was told the vials "expire" in 6 months so they have to charge me and that they are now following their "rules" (but not following them before?). I was never told the "rules" and the vet in 2022 is no longer working there. They will not refund me for the test now. So I have paid for 3 tests but only 2 have been run on my animal. If they don't go over the supposed rules, how are we supposed to follow them?! I'm starting to wonder if they are another money grabbing vet office.

I can't respond then less than a 3 but I want to. I'm afraid my response would be more emotional than not though. They've always been friendly and helpful when we've gone in which is why I can't go below the 3. What I'm upset about is that I called with an emergency concern and wanted to know what to do. It was towards the end of the day and they got me right in. After running a bunch of tests, they told me that I probably should admit my dog to the hospital to be treated overnight. They asked me to pay my bill and wait for them to put together all of the tests so I didn't have to pay again, etc... So here's my issue. My dog died between the vet and the animal hospital while I was in traffic and my daughter was screaming in the backseat after she climbed over to the seat to hold my dog when she losing her balance before convulsing and dying. They didn't even refer me to the closest hospital because the closest was not known for being friendly. I went to them because they had my dogs medical history, they were her doctor. I wish when I called they would have said "it's the end of the day and we can't handle emergencies you would be best to take your dog to the animal hospital" but they didn't. They asked me if I could come right in. They didn't ask questions to see how serious, etc... So we went in. They ran tests. This is the next failure in my opinion. When the the tests came back I wish they would have said "she's more urgent that we thought, I'd take her to the animal hospital now, we'll call them and fax the information and you can pay up tomorrow" but instead they took 30 minutes walking through every test, then they wanted to take another test to confirm a suspicion and then went through and showed me everything they checked and what they thought. She said "what she has is treatable but she may need a transfusion, go ahead and go pay, I'll meet you at the desk but don't leave until I can call the hospital and give them the background and give you the records". The final failure was having me stand at the desk and wait for records and to pay and for the vet to call the other hospital. There was no urgency. So while it is possible that my dog would have died anyway, obviously she was sicker than anyone expected, my friend who is a doctor said that looking at her blood results, they should have sent us immediately. If we would have went to the animal hospital right away, she might have had a chance. If you know that you close in an hour and won't have anyone on staff to take care of the dogs after that time or you don't have the facility to take care of an emergency, you should have sent us to the animal hospital when we called. What resulted was a very tramatic experience for me and my daughter and the loss of a beloved pet. It's taken me 4 weeks to write this because of how devastated we are. I just ask that MeadowBrook look into making some changes in how they handle emergencies. I do think they are a good vet for physicals and check ups but in hindsight I should have just went straight to the hospital. Unfortunately we have to change vets. I couldn't walk in there if I wanted to but I think if they make a few adjustments to how they handle emergencies, they could still be a good place to take your pets.

Vetenarians and vet techs are wonderful! We have used Dr. Sue, Dr. Mari, and Dr. Emily they are all very knowledgeable and will do what is best for your animals. They know our family by name and need and are great about calling to check in about each of our fur babies. On the weekends be prepared to wait some time as they are very busy but during the week usually you are in and out.

relieve his pain. We were so impressed with the care given to our pet that we have never left. We normally see Dr Emily ( love her ) but have seen other vets as well. Everyone there is great with animals which is what you want for your pets

We have been taking our dogs to Meadow Brook in McKinney since we moved here in 2017. They have been wonderful to us and our babies. We did lose our little Tebow last February. During the months before he died, Dr. Mari and all the other doctors and staff, worked tirelessly to figure out what was wrong with him. We take our Toby there for grooming, boarding and medical. We never worry about him while he is there.
I would recommend Meadow Brook Animal Hospital to anyone who asks.

Great place! Im not familiar with vets, but this place is not only beautiful but friendly! The first visit was complimentary, which was a great benefit! Cant tell you how much i appreciated that. I made my appointment and it took a bit long for the vet to see me (even though i arrived 20 minutes early). However the vet was incredibly kind and offered estimates as well as lots of advice. I didn't feel pressured into any high priced procedures or medicines. The prices were standard and actually much cheaper than i expected. I went in with my bearded dragon too, it was the only place in the immediate area whom could care for one but i will definitely recommend it to anyone whos searching for a vet. They even gave me a small thing of treats for my cat back home! How sweet! (Except i completely forgot to take them) id say the only place id see for improvement is the wait time. I felt like i was sitting there way too long. Other than that, flawless and above expectations! I will recommend to friends!

