Terrible service, I scheduled both of my dogs to get an appointment and a few days before the appointment they called and said one was cancelled without us canceling it. I LOVE this location! We started taking our new puppy there when we got him, the staff is amazing always very sweet. When we have appointments they always call to remind us and after the appointment they call you the next day to check up on everything. My puppy is never scared with any of the staff. They are always busy which is a great thing they do their jobs very well! We got the wellness plan and it has saved us SO much money I can take my puppy in for anything that is worrying me. They get you in quick you do not have to wait days to get a appointment. I highly reccomend this location for your pets! Read Less

The only good thing about Banfield is that it is convenient. I wish I had stayed with my other vet. They do not offer personalized care or any follow up. I did everything the vet told me to do for my dog. I called the office with questions regarding a follow up visit. They said the vet would call me back around 430 the same day. He never did. My dog died a few days later. I truly believe that he could have lived longer if there was a follow up. At least a call to answer my questions. I miss my dog and regret switching to Banfield for their wellness plan & convenient hours. Also, even if your pet is dead, you still have to pay monthly for the wellness plan. Unbelievable. I have taken my dogs to Banfield for the past 15 years. They are busy for a reason, many people are happy with the services and care. It's affordable and the vet has always made accurate diagnosis and treatments. They will also work your dog into their schedule if there is an immediate concern. Other vets usually make you schedule an appointment which you end up having to wait days. I do agree that the staff could be a little more "warm & fuzzy" but I am still very pleased with the results I get and choose not to make any personal attacks any of the hard working employees at Banfield. The receptionist Candice has the worst attitude I have ever dealt with at a place. She is unhelpful and just plain rude. I will never come to this location because of her. Just save your time and go to another banfield. I don't need to deal with mad mouthing employees when I can go somewhere else. I love this Banfield location! I rescue a puppy about 5 months ago and I've got on with their Wellness plans and I absolutely love the care we've gotten every time we've gone in. The staff is friendly, they take time to answer my questions, and they all genuinely seem to love my dog! They talk about their pets at home and that makes me feel like we're all in the same boat, just loving our pets! My dog doesn't mind going there she actually goes in without turning back and she does just fine when I drop her off. Wow this place is horrible. Well my dog is 10 years old and has been slowing down lately. She had a little bit of hamburger meat the other night and got sick. She has been sleeping more than usual and a real lack of energy. Decided she needed to have a checkup and this Petsmart was the closest place to my house. Took her in at 730 am on 12/29/16, walk into to a lady trying to sell me on insurance packages, and all sorts of different test. Knowing I'm upset and in a vulnerable state she took advantage. Wasn't planning on dropping $355 right then. So she made me feel horrible that I couldn't afford to do every test available. Told her to just do the blood test $147.99 and she then turned very rude and insulting. After not hearing any news by 10 am I called for an update. Told that Dr. Wilcox did the blood test and needed to review the results and will call. Got a call 2 hrs later asking if he could do the blood test and another test. He said the girl from that morning said I told her not to do any test. He did the blood test and called me about an hr later. This is the most horrific part of the experience .. he said that her white blood cell count was high and another number pertaining to her liver was high. Was told that I had 3 options. 1. Get an X-ray but it won't tell him much 2. Get an ultrasound and hospitalize her for 3 days at an emergency care facility cost $2000-$3000. 3. Have her euthanized.. Dr. wilcox said the X-ray wouldn't do much good so it was either pay $2000-3000 or euthanize. I know my dog and she is not ready to give up that easily. Sorry I don't have $3,000 laying around. I felt like such a horrible person trying to scramble money around crying my eyes out for hours not knowing how I can save her. The 24 hr care facility was also 35-40 min away. This place saw $$ signs only, no empathy for my dog nor me. Went to a vet my friend referred and he said antibiotics should do the trick. This place almost killed my dog, to fill their pockets with money!!! Beware this is disgusting, I hope no one has fell for their deceitful practices. My dog has been going to this location for 8yrs..and the care he has received has been good. Except for the last couple of years the customer service has gone down they make you feel like you are at a car lot and it's all about the sale. Maxing out all the procedures they can push on you even if your pet doesn't need those procedures. But wait when you start questioning why those procedures and what other alternative we can use. You get the "I don't know let me go ask.. I don't know let me go ask" You can never just get a straight answer. I was just there with my dog yesterday and I can't tell you how many times I heard that statement. I feel like as long as your pet is going in for the comp exam and shots per the health insurance you will get in and out with no problems.. Any thing else.. Dr. Mendoza-Wall is Amazing!!! My Puppy was playing at the dog park and injured her leg. She was in so much pain she would not eat. When I took her in she  was soooo  scared she was shaking. When one of the nurses came out and got on her knees and hugged my dog to comfort her my heart melted! My puppy stopped shaking and gave her a big kiss on the face. I have never posted a negative review before, but i feel like this needs to be brought up to the attention of others. My dog Meesha was adopted by our family 2 months ago. She is extremely afraid of other people and new surroundings but she is the most loving and gentle pitbull u will ever meet!!! She is such a good baby!. She was diagnosed with demodex mange. Her hair has been falling off non stop. We have tried multiple treatments and nothinghasworked. So then the doctor prescribed for her to get a lime bath one time a week for 4 weeks. When i called THIS banfield the receptionist named Freja, said that noone knew how to give a lime bath, she then told me i couldnt bring my dog in... i asked if she could ask someone, which she did and she got back on the phone and told me to drop her off. When i got there, the scale was full of dog hair and had crap all over it. She expected me too out my dog on that dirty scale. I had to ASK HER to please clean it. She told me that they didnt need an accurate weight, to estimate it. Ummm. What?! So then LESLIE the Vet assistant, came to get meesha, and towered over my scared little meesha. I had to tell her to please squat down that way she didnt feel so intimidated but she didn't squat down. My dog was so afraid... u learn how to approach dogs that look or seem to be scared. You dont TOWER over them! She told me that it would be up to the doctor if they would do the bath or not and they would call me whenever the doctor gets in to let me know whats going on. I had dropped her off at 7:30! I had to call them at 12 to ask what was going on, to find out that ny dog would be sitting there all day for no reason. They told me that they wouldnt have enough time to help my dog. I wish they wouldve called me sooner that way i couldve sent someone over tonpick her up. So many excuses and it seems as if they dont wanna do it. Its for the sake of my dog who is suffering from a skin infection and demodex. Its heart breaking.Read Less

