I've been bringing my pet to this location for 2+ years and customer service just keeps getting more terrible. I have to be the one to ask questions in order to get important answers and information. The front desk ladies work as if they would rather be else where and I don't ever feel like myself or my pet is fully welcome there. It's very disappointing because they used to be great before staff changed and changed. The front desk faces are the worst customer service out of the staff. The Doctors are incredible which I guess is all that matters but if we have to deal with the front desk first and majority of the time, they need to be a lot more nicer and informative about what's going on with my pet. Called to refill prescription, was told they don't refill orders over the phone to come in and place order and they would fill at that time. Walked in and ordered refill, paid for refill then had to wait well over 15 minutes. I was the only customer sitting in waiting area. Finally asked staff if you don't take phone refills and I'm the only one here getting a refill what is taking so long. Same girl that checked me out looked surprised to see me. (Sitting right in front of counter for 15 minutes) said she would go see. After another 5 minutes she emerges from the back with my order. If you don't take phone orders than why would it take so long? Really bad customer service. Read Less

i give them -10 starts. I have been taking my dog there for years on their wellness plan. He had a growth on his nose and for 2 years I was told not to worry about it, but i can always have it removed. It grew bigger so I went in to get it removed. the surgeon said it was to big for him to remove and I needed to go to heart of texas. turns out it was cancer!! 2+ out of 3. if they had taken the time to run the culture on it when it first appeared i would not be out $3,400 for the removal of it. secondly he was being seen for his eye sight. they put him on very expensive glaucoma drops and tried to tell me my dog was blind and needed to have his eyes removed. I argued with the vet, that while he had trouble seeing, he was not blind. I finally made an appointment with an eye doctor that confirmed that not only is he NOT blind he didn't have glaucoma and removing his eyes is not recommended because it would only make his situation worse. they put me on another eye drop and his sight and bulgey eye has tremendously improved. I canceled my insurance with them after the cancer diagnosis and I will NEVER let them touch another pet of mine. Read Less

Wish I could give 0 stars. I have been taking my min pin to The Round Rock location for several years.  Some visits go okay and some not so good.  Never get to know a vet and they never get to know your pet. Vets change constantly. Often do not have enough vets on duty to see my dog.   I recently called because he was very ill and was told they did not have opening.  Suggested I take him to Heart of Texas. Finally offered drop off. We already knew he had kidney, liver and heart disease.  After spending $350 (plus wellness plan monthly payments) we still did not know why he was waking us up screaming in pain.  Prescribed heart medicine and diuretic.  Took him to a different vet and paid over $300 for ultrasound. He quickly developed pancreatis and was given medication for nausea and shot of fluids.  I took him to Heart of Texas 24 hour hospital for more fluids.  Doctor there felt there was a better heart medicine he could have been given and diuretic was not good idea considering his kidney disease. Both medicines process through the kidneys.  Called Banfield for follow up labs, no opening.  It didn't matter after all because after giving fluids his little heart couldn't take it and we had to let him go.  I would have done anything for him and don't care that I spent over $2000 trying to save his life. This was my baby for 15 years and my heart is broken.  My day started and ended with him.  When I called to cancel the wellness plan I was told I would have to pay over $200 more to cancel.  This is for services provided.  Guess they mean poor services.  I cannot believe they are charging me this after I just lost my baby.  This is their compassion. Will never use Banfield again. DON'T GET TRAPPED INTO A WELLNESS PLAN!!! Read Less

The front desk staff members--Di, Lauren, Rachel--were as friendly and helpful as possible.  I had an appointment for my male feline who had a fever.  I was greeted by the vet assistant, Sophia, who was gracious and explained everything very well.  Dr. Krisko, DVM, was thorough and made several different treatment suggestions.  They all involved IV treatment but we settled on IV fluid inserted under Pudge's skin.  I did not have to leave him overnight which was great.  All costs were explained and I was given choices.  I purchased Optimum Wellness Plan for Pudge which will help me should he need additional treatment for the next year.  I read excellent reviews about the Banfield Pet Hospital and I agree that it is well-organized, the price is right and treatment plans are explained in full.  Happily, Pudge began to perk up while he was still at Banfield and he continues to improve by the hour.  I plan to return to Banfield.  Thanks Read Less