I took my newly adopted dog to this clinic for a "complimentary" visit. I brought her adoption vaccination records to my scheduled appointment on July 12. I was not informed of any pending charges prior to checking out. In fact, I was charged for the same vacinnations that she already received. I was told that they could not be sure on the number of vials that the dog was giving previously even though the paperwork I provided showed the stickers from the vaccinations along with the dates. They should not have charged me for vaccinations that she did not need. I asked them for a refund and they declined.

Way to run your business and make a lasting impression on new patients. I won't be recommending this business to anyone who is interested in pet care. Go somewhere else. This place is old and smells. They completely ignore you. I dont usually write reviews but felt it was in everyone's best interest to know that you won't get quality service here if they don't even treat new patients well. What makes you ever want to come back? Note to the vets that own this place. Consider having someone there to at least acknowledge people with appointments. I was told there were walk ins is why MY APPOINTMENT was pushed back and left me waiting. Sounds like a good way to lose customers.

Several months ago, I brought my very senior cat Simba in to see Dr.Lauren at Preston Road Animal Hospital. I was a hot mess because Simba is my fur baby of 17 years and he had lost a ton of weight and I felt I waited too long because I was unemployed and just finished my own cancer fight. Dr. Lauren took the time to gently examine him along with Richard. They were both so kind and gentle with him. Dr. Lauren took her valuable time to explain to me exactly what was going on with him as well as shared her story about the same diagnosis with her fur baby. I stopped crying and listened intently as the program we were going to undertake to make simba comfortable while treating his kidney disease. In the several months since his diagnosis, Dr. Lauren has been phenomenal in reaching out and discussing any concerns and next steps. I am always made to feel warm and welcome whenever Simba and I visit and Simba loves all of the kisses he gets when he is passed around from Richard,Jennifer, Ashley, Amber, Heather et al. I was taught how to give Simba his iv by myself and was told they were there if I couldn't do it. Simba usually doesn't like going to the vet and he roars about it. He has a white coat phobia. In the last visits... Dr. Lauren has come in without her coat because she knows this. Who does this? So to wrap it up... I'm so appreciative and thankful to have found this group of individuals at Preston Road. I have stressed to all my pet loving friends to take their fur babies here. THANK YOU!! Donna and Simba

We have been patients of Chastain Veterinary for two years and cannot imagine our furr babies under the care of anyone else. We have had the privilege of working with Dr. Sue on a few occasions and we absolutely love her, I feel confident that she cares for our dogs as if they were her own! We have also had numerous positive experiences with all the doctors and staff at both the Mckinney and Preston locations, Chastain goes above and beyond in all areas of practice. They are wonderful with patient correspondence we leave every appointment feeling well informed, the doctors take their time during visits to answer all of your questions/concerns, and will help you choose the best options for your pet. You get outstanding personalized care we never feel rushed like just another number, or that we are recieving subpar patient care like we did in the past at big chain veterinary clinics. All of the Chastain group are so welcoming and compassionate, I have watched them great each pet by name as they come through the door. My advice to anyone needing veterinarian care for their pets is to look no further!

Meadow Brook Animal Hospital is great. All of the staff love animals and it shows. They treat all the animals with love and the owners with respect. They provide great care for my dogs. I had an older dog who was a bit stubborn about taking pills. They worked with me to find medicines I could give him. They offer free mid year check ups to make sure your pet is healthy. They also have weekend and evening hours. I think the prices are reasonable.

This office is a 30 minute drive for me, but was recommended by a friend so I decided to take my cats there. At first, I was happy with them, but not anymore. I have encountered very rude personnel over the person. I requested a prescription be mailed to me and when it was, it was for the incorrect amount. When I requested a corrected prescription be mailed to me, I was told the vet would have to call me. That was yesterday. I am still waiting for that call. Update 7/9: I spoke with the office manager today and feel confident my issues will be resolved. I also received an apology for the rude staff member I spoke to on the phone. I have changed my review to 3 stars since the office very quickly contacted me.

