Listen to the reviews, and do not take your pet here. Go to San Antonio or somewhere else just please don't go here. I had a kitten that was extremely lethargic, had come down with hypothermia and extreme dehydration. Her sickness hit suddenly but we were able to get her over to Banfield Pet Hostpital where they did excellent work getting my little kitty to make some progress. She went in with a 91 degree fever which they were able to raise up to 98 and had given her enough fluids to get blood work done... which even though the tests weren't great hinting issues with her kidneys... I still had hope. That is until Banfield closed for the night and we were told to take her to Emergency Pet Clinic. Upon arrival the first thing I was told by the doctor was; she's going to die. Which is not the first thing you tell someone who has been fighting for their kittens life all day. At the beginning Banfield Hospital did inform me it would be a tough fight if she made it, but at least they were kind about it and fought for her all day and told me she was making a lot of progress. My kitten was doing a lot better when we pulled up to EPC; she was actually awake, alert, and trying to play with me. That was a huge difference, so I thought she was going to make it. We told Emergency Pet Clinic exactly what the vet who had taken care of her all day to do.... that was to ONLY keep her under her heat lamp with the IV and nothing else until we got there in the morning to take her back to Bangfield. In fact I would have taken her home for the night had I been able to keep her on the IV, it's the only reason we needed her there for the night; keep her hydrated through the night and maintain a steady temperature. If anything happened at least I could say it's my fault for not authorizing or letting them do more while she was there... but they went ahead and messed with her anyway. When I went to pick her up this morning, the first thing they told me was again she's going to die. Which surprised me cause she was fine before I left... then they walk out with a taped up cardboard box that had my kitty in it half alive. Oh and I was told not to open the box because she was having seizures now... and they did urine samples, gave her pain meds, and more fluids. I did not authorize any of this. Of course I opened the box when I got in my car, and what I found broke my heart beyond words. Her little neck was shaved, it was obvious she'd been pumped up with meds. There was no attempt to wrap her tight in her blanket to keep her temperature stable. She was barely holding on to her life and when I brought her back to Banfield they as well were shocked at how bad she got. I told the vets at EPC to keep her in the cage with the heat lamp and IV, but 30 minutes after I left her records indicate they had taken her out of her cage, moved her to a smaller one, then increased her IV fluids, then she starts having seizures, (hmm maybe you should NOT increase her fluids when she is doing just fine?) so they pump her with pain medications that she did not need. She was messed with all night long and all she needed was sleep and to not be messed with. I do believe there would have been a way we could have got her to come around had it not been for this place pumping my .8 pound kitten with more fluids than her body could take when NEVER said that was okay. But unfortunately she died about an hour after I left. Thanks for your unethical ways of practice EPC. I sure hope I'm the only one that has had to endure this with y'all but from all these other bad reviews it sure doesn't look like it. I wish I could say I will raise hell about this, but considering my kitten is gone now I guess all I can do is inform. Read Less
