Super Bowl Sunday this year, my boyfriend and I came home to find that my dog had eaten a huge chunk of chocolate cake that was left on the counter (covered mind you, and much higher than we thought our 9 year old border collie mix could reach)! After spending all night in the emergency pet hospital, we had to take her to Banfield so she could be monitored and have fluids and charcoal administered throughout the day. I cannot say enough great things about Dr. Metcalf and the Banfield staff! They really stepped up and took care of my baby that day. I was a little stressed out about the cost (especially since I spent almost $700 at the emergency clinic), but thankfully, Dr. Metcalf called me personally to let me know what the treatment plan was, as well as the cost, before doing anything. We were able to talk about what was necessary for that day, and what could wait until a later date, and we were able to get it down to an acceptable price. I was also very impressed that she called me throughout the day to keep me posted on her condition. A couple of days later, I took Ally back in for an internal organs functioning test, and was amused that not only did they remember her at check-in, but had also given her a nickname (Chocolate Cake Girl - not the most creative, but cute none-the-less). I got a chance to meet Dr. Metcalf in person, and she was just wonderful. Happy to report that all organs are functioning properly, and Ally is back to her happy, silly self! This was such a stressful event, and it would have been so much worse if she didn't receive the fantastic care that she did at Banfield! Read Less
