We've used this clinic a few times because they're down the street and have regretted it every time. My wife has worked in vets for several years and I had to beg her not to post HER review.. today our issue was calling because one of our cats popped a kitten 24 hours ago and hasn't had another. We call and the receptionist tells us that our cat's going to die but she can't tell us what it'll cost to bring her in. After several minutes of trying to get a price and sitting on hold we gave up and went to our main vet in Odessa. I cant stress enough, find another vet. Read Less

Dr. Hartzoge and Dr Lee are knowledgeable and pretty dang awesome. We work with a rescue group and had a puppy returned to us by a former foster because he was sick. Turns out the little guy had Parvo! Dr Hartzoge and Dr Lee cured him and he's a healthy and happy 90 lb pooch now! And yeah, we ended up keeping him AND his brother. We take ALL of our pets to Town and Country. They rock!!! Read Less

I have been bringing my dachshund to this clinic for less than a year. I have met with Dr. Hartzog at least 3 times for her back issues. We brought her in a couple or so months ago for an x-ray and to see what could be done. We were told she had a calcium deposit on her spine and would need to be on Methocarbonal and Prednisone for about two weeks. We scheduled her for a check-up. Everything went well with the check-up as far as her recovery was going and we were given an antiinflammatory. I asked Dr. Hartzog THREE times within the visit if I needed to refill the antiinflammatory once it ran out after the 30-day dosage. I was told specifically "No. Just bring her back in for some blood work in three months." I thought this was odd, which is why I asked three different times - each time being told the same thing. I thought it had to be accurate since he was the one with the medical degree and I was not. Flash forward to three weeks after the antiinflammatory pills ran out. Daisy could barely walk. She was having trouble even squatting to potty or standing at her bowl to eat. So we rushed her back to the vet. When my fiancé met with Dr. Hartzog he was told "You should have gotten the antiinflammatory refilled. She needs to be on this for the rest of her life." My fiancé made him aware that we were under the impression we didn't need to refill it, which Dr. Hartzog completely brushed off. He prescribed the first two medications again and sent Daisy on her way. Needless to say, I was completely stunned when my fiancé informed me about the appointment. Not only did he misinform me in the first place, he did not take responsibility for his mistake. Each time we have been in an appointment with Dr. Hartzog he never once has taken the time to look at Daisy, give any suggestions, explain to us what is going on - all he ever does is stand at the sink and write down notes then rush off. Fortunately, we found a new vet home for Daisy at Greenbelt. They were caring, paid attention to her, listened to our concerns, and explained anything and everything they were doing. They even called a week after her appointment to check up on Daisy! I would not recommend Town & Country to anyone. A veterinarian should love (or at least seem to love) every animal that they encounter. I do not feel Daisy was given proper treatment and attention. Due to Dr. Hartzog's mistake, Daisy will most likely have to have another round of Methocarbonal and Prednisone followed by more blood work and x-rays. All of this could have been avoided had he simply taken the time to listen to what we were asking and paying attention to his patient.Read Less

Will always bring our pet babies here. Had a huge scare this week with our pup and they got us immediately in. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I went in on the 6th. Nice staff, but it was my first time ever to a vet clinic. When I asked how much it would cost for my dogs ears to be looked at they said it would be $30. But when I was leaving they asked for $100. I thought everything they did to her was included in the visit. No one told me there would be additional expenses. Not that I don't mind paying for the care for my dog to get better...I just wish I would have known ahead of time so I could have figured things out with my finances. I don't get paid again until the 15th, & all my bills are due on the 1st..so the $17 I had left is going to have to last me until then. Read Less

My 11 year old pit bull mix ody had a severe allergic reaction. Im not from midland and my dogs regular vet is in el paso so I wasnt sure where to take him. I was turned away by Green Belt animal hospital because I didnt have an appointment and I wasnt already a client so they say but I found this place near by. I took my kitten to Town and Country and got him neutered and just a day later his ear looked HORRIBLE so I took him back in and the vet said his ear had been burned. Not only that, but he implied that we somehow did this to him. There's no way he was burned at our apartment so we took him to another vet and she said it was definitely not a burn. She said he had vasculitis, possibly a reaction to anesthesia. So Town and Country blamed me for something I had no control over and didn't stop to think about possible other reasons for my cat to be injured, just ONE DAY after surgery at their facility. It's one thing for an animal to have a reaction to something, that happens, but then to blame me! No compassion! I almost cried while this vet questioned me about what I did to my cat. I would start by saying for basic services I was always happy with the clinic but when things turned bad and life threatening, I felt as if my pets life wasn't important. I wouldn't recommend them for major decisions. Read Less