Banfield has been a great experience and I'm very thankful for the patience that all of the staff members have practiced with my puppy and me. My puppy (6 weeks) was having some pretty bad skin issues and I took her into a different vet who told me it wasn't anything to worry about. A couple of days later it started to get worse, so I decided to get her into Banfield. Thankfully I did. We were able to see a vet right away! I love that I can schedule appointments so quickly. Unfortunately, her skin condition took a couple of guesses to get it completely correct, but the doctors were so understanding of my concern, never turned me away when I had questions. (Trust me, I had a lot of them.) Now after all this mess my puppy is on the way to a clean bill of health and I couldn't be happier! And for those of you interested, the Banfield Plans (especially the puppy plan) are amazing! I have saved a lot of money already because of the plan.I'm so thankful for the doctors and staff in general, Koda thanks you guys too! Read Less

We called ahead to two different locations and specifically explained we wanted to bring our dog in to have her anal sacs expressed on the weekend while her regular vet was closed.  We were told to come to walk in hours.  When we arrived, Banfield insisted on proof of our dog's rabies vaccination (we didn't have it handy and our regular vet's office wasn't open to help verify). This was the first anyone mentioned about the requirement for proof of vaccination despite our two calls to request an appointment.  They offered to re-vaccinate our pup...for a fee of course.  Very disappointing. I take my three dogs here, and the price and quality are good. I see Dr. Gonzalez, and my dogs actually like him. He was able to diagnose my dog's skin condition quickly. My dog is now much better, because of Dr. G and the vet techs. Unfortunately, the times I have seen other doctors have not been consistent. I'm assuming this is an issue when seeing different doctors. I'm told different things from each person, which can be very annoying. I was told getting my dogs medicine is as simple as a phone call, but it has been days of calls and one visit. I still don't have my dog's medicine. I'm not sure who is to blame here, but I do know it needs to be dealt with. Especially when a pet depends on his medication to be healthy. Read Less

If you just need to get shots for a new puppy or rescue then this makes sense. If you're looking for real veterinary services go find a real vet and pay the higher cost. We've purchased wellness plans for both of our dogs through Banfield and they do a very satisfactory job. However when faced with serious health issues I do not recommend Banfield. They diagnosed our 9 yr old dog with hip dysplasia, but we were not convinced. After taking him to a real vet it became quite apparent he had cancer in his knee. It's obvious to me that the company is in it for the money, but the vet techs on staff do a great job working with the animals. Read Less

After moving here a couple of years ago , we used Banfield several times. So last week our 12 yr for and eye infection what we thought at least, and also had lost 4 lbs. ( she weighed 16 to begin with) .  The vet checked her out and confirmed . Also said  she had a heart murmur, but more importantly she needed her teeth cleaned and one horribly removed.   This was on a Friday. Over the weekend she kept going downhill. So come Monday I take her to another vet and they said she was in Liver an kidney failure , congestive heart failure AND a tumor in her lungs the size of  GOLF BALL !!! All Canfield wanted to do was put her under and pull her tooth and clean them . and said they weren't worried about the weight loss or the murmur . Needless to say , the other vet said there was nothing that could be done and we have to put her down.   NEVER will i go to petsmart  and Banfiend for anything ever again !!! Read Less

