I have 2 cats that go here, Rossi and Valentine. Valentine is a new addition so I can't really speak to how she is treated but they have treated Rossi AMAZINGLY. So much, that as soon as he sees his vet tech, Sara, he gets excited and wants her to pet him. Nothing speaks more to how an animal is treated behind your back then their honest reaction to a friendly face. Same with Dr. Benjamin. I don't feel as if I've ever been misguided or pressured to pay for anything necessarily. They send us free claw trimmings for our pet's birthdays on a custom printed postcard with a picture of our pets, which is such a lovely personal touch! Dr. Benjamin and his office staff are so cordial accommodating, and good to my pets. It is by far the best veterinarian office I have ever been to. Dr. Benjamin is very thorough, loving and gentle to my 2 chocolate labs. He's always up-to-date on the latest and greatest! We love Dr.Benjamin and have used him for several years, He was the ONLY Vet around that could truly care for my diabetic cat. Poor service and inept vet whose focus is to extract as much money from pet owners. Could not perform the surgery and insisted on being paid for a job " blotched" My pet suffered. I had to take him to another hospital to redo the surgery. He did not make it back as it was too much for him. Would not recommend this vet or this facility at all. I have 3 large breed mixed "special " rescued dogs.  Dr Benjamin and his staff have been nothing but helpful and accommodating to me and my dogs.I have anxiety going to any vet because one dog is a fear biter, another has a tremendous prey drive and the third one likes to bark at random strangers scaring the heck out of them.  These people work around my dread of taking my dogs in.  I take them one at a time, the Dr examines them in the back, and like magic they come back to me with wagging tails.  These dogs are our babies.  No one here questions why we rescued dogs with problems.  These dogs work for us and we love them.  We recently had a new roof put on our house and Dr Benjamin prescribed something that made it so much easier for the dogs.  BTW 2 of them have thunderstorm anxiety, so you can imagine.I would recommend this clinic for your fancy purebred or your mutt.  Either way, no dog and no one is perfect.   But this clinic will help you manage and maintain the health of your dog. My favorite vet ever. I'm extremely happy with the care. My animals are well cared for by everyone there. I've called close to closing time because I thought one of my fur babies was sick and needed to be seen. I was welcomed and never rushed even though it was late in the day. Only necessary testing is done and I'm always told ahead of time the cost so there are no surprises. All of the diagnoses have been accurate. The animals are treated as if they were their own. The staff is incredible. They're all very friendly and knowledgable. Unfortunately, we had to put our kitten down about a year ago. Everyone was very empathetic and sensitive to our situation, and they sent us a card for our loss, which meant a great deal to us. I have waited 1 WHOLE year to write this review. Exactly, a year back it was highly unfortunate for me to have visited this facility - I'm glad I stopped going there immediately.I went there with the Dog that I had found as a stray. They did all the tests, worth few hundred dollars and Dr Benjamin declared that he had an Permanent Kidney Failure.. Agree per Lab work, Creatinine was 6.4 and BUN at around 100.Dr Benjamin predicted it would be a 'miracle' if he is alive beyond 3-4months . He also has some Special powers to predict that the Dog would 'stop' eating and drinking after a month or so, so however or whatever I do I can't SAVE him. Being my first dog, I was obviously overwhelmed and nervous, repeatedly kept asking about Diets,etc - very cold responses. Made few calls,and the person at front desk started advising on what I should feed a Dog with 99% Renal Failure !!!1 year, my Baby is very much ALIVE And KICKING - I take him to a Speciality Clinic and he is getting better everyday! Great experience! My first thought when we walked in was, "this place smells clean." It did not smell like bleach. It smelled clean. We were warmly greeted by the receptionist and engaged by one of the friendly vet assistants. She made quick friends with our puppy and had little trouble getting him through a few quick procedures. Dr. Benjamin was very personable and handled our pup gently through the exam and vaccinations. Everything was explained to me clearly, and the checkout process was equally smooth. Our dog found a fresh rabbit carcass while we were on a nature walk. A few weeks later we noticed these tiny pin like worms in her stool so we took her to the clinic as we are regular clients.  They took the stool sample and came back 30 minutes later saying that there was nothing wrong with her and that we could go home. I disagreed and asked for the stool sample to show the tech. Upon opening the bag, there were literally hundreds of tiny white worms crawling through the stool and some other black insects. The tech said she hadn't noticed those.  Another 30 minutes later the tech came back to say it was a tape worm and they can only get that by ingesting fleas likely from the rabbit carcass. They told us we needed to treat our house for fleas and buy their medication to treat the dogs. They were disgusted with  me for not having her on flea prevention and I explained to them that our dog has a rare genetic condition that can cause kidney failure at any time so we only feed her organic dog food, I bathe her once a week and I brush her with a metal comb.  This has been working well for the past two years with no incident. They seemed surprised when I told them about the genetic condition despite it being clearly written in her file. Regardless, they had me put her on flea prevention and gave her de-worming medication. They told me I would have to have my house and outside property sprayed for fleas and that being pregnant I could be susceptible to an infection from these fleas.  We have yet to find a flea in our house or on our dogs.  The insects in her stool were not fleas as fleas do not forage on stool.  In fact, they didn't look like fleas at all and certainly don't jump as fleas do. When I spoke with the office manager she said the tech denied everything and they never would have let us leave the office despite the negative result they got on the worm test even though they told me I could go.  When she brought the stool sample back into the exam room it appeared that the bag had not even been opened and the knot I had tied was still intact. They did not give my dog a thorough examination, did not take her weight or temperature and did not even look at my other dog who I also brought in just in case. Yet when we left they had charged me for a full exam, three different types of medication and two types of worm screen for both dogs for a total of $330. We had our house sprayed immediately and gave the dogs their medication. Well, our dogs still have these worms and we are on our way to a new vet. I have lost all confidence with this practice. Do not take your pets here, they depend on their clients being ignorant and they overcharge at an insane rate. We could have infected other dogs and gotten ourselves sick as well if I had believed what they said. This is not the first time we were disappointed with this practice but this is the first time we thought the negligence was too serious to dismiss. Read Less