We moved here from Los Angeles and had to find a vet for our two cats. Being new to the area and not knowing anyone, we had very little to go on. We wanted to try them out first as they were super close to where we lived. We absolutely love them! One of our cats becomes "possessed" when she gets to any vet, yet the staff here are able to deal with her pretty effectively. Our other cat is pretty shy, yet she really likes them.
We have been going to them for almost two years now and wouldn't even dream of going anywhere else.

I've been going to Meadowbrook long before the Chastain's. My then puppy is now 11. I nearly lost him last year and the outcome looked grim. Dr. Melanie and the staff showed such compassion and the care he had allowed him to recover. Each one of my animals have seen her in the last year and each is treated with loving hands. I can't imagine having to take them somewhere else. Great people all around.

I have a staffordshire terrier, and have always been hesitant about taking him to vets and boarding him because of negativity surrounding his breed, so I tried Meadowbrook and was highly impressed. Everyone there was so nice and welcoming. They didn't have reservations about my dog at all, and their prices are great too! I also boarded him there and he was very well taken care of. I had never been to a vet./ boarding place that is so awesome! I highly recommend them to anyone.

Vetenarians and vet techs are wonderful! We have used Dr. Sue, Dr. Mari, and Dr. Emily they are all very knowledgeable and will do what is best for your animals. They know our family by name and need and are great about calling to check in about each of our fur babies. On the weekends be prepared to wait some time as they are very busy but during the week usually you are in and out.

relieve his pain. We were so impressed with the care given to our pet that we have never left. We normally see Dr Emily ( love her ) but have seen other vets as well. Everyone there is great with animals which is what you want for your pets

We have been taking our dogs to Meadow Brook in McKinney since we moved here in 2017. They have been wonderful to us and our babies. We did lose our little Tebow last February. During the months before he died, Dr. Mari and all the other doctors and staff, worked tirelessly to figure out what was wrong with him. We take our Toby there for grooming, boarding and medical. We never worry about him while he is there.
I would recommend Meadow Brook Animal Hospital to anyone who asks.

Great place! Im not familiar with vets, but this place is not only beautiful but friendly! The first visit was complimentary, which was a great benefit! Cant tell you how much i appreciated that. I made my appointment and it took a bit long for the vet to see me (even though i arrived 20 minutes early). However the vet was incredibly kind and offered estimates as well as lots of advice. I didn't feel pressured into any high priced procedures or medicines. The prices were standard and actually much cheaper than i expected. I went in with my bearded dragon too, it was the only place in the immediate area whom could care for one but i will definitely recommend it to anyone whos searching for a vet. They even gave me a small thing of treats for my cat back home! How sweet! (Except i completely forgot to take them) id say the only place id see for improvement is the wait time. I felt like i was sitting there way too long. Other than that, flawless and above expectations! I will recommend to friends!

The staff at Preston Road Animal Hospital do a fantastic job and are professional and courteous in meeting the needs of the animals and pet parents. I have been taking my dog there for 3 years.

I took my newly adopted dog to this clinic for a "complimentary" visit. I brought her adoption vaccination records to my scheduled appointment on July 12. I was not informed of any pending charges prior to checking out. In fact, I was charged for the same vacinnations that she already received. I was told that they could not be sure on the number of vials that the dog was giving previously even though the paperwork I provided showed the stickers from the vaccinations along with the dates. They should not have charged me for vaccinations that she did not need. I asked them for a refund and they declined.

Way to run your business and make a lasting impression on new patients. I won't be recommending this business to anyone who is interested in pet care. Go somewhere else. This place is old and smells. They completely ignore you. I dont usually write reviews but felt it was in everyone's best interest to know that you won't get quality service here if they don't even treat new patients well. What makes you ever want to come back? Note to the vets that own this place. Consider having someone there to at least acknowledge people with appointments. I was told there were walk ins is why MY APPOINTMENT was pushed back and left me waiting. Sounds like a good way to lose customers.