So so upset to the point of no return. I have now switched twice from the Pflugerville location to the round rock location and now we are at the Cedar Park location. Over a year ago we called into the Pflugerville location where we first purchased our wellness plan and started our vet care with our fist puppy elvis. The staff was rude as well as the vets there very rude. So my pup woke up one day throwing up and had digested blood in his stool. (Yes I work in the medical field) so I called and they were having surgery day so none of the vets were avaiable to treat that type of condition at that time.. I started crying thinking I was going to loose my dog.. so I contacted the Round rock location they said yes we have room bring him in now. We did the vet spent veery little time with us and took him back to be tested with what included in the wellness plan.. all results came back normal except blood in stool. She then said we are calling the mobile ultrasound service stat .. with out even to our our knowledge of what the costing was and again not covered in the plan the sonogram results were negative..($300) and she gave fluid under the neck some nasua meds. And sent us home no follow up care needed he will have to be on Royal CANANINE LOW FAT the rest of his life.. took him several weeks of care at home he finally bounced back.. then 3 moths later same symptoms. Call they get him in and the vet told me I was OVER REACTING. .. OVER REACTING and she gave us a diagnosis of pancrititis and colitis assuming to shut us up .. I pay my Monthly fees for my wellness plan on top od thay and now spending close to $1200 I'm over reacting.. so now here we are about 6 Months later same symptoms. Called round rock location and they directed me to call the Cedar Park location due to they were not able to see a critical care animal at this time. I called and cedar park got him right in. We wait and the vet comes out and asks where we had ever gotten a diagnosis for pancrititis and colitis he said there was no documentation in the chart that tests were ever ran for these symptoms he said the prior vet at the round rock location basically self diagnosed him. They had him all day ran tests all came back normal but the pancritiic test was elevated and not covered or discounted with in the plan.. he apologised for the last vets negligence for not testing for this sounded like she was busy and push you out as fast as possible.. as of now I'm home doing further care and have a follow up saturday.. but, also I asked for all price quotes and was never told I would get charged for a ER fee witch I paid no questions asked but also asked for anything over a certain amount to call prior to administering.. walked out $100 more than I was told and also never received calls on updates of his health. I just feel like I've gotten the run around and there were Conners cut here and now spending thousands of dollars at your establishment. Very usetting that in November I'll be CX his wellness plan and might neve return unless I get the service I pay for and should recieve and be respected. I would love to just have my pet healthy and use your services for years to come but, my best friend is worth more to me than to continue to pay for let's just say not up to par. Customer service nor care. I have lupus and sever anxiety and he is my service dog. Please make this right and hear me out on this. Thank you. Read Less

I was also told that the plan I paid for was mostly for "wellness" and didn't really cover their Emergency Services. Staff was rude and unprofessional. Had to take the cat to a private ER and he wound up staying the whole day due to his illness. The vet that did see him was appalled at the fact that Banfield wouldn't even offer to check the cat to see if he was stable enough to be dropped off for a later exam. When I spoke to someone on Sunday about canceling my plan I got a very cold reply and was told to call a number as they don't handle it in the hospitals. Super Bowl Sunday this year, my boyfriend and I came home to find that my dog had eaten a huge chunk of chocolate cake that was left on the counter (covered mind you, and much higher than we thought our 9 year old border collie mix could reach)!  After spending all night in the emergency pet hospital, we had to take her to Banfield so she could be monitored and have fluids and charcoal administered throughout the day.  I cannot say enough great things about Dr. Metcalf and the Banfield staff!  They really stepped up and took care of my baby that day.  I was a little stressed out about the cost (especially since I spent almost $700 at the emergency clinic), but thankfully, Dr. Metcalf called me personally to let me know what the treatment plan was, as well as the cost, before doing anything.  We were able to talk about what was necessary for that day, and what could wait until a later date, and we were able to get it down to an acceptable price.  I was also very impressed that she called me throughout the day to keep me posted on her condition.  A couple of days later, I took Ally back in for an internal organs functioning test, and was amused that not only did they remember her at check-in, but had also given her a nickname (Chocolate Cake Girl - not the most creative, but cute none-the-less).  I got a chance to meet Dr. Metcalf in person, and she was just wonderful.  Happy to report that all organs are functioning properly, and Ally is back to her happy, silly self!  This was such a stressful event, and it would have been so much worse if she didn't receive the fantastic care that she did at Banfield! iF they have a rank of zero stars I would have given then that. I had been a customer for almost 13 years. tHey failed my dog last week. Took him because he was not feeling well. We suspected he ate something.First, left my cell phone number for them to contact, and they told me they will call me at noon to confirm pick up. They called my house, which obviously nobody picked up the phone. I had to call at 4:00 pm to check if they were ready.Second, they completely misdiagnose my dog. When Dr. Moon came and talked to me I ,entitled my dog was not ok, he looked worse and shaky. She said that he was nervous. oK, I know my dog, and clearly he was not ok and I had to run at night to the ER, were he was finally diagnosed with meningitis. wHat did Banfield did with my pet for 6 hrs, not sure. Certainly they are not diagnosing correctly. Because they send me a laxative for his suspected issue. If someone in corporate wants to speak with me they can reach out, I can give you some more information. But I will never use them again. Very disappointed in my experience with this location. My dogs have been going to Banfield locations for almost three years. I took them for a drop off appointment for a comprehensive exam. Upon completion of the exam we asked them about issues that had been marked on the check in sheet (dry skin). The woman looked puzzled and went back to talk to the doctor. The doctor had not seen the dogs for the itching and then wrote a prescription for over the counter benadryl because she said that it must have been related to seasonal allergies (it was on a post it note might I add). I asked them were there any other issues and they said no. When I got home I read the sheet of the exams and they said that they needed to see my dog again in a month (which was not communicated to me) they also said that my dog was over weight because he gained 4 lbs (he went from 72-76 lbs he's a lab and is still within normal range for a lab and is definately not over weight). the paper also stated that his anal glands needed to be re expressed in a month because they were impacted and could cause an abcess (which was also not communicated to me). They also didn't give one of the vaccines. I was very diasppointed because usually the doctor comes out and talks to me about the dogs at other locations after completion of the exam. If there were issues it should have been communicated to me. My dogs definitely will not be back to this location because they can't seem to communicate with the dog owners. I didn't have to wait long and I was in and out. We have been with Banfield for almost 2 years and I have been pretty happy with everything. Samuel's needs have been basic and routine. Since we've moved around so much it's been so convenient to update and change home hospitals. I've also had Samuel enrolled in the wellness plan which has been such a great budget helper for me. I pay a monthly fee that's automatically deducted from my account. It's been so easy and helpful and when I take him in for visits I just pay the extra for whatever is not included. Samuel's first visit to this place will be at the beginning of February so I will defintely write an update after our visit. Read Less

