I had read positive reviews on Chase Oaks Animal Clinic and really wanted to take my dog there as a result. I called early in the week and couldn't get an appointment until Friday (end of week). My yorkie was not well and continued to get worse. I tried to get an appointment moved up and the scheduler didn't seem to care about my dog's condition and could not offer an earlier appointment. I had to take my dog to another vet on Thursday and sadly we had to put her down that day. I just wish Chase Oaks would have shown more care for a sick dog call in. Read Less

I've taken my pup here a few times and Dr. Sanders really truly cares. He loves his job and you can tell. Any sort of diagnosis, I fully trust him. All of the vet techs here are great as well and don't mind my rather moody Chihuahua. The ONLY reason I can't give a 5/5 is just because the billing. Things start to add up fast and you aren't aware of the price until check out. There are some odd little fees too like "medical waste fee". Just ask questions about costs and such and you'll be fine. I chose Chase Oaks Animal Clinic based upon all the 5 star reviews. I had a crisis on my hands with my 3-yr. old mini Schnauzer/Chihuahua that we adopted and didn't have a vet. I can't say enough wonderful things about the people at this facility. I read about Dr. Sanders being amazing, but as it turned out he was off the day of our visit. His relief DVM was Molly Price and she was terrific.; kind, caring, and very gentle w/our little dog who was in serious pain. SueAnne at the front desk was so helpful, setting everything up that was needed and printing up a quote for future medical needs. The warm friendly environment is a wonderful asset when you and your pet are stressed out!I have since had to place several calls due to new issues that arose and I received nothing but kind responses with helpful information. Dr. Sanders himself called me back and, though we have never met, his demeanor was everything described by reviewers.Since I started relying on reviews many years ago, I have yet to be disappointed and thank those of you who took the time to write about Chase Oaks Animal Clinic. I've gone to Dr. Sanders for years for all of my dogs. He is a great vet and very experienced. I LOVE him as a doctor but the new nurse and receptionist are just plain rude. I reccomend him but be careful of the other rude staff. (Btw dont ever get a DNA test from there. They overcharged me something I could've gotten for $100 less online) Read Less

Dr. Sanders and his staff couldn't be better. They know me by my voice when I call and the name of my dog (especially Andrea). Dr. Sanders always takes time with me and I never feel rushed. Dr. Sanders is the best!  Our family has been with Chase Oaks for years and I have nothing but GREAT reviews! Dr. Sanders is wonderful to our fur babies. We have watched him hold, love and nuture one of our pups after she had a scary night at an Emergency Clinic. We have also seen him literally lay down in the floor with our 150 lb Irish Wolfhound so he could gently take out her stitches and staples after a major surgery all while gently lovingly talking to her and she was completely enamored with him. Dr. Sanders is also extremely reasonable with their prices and very cautious not to over prescribe or over-test just to make money.  He offers ways to save you money as much as possible. He also looks for opportunities to educate especially when you bring in your kids with your animals. His patients with the animals and enthusiasm to share his knowledge is outstanding!It is remarkable every time we take our fur babies in to see Dr. Sanders, he not only remembers details about them, but he also remembers details about each of my children as well.Dr. Sanders is family to us! I would give no star if I could. The receptionist is an angel but the technician has horrible work attitude and is incompetent and ignorant. She assumes that customer knows nothing and that she liternally kicked me out of the clinic. I wanted to bring my pet to travel internationally. I have done all the work which include micro-chipping, vaccine, import permit, and I told her I would even bring the health cert to NIES for endorsement. All I need is a health exam and a document from the vet. She keeps yelling at me saying that bringing a pet is a very complicated process, sounded like she is sweating on her job each day, and she thought customer do not know a thing. I can say Doug honestly cares and likes the animals in his care. This was my first experience at Chase Oaks and I could feel how as I talked with him that he knew my animals closely and either took good notes, or he just knew good talking points.that said, billing here is another matter, when boarding two dogs for a week i can promise things can get out of hand quickly. There were a number of tests run that we didn't know they were going to run..(heart-worm etc.). They also found slight ear infections and started to treat them without even trying a courtesy call. Thats kinda uncool. and even little crappy line item charges like "medical waste fee".Bottom line, i trust the dr with their care.. (nothing he did was against their best interest). but, i feel like i went in for a 400 boarding.. that turned into a 1k event, with not even a phone call. and for that. reason I doubt we'll return. The staff is so friendly and always very helpful, I trust no one else with my dog other than the family at Chase Oaks. Dr. Doug Sanders has been our vet through all the dogs of our extended family which amount to six dogs over 25 years. He has tended to their problems, given advice and good health and with great compassion, helped them die when too ill to go on. He says the right thing, has a great sense of humor, much knowledge and experience. He is fair and decent and I'd never see anyone else for our animals. I have been coming to Chase Oaks for well over one year now, and I have nothing but positive things to say about this place. Dr. Sanders is amazing and most of his staff are very knowledgable and helpful. As cheesy as it sounds, they really do treat you like family and pay attention to the details. Not only are they good at what they do, but they're also very reasonably fair with their prices. Dr. Sanders "gets" it. He's extremely honest, fair and knowledgable and doesn't prescribe you meds just to make money. He often suggests alternatives to save you money, and has even cut me some slack (on several occasions) where he feels appropriate. I completely trust him and his advice. This is an example of why this place is so great. I have two dogs and one is a large "guard dog" breed and looks vicious but is a gentle giant. And Dr. Sanders totally picked up on that and trusts my dog. (I've had other vets muzzle my dog just for a check up because of this breeds reputation.) Dr. Sanders really gets to know you and your dog, and makes it a personalized visit.This is the ultimate example of why this place is so great. Dr. Sanders and his staff saved my 13 year old cockapoo's life last summer and I will always be thankful for that. I was told from another vet (East Plano Animal Hospital) that my dog had arthritis and that's why he couldn't walk. Of course I was prescribed a bunch of meds for this. I then took my dog to Dr. Sanders for a second opinion and he knew immediately that my dog had injured his back. Apparently you only have 72 hours before back injuries become permanent and it had been just about 72 hours before we got him to Dr. Sanders. Dr. Sanders and his staff kept my dog over night and gave him steroid shots every couple of hours during the entire night. I was sent home with more steroids and pain pills, and told to keep him crated to keep him as still as possible for a few weeks. Luckily my dog made a 100% recovery -- otherwise I would of had to put him down because he literally could not walk. And that's how I became a Chase Oaks Animal Clinic and Dr. Sanders customer for life. Read Less