They were nice to begin with but then they turned out to be liars. I'm astounded at the lack of helpfulness that this location exhibited. I brought my dog here to find or why her allergies flared up. I explained that I was on a very tricky budget and that I was an issue. They said no problem well get her why she needs. They wanted to charge me almost 90$ for medicine that was significantly less through petmeds. 65$ with taxes through petmeds. Along with free shipping. I had even asked them prior if there was anyway they could call it into another pharmacy where it was less and if not if they could write me a prescription so I could take it elsewhere for her. They said they could not call it in and nor could they write me a prescription. I was confused because I though Vets were doctors that could write prescriptions for their clients to take elsewhere if need be. So after being lied to and told that they couldn't write a prescription, which I know they can, I left paying $0. I do not recommend going here and I do not recommend Banfield. Do not take your dog here because they will try to rip you off. They only have their wallet as their best interest. Read Less

I first went to this Banfield 11 years ago when I got my first puppy. They were excellent with her and I was comfortable bringing in my second rescue two years later. He had a recurring infection in the metal plate in his hip (he had been badly abused) and Dr Johnson had to open him up to remove a cyst. Because I had the wellness program, they lumped it in with his dental cleaning and what would have cost $1100 cost me $100. The infection kept recurring and we were afraid he would have to have another surgery, but the Dr. wanted to try heavy antibiotics in order to avoid the invasive procedure. 6 weeks of treatment and he never had another issue!After I moved to Austin in 2008, I noticed immediately after receiving her rabies shot, my female began having issues with walking. We drove back to Plano because Dr. H and Dr J were the only vets I trusted. Dr H took care of her personally, took samples of the fluid buildup, and confirmed that she was having a serious reaction to the shot. He did this all at no cost for me, because he wanted her taken care of. When we moved back to Plano last September, I was so happy to be back under their care. They remembered my animals, and even the new faces know their names now. My animals are older and have lots of health problems- one has permanent nerve damage from that shot long ago, and one continues to get tumors and lumps (removed each time with the dental cleaning covered by the plan!) The wellness program and the vets have saved me countless thousands of dollars over their lives! If you have a pet with no health issues, maybe the program is a bit pricey, but when something goes seriously wrong, you'll be so glad you have it!! Don't listen to these reviews, as with any business, only the unhappy ones go online to post. But all of the years they have been open, and with all of the clients they have, only a handful of negative reviews means they are doing something right. We love them, and they treat us like family! My dog has been going here since he was a puppy. He has been on the wellness plan since he was a puppy--he is now almost 8 years old. About 3 years ago, I listened to other people who said Banfield was expensive & added services for no reason and went to another vet. I was charged almost triple the price--the cost for vaccines & office visits alone wasn't worth it. I was playing roulette with my pets health! Now anytime my dog sneezes wrong I know I can take him to Banfield with no charge--and they soothe my frazzled nerves. If you tell the staff that you are on a budget--which I am--they will understand that and work with you. If it's something that can wait, they wait. If there is an over the counter remedy--they will tell you. I love the doctors & the staff. They know me & I know them after almost 8 years of services. If they don't know you or your pet, it's just like a MD without a good history; they are going to charge you for testing. I prefer thorough over cheap. I recommend all my friends to go here when they are on a budget & work hectic hours. Where else are you going to find a vet that is open on SUNDAYS? Where you can drop them off at 7AM and pick them up after work at 6PM? Where you can pay $200 a year and $1,000 worth of services are covered, with discount prescriptions. Other than pet insurance which most vets do not take & you have to research because it is littered with bad companies. I am a one stop shopping kind of person. My puppy consumed rat poison over the weekend. When I took her to Banfield, I was told they would need to run blood tests, which would cost $140. After the tests, no matter the result, they would prescribe her medicine, which they said was very expensive. I decided it would be best to get a second opinion and told them I wanted to take my dog home. The vet tech's reaction was quite negative and it was apparent that she did not agree with my decision. I promptly took my dog to another vet, who examined her and prescribed the medication, which cost only $8. Overall, I felt the staff was unhelpful, uncaring, judgmental and only interesting in money.