On Saturday, August 2, I called them to see if I could bring my puppy in, who I suspected had Kennel Cough. They informed me that they close at 1. I walked into the clinic at 1pm. They told me to watch her and bring her back on Monday at 7:30 am. I took my puppy to another Vet who saw her on Saturday and diagnosed her as having Kennel Cough. They said if I had waited until Monday, she'd probably have progressed into pneumonia. This people at this place care more about going home on a Saturday than actually caring for their patients. I had a contract with them since I purchased the dog from a place that contracts their care out to Ohio Drive Animal Hospital. Dr. Benjamin has been taking care of our cats and dogs for since his office opened over 10 years ago. He is a very kind and person and accomplished professional. He definitely saved the life of one of our cats with an innovative procedures. Some other vet's might have given up. But he didn't.The staff cares and knows our pets. I am generally not one to complain about services.  I tend to understand that small mistakes are made and I understand that.  However, with that being said, I strongly believe that Dr. Benjamin's negligence lead to my dog's early death.  We brought my 13 yr old (I know that's getting up there, but he was relatively healthy) Shih tzu in for some back/arthritis issues.  Dr. Benjamin wanted to put him on Prednisone.  He ran some bloodwork and came back and said that he could be on the medicine, no problem.  My dog immediately had a severe reaction.  Vomiting/Diarrhea in amounts that would alarm anyone.  So, we took him back.  Instead of retesting his bloodwork, Dr. Benjamin just tried to mask the issue with anti-nausea meds.  After another two days of diarrhea/vomiting/convulsing uncontrollably, we had to take him to another vet.  This vet retested his blood to find that his kidneys were shutting down and his blood was toxic beyond what the charts could even show.  7 days later we had to put him down.  His kidneys were starting to recover, but his stomach and gastrointestinal tract could not.  He developed bleeding ulcers from his refusal to eat (due to the nausea).  He was in severe pain, and we had no choice.At the very least, I hope this is a warning to avoid Prednisone for your pet at all costs and to avoid a doctor that misses such severe signs of trouble. Was given a seriously upcharged estimate for vaccinations & boosters only to discover some were not necessary because she'd already been given the necessary number of doses(this was pointed out by a different vet) based on paperwork I was given at time of puppy purchase with vaccines that had already been given. Was also given a quote for what is being labeled as a "free" spay. When I get a quote of over $200, not free. Read Less

Dr. Benjamin and his staff are awesome! They have been taking care of my two dogs for the last two and a half years since I first got them as puppies. He's always taken time to ask how they are doing, how our family is doing, and do we have any questions. We recently had one of our dog's tear her ACL (a game of fetch gone wrong). She needed surgery. He confirmed the emergency vet's diagnosis and gave us two options utilizing specialists for the surgery. He helped us get her fixed with our finances in mind. She was a tough patient to get healed and he has stood by us every step of the way. These folks LOVE animals, are passionate about their jobs and the care they give. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone who is looking for a doctor to care and heal the members of their families they love! Read Less

In my opinion there is no one better.  Dr. B and his staff are what makes this place different from other vets offices as the team at Ohio Drive is very friendly and curtious, and have always provided the highest level of care to every dog that I have brought in.   I wouldnt take my dogs anywhere else.
