I had the most amazing experience yesterday with an amazing vet named Dr. Sara Hofer with Family Pet Clinic of NRH. She took time away from her clinic and made a house call for Gypsy Hall along with 2 technicians, Amanda & Dustin. They were so patient and calm and sweet with Gypsy. They didn't force her to be held down and even when she snapped at the Dr., she simply went slower and remained calm. Gypsy had to have some blood drawn and a few skin scrapes. They helped treat our elderly lab mix, 1 year old chihuahua mix and our box turtle. My elderly dog is very picky with who touches him and he didn't mind them handling him even when he broke his toe nail pretty bad. The vet and staff were very helpful and polite. I've been taking my dog Peanut since he was a baby to this vet. I only trust the vets here with him since he is somewhat special needs (very high anxiety!!). So today, my Cuddles was choking on bread and was almost dead by the time I arrived at the clinic..... where they was able to revive Cuddles and remove the bread so that air could flow properly. Cuddles has become special to my world and heart. He has a companion Babee... he was fighting.....but losing..... I was giving him CPR the entire way trying to get air into him. But I was failing. The Doctor went right to work and she removed the bread and got air back into him until he could breathe again on his. After an hour or more with proper air treatment, Cuddles came to his natural self and I was so happy. Thought I was losing him. We have a great bond and he is worth every dime spent. I took one of my rats there because she was sick and everyone there was amazing. I had 18 year old cat with Kidney disease. He liked everyone there just not going there. They were always great with Endo. When he passed away they were so sweet and understanding. I can honestly and sincerely say that this is the best vet clinic that I have ever used. The entire staff is extremely knowledgeable, professional, and always courteous and happy to help. The vets and technicians always take the time to come out and speak with me about any procedures and issues, and they are patient and willing to thoroughly explain things and address any concerns that I might have. I recently went through a very hard experience with one of my dogs, and the entire staff was very compassionate and helpful. This clinic is awesome! My dog needed to be seen right away. I called the closest clinic to me and I was not let down. I took him in immediately and I didn't have to wait long. They were understanding to the fact that my dog was not good around other animals. They examined him and gave me a treatment plan. They were reasonable priced but I hadn't planned for this emergency so I still couldn't afford the recommended treatment. They worked with me and treated my dog with great care. A few of the really good vets have moved to other clinics but Dr Ford is still there so it's all good. They focus and pay attention to all the needs, not just the clock or the bank account. I took my chameleon, Stanley, here today. He was sick and needed immediate attention. Even though I arrived at my appointment early, they immediately put Stanley's well-being first, placing him on a heating pad. Dr. Garretson was WONDERFUL! She was extremely knowledgeable about chameleons and asked so many good questions and did a thorough exam. She and the staff had a personalized treatment plan drawn up and ready within minutes and Stanley was given everything he needed. I honestly keep forgetting to post this thing over and over again anyway long story short, these guys ought be highly praised because WOW these guys are so good. I had my first visit after being faced with an emergency over my gecko. I called them from a recommendation and the lady who responded was very sweet and very patient with me while I was crying and practically freaking out. I came and waited my turn, met with Dr. Ford who was also very patient and kind. He confirmed my fears and even further explained some thjngs for me to understand better. Having a hectic schedule, they worked with me move to another appointment date no problem and when I came back I was given the same sweet treatment as the first time and even more! I honestly wish I could write about the whole experience but I'm not the best with words, but trust me when I say that these guys really do CARE about your pet and even you, yourself. My family has had several guinea pigs over the past few years and have always used Family Pet Clinic. It's difficult to find vets in our area who care for exotic pets, and I am so glad I found them! Most recently, Dr. Ford has provided vet care for a couple of our piggies. He is truly compassionate, sympathetic, and caring. Guinea pigs typically live only a few years; so when our piggies have reached the end of life and are suffering, he has helped us weigh the treatment options. Unfortunately, we have had to euthanize our last two due to their failing health. Many pet owners don't seem to appreciate the fact that exotic pets are "family members", too - just like dogs and cats. Dr. Ford and the staff don't hold that opinion! They allowed me the option to be with the piggies as they drew their last breaths and to say my goodbyes -- this meant a lot to me.
