After being told by my vet in Austin that my dog would need a $200 test or he may die, I was freaking out. I'm a college student, I wouldn't have a dog if I hadn't found him on the side of the road, and after his previous bills added up to almost $2,000 (initial puppy care + giardia hospitalization) my credit card was tired and I really couldn't afford the test.My mom recommended I bring my dog up to Dr. King for a second opinion... I am SO glad that she did. Keller will now be driving 4 hours to see his vet (except in emergencies) and will be getting the best care possible. While the visit in total added up to about the same amount of money as the test fee, the solution was much more bearable. If he had the test done in Austin, it would've come back negative as he doesn't have that disease, in which case the next step was to cut him open and biopsy him... Dr. King listened to his symptoms, evaluated his health and energy level and... SWITCHED HIS FOOD. He'd been switched around a lot because he ate one brand, we were told he was allergic so we switched until he liked one, but he has chronic colitis and has to be on prescription food plus a probiotic and he is fine now. He has more energy than ever before and is doing great.Plus when they take your pup back to get their temperature and blood, they come back to you with a little bandana, how cute is that? I am so glad to have found Virginia Parkway Pet Hospital and Dr. King. Read Less
