We were directed to a VCA hospital when we adopted our heartworm positive dog Santos from the SPCA. I thought I would have his treatment there and then go back to our usual vet, but we have made the switch permanent. Our little guy is excited to go to VCA Animal Care, his body language when he leaves shows he was not stressed and has a good time when boarded for our vacations. I drive out of my way to come here, and it's 100% worth it knowing he is loved on and receiving excellent care from employees who really have an affection for the animals. Read Less

The VCA family is amazing!! They have such a personal relationship with every dog and their owner! We are new puppy owners and they have answered every little question regarding our little guy and had so much kindness and patience with us. They even sent us pictures when we were out of town! Amazing experience!!!! We just moved to the plano from the Keller area and was upset having to leave my other vet office. But walking into this office made me incredibly happy. Filling out the paper work was a breeze. All electronic. I didn't even have to sit In the waiting room. Right as I walked in, I was directed to one of the ops with my boy. The Dr came in soon afterwards and gave otto a full exam. We came in with the free exam, I really just needed ottos prescription, and thought walking in, they would think, "oh, she just wants this exam done because it's free." NOT AT ALL! everyone was welcoming, the Dr praised my dog on how well and healthy he was, and answered questions for me on the myths I've heard. She got the prescription he was on, and wrote it for me with no problems. They never pushed me for money, they suggested me to get some things done for otto, but never once pushed me about it Because of this amazing first time experience, I will be returning for ottos exams and I trust the doctor to do his neutering now. I am so happy I found a clinic that is just perfect all around. 5 stars doesn't justify the experience I had with them. Read Less

I have been bringing my elderly chihuahua to this vet for nearly 2 years and I absolutely love the staff and treatment here! So heartfelt and welcoming - I never have any issues and they always treat my dog with respect and love! I have used their kennel services for nearly as long and these are great too! My dog loves staying with them and I always feel relaxed knowing she is safe there. Their prices are completely fair and while it can be hard (especially with an older pet), I respect the prices I pay because it goes to a great office and staff salaries! Disappointed!! I 'had' been a VCA Animal Care Hosp. for over 5 years!! The last time I took my dog to get groomed, they lied to me. When I dropped my pet off for a previously scheduled appt., I unexpectedly got called into work. When I dropped my pet off I told the receptionist of my predicament. I told her that I wouldn't be off until 5 pm and since I knew that they closed at 6 pm I wanted to make sure that there wasn't a problem later. Autumn told me, "oh don't worry, if you're here by 6 then we will leave him in here w/the door open so that u can get him, or in the back in the fence for u!!" I called several times while enroute when I got off, my last call to Autumn was when I exited GWBush tollway at Preston. When I got to the VCA hosp at approx. 6:15 pm, Autumn was inside w/the door locked playing possum not answering the door, and had my pet locked up in a cage in the back! I waited for someone to come out and called the police. When they came out they told me that I couldn't get my dog because they couldn't check me out! I could not believe how rude, and vulgar she was. I told her that I was not leaving there w/o my dog,so make the appropriate arrangements for my bill, i.e. e-mail it!! She declined to help me at all!!! Told me that he would have to stay there until the following day! Well, I persisted and Autumn finally called whoever she needed to call, which she could have done earlier....but, no!!! But when I tell u that I am not leaving here until I get my dog, then I am not leaving.... Needless to say I got my dog and paid the following morning via the phone. I spoke w/the office mgr and she was just as rude, and argumentative as the rest of her personnel. I had/have no intentions of ever visiting that place of business again. Not once did they tell me that if I were not there at a certain time that they were going to try and hold my dog hostage. Because I could have made other arrangements, but they were like....no problem!! Bunch of ignorant women!! Also, once while my dog was there getting groomed they advised me that he a seizure and no one could explain why??? Stay away!!! Read Less

I have been a client with VCA Animal Care Hospital for 10 years. Even after moving away from Plano, I continue to make a more than 28 mile round trip to bring my pets here despite other vet offices being closer to my home. The staff has always been nothing but professional, and they show genuine concern for me and my pets. For some reason the cats I adopt turn out to be special needs, and Doctor Rodeghier always works with me to select the best treatments and 'care packages' at the most cost effective price points. Veterinary care is not cheap to begin with, but I feel I get an excellent value based on the treatment and care that both my pets and I receive. Everyone here feels like family, and I wouldnt trust my pets with anyone else. Read Less

I worked as a veterinary technician for several years out of college, therefore I may be more particular than most. I found the front desk staff to be extremely friendly and efficient both on the phone and in person. I was a new client and would have expected the doctor to come in to the room, introduce herself and then shake my hand and say "nice to meet you". That's not what happened. Although the medical part of the visit was fine, I found her to be distracted and emotionless. I felt absolutely no warmth or empathy coming from her. I never went back, nor would I.
