I love this place! I was very tired and frustrated that I have to do this alone with two babies( a fussy 9 month baby and my dog). However, the staffs were so nice and friendly.Both the nurse and the vet tried very hard to explain everything for me since English is my second language. They are so patient with me! If you want your pets to have the best care available this is the place. My dad use to bring his dogs here and his horse's were seen as well. Our vet then was Dr.Campbell. We lived down the street from were she kept her horses. I use to love to watch her ride. This practice has nothing but compassion. Took a puppy I found on the street to this vet yesterday and omg was the staff fabulous! I first tried to go to my current vet but they were booked and I'm so glad I came here because I am thinking of switching now. Everyone in the office is very professional, knowledgeable and kind. We're new to the area and needed our dogs to be vaccinated for an upcoming boarding. The office made an appointment that day and the staff were super accommodating with my two nervous dogs. We've been pleased with the facility so far. We used them for annual checkups, spaying, and boarding. They even performed an annual checkup on one of our pets during his boarding stay. I think prices are a bit inflated - I don't see any reason for a bath at a vet office to be more expensive than a bath at Petsmart. It would also be nice if they offered a discount on lodging or exit baths when boarding multiple animals as other facilities in the area do so I knocked off a star for that. Our first experience was a pleasant one. You can smell the cleanliness when you open the front door. Staff is very friendly. We were seen within minutes of arriving. Dr. E. and his assistant was proficient in their jobs, that you can tell they love. Our little 11 week old Yorkie was sick today. Not eating and just laying around. He also had worms in his poop. I called they were so nice and got me in. The tech and the doctor was great. The doctor gave us a good plan for him and they gave him fluids. Once he had his fluids he perked up some. So I am thankful they knew exactly what to do. A little pricey, but fantastic service. For example, I was charged $30 to admin Benadryl to my less than 5lb puppy. I could have bought 10 bottles and administered it myself for that much. Why I will keep going here despite the cost...my vet is super attentive and nice; she really cares and spends time answering questions. Even stays past closing time to take care of her pet patients and their families. I'll just have to get some good pet insurance for future appointments or else it's really going to break mommy and daddy's pockets. :-) Read Less

My husband and I moved to the area recently and I was anxious about finding a vet that I loved as much as our previous one and after reading reviews for Westside, decided to drive a little farther out than I'd planned to and am so glad that I did. The staff was wonderful and the vet who took care of my pups - updated their shots, general check-up, flea treatment - was so great and patient. He explained everything they were doing in detail and answered all the questions that I had about the medicine that was prescribed and follow-up treatments. Awesome job overall. My only complaint was that we had to wait about 20 minutes past our appointment time just to get roomed, and the communication about this wasn't great. I took care of all paperwork via their website. When I arrived all my information had been drawn up, and I only had to sign confirming all was correct. Brought my sick cat in on his leash. The vet techs had to take him away for weight etc. and gave him so much love. They finally pinpointed his disease and gave me some answers. Trust them completely. We walked in not having an appointment today. Saturday and they close at noon. We walked up and let her know we didn't have an appt..could they please have mercy on us. Without skipping a beat, she said of course we can see her. We figured we would be waiting a while, but nope 15 mins later we were in a room. The vet tech (I can't think of her) was awesome! Willow was almost falling asleep in her arms as Dr. Eickelman was explaining stuff to us. We have been looking for a new vet..I think we found one today. After numerous bad that experiences over the years, I took a recommendation to bring my great Dane puppy to Dr. Campbell for her ear cropping. We unfortunately had just lost another Dane puppy at a very young age due to an inattentive vet, and we were very paranoid this time around. Dr. Campbell made it very clear that the overall health of our dogs is more important than anything else and it shows. Her staff knows our dogs by name and I can tell our babies enjoy their time with them. They genuinely care about the pets and even recognize my voice over the phone before I tell them who's calling. I visited Westside Vet Hospital with a beautiful puppy I had just rescued from Pearland Animal Control. I highly recommend them. They were so helpful and nice. They were able to squeeze me in day after I called. I had to wait a little bit but the staff couldn't have been nicer, getting my puppy and me water and getting us into a room as soon as they could. Their prices were great, the staff, the vet and vet tech were great and they give discounts if you adopt a pet from Pearland Animal Control. Last January, my 9 year old chihuahua was attacked by my neighbor's dog. She underwent emergency surgery that night at a 24 hour facility. Three days later, Izzy was transferred to Westside and has been under their care ever since. So, it's safe to say, I have been to Westside 20+ times in the past 3 months. I've seen the doctors and staff at Westside many, many, MANY times since Izzy was first admitted, which has really given me the opportunity to get to know them on a personal basis. This is what i have learned: The doctors and staff at Westside have been extremely loving, patient and dedicated with little Izzy. Pets are always welcomed with a smile, and Izzy is often greeted by someone that recognizes her. Izzy feels very comfortable around their staff, which makes me feel at ease when dropping her off. I know she is always in good hands. Dr. Ikleman and Mr. Doleski are amazing! They have been extremely kind and helpful throughout this difficult time for my family. They truly want what is best for Izzy and for that, I am extremely grateful.Westside is not just some veterinary clinic - it's a home away from home for all of the animals in their care. The female doctor there, Dr. Campbell is AMAZING. However, if you get unlucky and have to see Dr. Hofsvetter, than I would just cancel the appointment. He is very condescending, doesn't listen to your concerns, will laugh at your concerns, and then do whatever he wants without talking to you. I took my dog in for a check up, normally $35 before taxes. They take him back to get his weight, they bring him back to me, and now there's $60 of extra charges that I wasn't even aware of until I was paying. I got the reciept to see what I had paid for and there were shots he hadn't told me about or explained to me, or given me a price or anything. I went in there expecting maybe $60 for the trip and left having paid $125. Prior to that, I had taken my dog in to get his tumors looked at. In the past my dog has had problems with tumor growth. It will accelerate quickly and in places that will make it hard for him to move and walk. I explain this to the doctor and he just laughed at me and told me my concerns were worthless and I was just worried about the asthetic look of my dog. Really? No, the one that kept him from walking a few years back has returned and it's growth was getting faster and I wanted to get it before it messed up his shoulder and walking again. He laughed at me and then left the room. Then I took my dog in for a special little two minute procedure and wanted to ask the vet tech if she could look at his leg and tell me if I could just keep putting neosporin on it, or if he needed something stronger or what. The lady at the front desk tells me I have to make an appointment just to ask that question, and that is because a vet tech isn't trained to know that kind of stuff. I have half a dozen friends who are vet techs in other areas, I know that they know this stuff. But they just want my money. Read Less