They almost caused my dog to expire by vaccinating him without my authorization and knowing, through medical records, that he was allergic. Then they wouldn't let me out of their so-called wellness plan. I would never take my dog there again. They sent me to a collection agency- I'm not going to pay. I think it's absurd for them to ask me to pay them after what they've done. Banfield accepted fault, they issued me a refund for the emergency vet bills due to their negligence. They shouldn't be allowed to practice veternary medicine. Read Less

This Banifield closed down and the last few weeks they were operating the vet was missing... on vacation... sick... so we spent like 3 weeks trying to come. Then, they were only open for weekend hours... well I work on the weekend and when I agreed to pay 30/month with them they had weekday hours. I tried to be transfered to another Banifield but in order to do that I would have to restart my contract with them... it was ridiculuous. The ""Banifield manager of Austin"" who I forget her name was really not helpful and she had an attitude... as if I'm expected to know their policies. She would say things like ""that is what I was trying to explain to you if you had just listened""... when in reality all I wanted was corporates number to make a formal complaint. Read Less

Finally asked staff if you don't take phone refills and I'm the only one here getting a refill what is taking so long. Same girl that checked me out looked surprised to see me. i give them -10 starts.

Read Less

This location is not up to the caliber of other banfield locations. OVERALL BAD EXPERIENCE Read Less

They do a good job here. Follow up calls to check on my pet, easy scheduling, and kind and caring doctors. My poodle gets into all kinds of trouble. He is about 2 years old and is often getting sprains, cuts, and other injuries just from being an active young dog. We can always count on the team here to help us! Dr. Gonzalez is great, and all of the other doctors have been attentive and kind. For even a high maintenance pet, this is a good choice.Read Less

I haven't actually had a full visit with Samuel my dog but I've had  few interactions with the staff and they have all been friendly and nice. Once I had to get my pup's records transferred to their location since this would be our new home hospital. The gentleman that helped us was so nice and thorough. We even set up an appointment for Samuel's annual wellness exam renewal check up. A second time was to pick up some Trifexis for Samuel. Jo was so nice and helpful.

Read Less