Great clinic! The Vet we saw is very smart and practical. I don't feel like they are trying to scam you into purchasing unnecessary food or medical procedures. They really seem to care about what is best for your pet! Also, our dog had an injury and the Vet took great care ensuring that we understood the mechanisms of the injury. When looking for top care for your pet combined with a good bedside manner and common sense approach, head to Dr. Doug Sanders and the Chase Oaks Animal Clinic. We began using the Doc when he first started his practice. It's only gotten better. We've tried another (much closer location), but came back to Dr. Sanders for a better personal touch.The fees are very reasonable. They are 25%+ less than some clinics in McKinney. His staff are always courteous and professional. The place is always clean. When needing surgery and/or medications, the prices are reasonable. The care (before, during and after) are stupendous. When recently having our dog spade and dew claw removal, they didn't charge extra for additional visits or medication.If there were anything to improve, it would be responsiveness of staff. They get back with you the same day, but they're obviously very busy. Compared to others, Chase Oaks is about the same or slightly better.When needing the best animal care, give Chase Oaks a call. We have been taking our cats to Chase Oaks since 2001 and our dog since we adopted him in 2009.  We have had nothing but positive experiences with Dr. Sanders and his staff--they have all been a delight to work with!  He is very thurough but measured in his approach.  Both of our cats have chronic health conditions (one has a cleft palate and the other has an underdeveloped kidney), and Dr. Sanders gave us the pros and cons of treatment and supported our decisions instead of shoving every possible test or procedure on us.  He is always upbeat and clearly loves working with pets and their families, and his rates are more reasonable than some other animal clinics we've visited over the years.  Even though we have moved away from Plano, we keep coming back!  Can't recommend him enough! Dr. Sanders is the best vet I have ever had.  He truly loves what he does and sincerely cares about the animals.  And he doesn't nickle and dime you to death like most vets do.  In fact, he will do his best to keep the cost to a minimum when extensive care is needed.  The staff are also very friendly and some will do pet sitting for you (for a fee) while you are out of town.  I miss this place terribly because I had to move out of state.  I look forward to the day I can return to Texas and have them start caring for my pets again because they really do provide the best care.