Several months ago, I brought my very senior cat Simba in to see Dr.Lauren at Preston Road Animal Hospital. I was a hot mess because Simba is my fur baby of 17 years and he had lost a ton of weight and I felt I waited too long because I was unemployed and just finished my own cancer fight. Dr. Lauren took the time to gently examine him along with Richard. They were both so kind and gentle with him. Dr. Lauren took her valuable time to explain to me exactly what was going on with him as well as shared her story about the same diagnosis with her fur baby. I stopped crying and listened intently as the program we were going to undertake to make simba comfortable while treating his kidney disease. In the several months since his diagnosis, Dr. Lauren has been phenomenal in reaching out and discussing any concerns and next steps. I am always made to feel warm and welcome whenever Simba and I visit and Simba loves all of the kisses he gets when he is passed around from Richard,Jennifer, Ashley, Amber, Heather et al. I was taught how to give Simba his iv by myself and was told they were there if I couldn't do it. Simba usually doesn't like going to the vet and he roars about it. He has a white coat phobia. In the last visits... Dr. Lauren has come in without her coat because she knows this. Who does this? So to wrap it up... I'm so appreciative and thankful to have found this group of individuals at Preston Road. I have stressed to all my pet loving friends to take their fur babies here. THANK YOU!! Donna and Simba

We have been patients of Chastain Veterinary for two years and cannot imagine our furr babies under the care of anyone else. We have had the privilege of working with Dr. Sue on a few occasions and we absolutely love her, I feel confident that she cares for our dogs as if they were her own! We have also had numerous positive experiences with all the doctors and staff at both the Mckinney and Preston locations, Chastain goes above and beyond in all areas of practice. They are wonderful with patient correspondence we leave every appointment feeling well informed, the doctors take their time during visits to answer all of your questions/concerns, and will help you choose the best options for your pet. You get outstanding personalized care we never feel rushed like just another number, or that we are recieving subpar patient care like we did in the past at big chain veterinary clinics. All of the Chastain group are so welcoming and compassionate, I have watched them great each pet by name as they come through the door. My advice to anyone needing veterinarian care for their pets is to look no further!

Meadow Brook Animal Hospital is great. All of the staff love animals and it shows. They treat all the animals with love and the owners with respect. They provide great care for my dogs. I had an older dog who was a bit stubborn about taking pills. They worked with me to find medicines I could give him. They offer free mid year check ups to make sure your pet is healthy. They also have weekend and evening hours. I think the prices are reasonable.

This office is a 30 minute drive for me, but was recommended by a friend so I decided to take my cats there. At first, I was happy with them, but not anymore. I have encountered very rude personnel over the person. I requested a prescription be mailed to me and when it was, it was for the incorrect amount. When I requested a corrected prescription be mailed to me, I was told the vet would have to call me. That was yesterday. I am still waiting for that call. Update 7/9: I spoke with the office manager today and feel confident my issues will be resolved. I also received an apology for the rude staff member I spoke to on the phone. I have changed my review to 3 stars since the office very quickly contacted me.

We moved here from Los Angeles and had to find a vet for our two cats. Being new to the area and not knowing anyone, we had very little to go on. We wanted to try them out first as they were super close to where we lived. We absolutely love them! One of our cats becomes "possessed" when she gets to any vet, yet the staff here are able to deal with her pretty effectively. Our other cat is pretty shy, yet she really likes them.
We have been going to them for almost two years now and wouldn't even dream of going anywhere else.

I've been going to Meadowbrook long before the Chastain's. My then puppy is now 11. I nearly lost him last year and the outcome looked grim. Dr. Melanie and the staff showed such compassion and the care he had allowed him to recover. Each one of my animals have seen her in the last year and each is treated with loving hands. I can't imagine having to take them somewhere else. Great people all around.

I have a staffordshire terrier, and have always been hesitant about taking him to vets and boarding him because of negativity surrounding his breed, so I tried Meadowbrook and was highly impressed. Everyone there was so nice and welcoming. They didn't have reservations about my dog at all, and their prices are great too! I also boarded him there and he was very well taken care of. I had never been to a vet./ boarding place that is so awesome! I highly recommend them to anyone.
