Wish I could give zero stars. Didn't check my puppy for parvo, immunized him for parvo, stated they would test for parvo in 3 weeks. Two days later my pup was lethargic, nauseated with noticeable weight loss. So we called Eighth Street Animal Hospital, the receptionist was extremely rude & had the audacity to scold us for not calling the first day of symptoms. We stated we thought the lethargy stemmed from the immunizations. She made us feel like we were imbeciles for thinking such since, "dogs are not like humans and should not react that way." She then proceeded to set up an appointment for the following day. It's not like we knew what to expect after shots, since NO education or explanation was given when we left the facility. We ended up taking our puppy to West Texas Emergency Veterinary Clinic after midnight & an episode of vomiting. They tested our pup & confirmed he had parvo. He is now hospitalized & we are hoping he pulls through. I truly hope the Eighth Street Animal Hospital changes their methods & personnel for the sake of current clients & poor future clients.

I went to get my birds wings and claws trimmed. The nurse was Amazing and so nice! But the vet made me so ANGRY. He told me to give my bird DOG FOOD so her poop would turn brown. If he was an actual VET he would know what normal bird poop should look like! I would never give my bird dog food!! Never going back.

The entire staff is friendly and caring toward your pet.They know them by name and they have alot of patience with their patients. The environment is clean and if a sick pet soils three floor, a staff member quickly cleans, disenfects and deodorizes the area. I love and trust this place with my fur baby.

They never mention my dog had fever, till the next day at another one of their "let me charge you some more money" check ups They seem to only be concern on dragging out how sick a pet is so they can keep charging for every visit and every visit it's a new test that needs to be done! 3 appointments later and I still don't have a diagnostic on what my dog has! Just a "quote" on the next exam Horrible people

Ok, Pepper was spayed and had her tail cropped. Multiple complications arose including bleeding, vomiting and infection. All since Friday evening when I picked her up. She was put in a cage, where she had access to her tail. She removed stitches, was bleeding at vets. They placed a dressing comprised of only coban and silk tape. Nothing to pull the drainage away from the incisions (there were 3, not 1 as a flap), so the blood pooled in dressing, then continued dripping. The incision became infected (duh), no antibiotics on board, which is standard for any surgery. Puss was draining from her tail Sunday. I had to enlist help from my friend, a Certified Wound Care Nurse (thanks, Lagaytha Lewallen!) I "doctored" her myself all weekend, missing a day of work, and this am, the receptionist acted like an idiot, asking me why I thought her tail was infected. After she felt the full wrath, they took her back and are housing her (cameras only, that the Dr checks occasionally, allegedly), free of charge. It's 8th street Animal Hospital. Enter at your own risk.

Wish I could give zero stars. Didn't check my puppy for parvo, immunized him for parvo, stated they would test for parvo in 3 weeks. Two days later my pup was lethargic, nauseated with noticeable weight loss. So we called Eighth Street Animal Hospital, the receptionist was extremely rude & had the audacity to scold us for not calling the first day of symptoms. Ok, Pepper was spayed and had her tail cropped. Multiple complications arose including bleeding, vomiting and infection. All since Friday evening when I picked her up. She was put in a cage, where she had access to her tail. She removed stitches, was bleeding at vets. They placed a dressing comprised of only coban and silk tape.