I took my Chihuahua to get her teeth cleaned by Dr. Campbell. Because she is almost 12 years old and issues with a previous cleaning by another vet (severe wheezing for months afterwards), I was very nervous about having them cleaned again. By the time I took her to Dr. Campbell, her teeth were in pretty bad shape. Dr. Campbell assured me that everything would be OK and that she would take every precaution when putting the tub and removing it. Well, it has been four days since she had them cleaned and she is in great shape. She has not shown a single sign of her throat being irritated and has not wheezed once. Even though she lost most of her teeth, she is gobbling her food down as if she had a full set and is once again barking her little head off at the 120 pound dog next door. The entire office staff was very professional and caring. I had other issues with my previous vet and after talking with Dr. Campbell, I feel comfortable switching to her clinic. Read Less

This is the worse veterinary clinic I have been to. My dogs are 14 years old and I have been lucky to have poutstanding doctors care for them. Dr.m Campbells office is a ripe off! Stqay away from Dr. Ulfohn. MY DOG'S CONDITION IS WORSE. WHILE HOSPITALIZED THERE SHE STARTED TO SWELL. I POINTED THIS OUT AND ALL THEY COULD SAY IS ""OH I AM NOT SURE"". When I went to pick up my dog they left the cathiter in her arm and her arm became swollen 3x's the size. I will update you on the prognosis when I get one. The cost was close to $900. It is in my opinion they need their mortgage or taxes paid. They had absolutely no regard nor concern for the health of my dog! BEWARE> BEWARE> BEWARE Read Less

My Mom took my brothers dog there recently after he was hit by a car. She told them that she wasn't sure the exact day that he was hit (possibly on Sat or Sun), she filled out what little she knew about the dog and gave them my brothers number to contact him. He NEVER received a call. They never contacted him to let him know what was going on, how his dog was or what procedures they needed to perform on him. NOTHING. My brothers dog was not on any heartworm meds, etc. (From my own experience working at an animal hospital in Pearland for years, we ALWAYS tested the animal for HW's if they hadn't been previously tested or treated, unless the client refused. We would then tell them the dangers of not having their animal tested, and the problems their animal may have handling the anesthetic.) They put him under, popped his hip back into place and called it good. My Mom had to go pick him up because they never called my brother to let him know anything, just to call my Mom and have him picked up. Well he died the next day. Hmm, funny how a dislocated hip can kill a dog! He was fine that night after the procedure, the next day my Mom went to check on him (my brother was at work), and he was dead. She called to talk to the tech (whom apparently isn't well trained and should be in a completely different job field) and asked how this could happen, and if they performed a heartworm test. The girl didn?t know what to say and she said no that he wasn?t tested, but lo and behold they had charged him to be tested and said that they would test him! (My Mom had informed them that he had not been on any kind of flea or heartworm prevention). Now they're demanding their money...for killing a dog. If the dogs condition was that serious my brother would have done what he had to do to get him well. Not just pop his hip back into place and let him come home to die!!! My brother offered to pay the office visit fee and the cost of the X-Rays, but the owner said no he wants payment in full. Can you say CROOK??!! I took my dog in because she has been limping and has a large lump in her rib area. Initially Dr. Ulfohn wanted to do xrays and of course I agreed. A few minutes later I was told the xray machine was broken and that I should go somewhere else. I paid for an office visit and was told nothing about the condition of my dog. On my way to find another vet Westside called and said their xray machine was fixed so I turned around. They took two xrays of my dog, neither of them addressed the issues I brought her in for. For some reason they took xrays of her lungs, the results of which seem to indicate cancer in this area. I was told this was not good. Of course I broke down. I guess they thought because she might have cancer the problems I brought her in for were no longer relavent. My dog is still limping. Dr. Ulfohn could not explain the limp, never even attempted to explain the limp, they also did not xray the lump I brought her in for. The only thing I got for the two hundred dollars I spent was the name of an onologist. Hopefully this doctor will spend some time with my animal and address all of her pains and not stop caring because my dog may have cancer. Or maybe the indifference I fetl from the staff was becausie it was quitting time at Westside Vet. I will not be going back to this hospital. Read Less
