I've been taking my two boys to Dr. Kniffin for about 8 years now, and have been very pleased with the genuine care that they provide at Hwy 79 Animal Clinic. I have a pit mix and a min pin chihuahua mix, and they're so good to both of them. My pit is a gentle guy, and they treat him with much respect. The chihuahua baby gets a bit nervous, and they show him such love and comfort at his appointments. Hubs usually brings them in, and I always hear good things about their visit. The staff seems to enjoy their job, as they've all been there the entire time we've been patients. All around, they're a solid team that is very friendly! My parents took all our pets here growing up and so when I got a dog I took her here. The staff is friendly and always willing to help. They will answer questions at anytime and offer suggestions before having to take the dog in. Read Less

I can't recommend Dr. Kniffin highly enough. We've taken two of our dogs here, and every experience we've had has been pleasant and surprisingly affordable (for a vet, mind you). I will say that the the front desk, although good and far from incompetent, is not usually as warm/welcoming as other vets we've visited in the past. A person could get a similar vibe from Dr. Kniffin, depending on your interactions with him. With that in mind, what has been consistent from the first time we've gone in is how knowledgeable and considerate Dr. Kniffin is. There have been TWO times that he recommended foregoing X-rays or more expensive testing for the time being, although many vets would have happily ordered diagnostics from the start, to see if the issue resolved on its own. It did on both occasions, and our visits were under $100 each time thanks to Dr. Kniffin being so mindful of his patients and their owners. We've highly recommended Highway 79 Animal Clinic to many friends and neighbors in the area, and will continue taking our furry family members there as long as they keep this up. Read Less

Highly recommended.  I've taken my pets to Banfield for the past 7 years.  But, during my last few visits, I was disappointed with Banfield's service. I decided to break away and found Dr. Kniffin.  So far, I've had only one visit but the service was outstanding and the cost was reasonable.  Most importantly, I was provided with good advice from a competent vet.  In the future, I will be taking my pets to see Dr. Kniffin.  No more Banfield. Dr. Kniffin and his staff have been our vet for 5 yrs this month. First was Buddy, our Weimaraner, who is 5 yrs old. Dr. Kniffin was so kind and gentle. Great bedside manner! We also have 2 cats and he has wonderful with them! We wouldn't take our pets to anyone else.Read Less

As a disclaimer, I've only been to this place once.  And it was unfortunately to have my beloved pooch put to sleep.I'm not sure how we ended up here, as I normally took him elsewhere.  But when my sister gave us a ride there, I think she thought it was more of an emergency, needing fast treatment, and he'd be coming back home with me.  I, after spending the day with him, knew this was the end of the line for him.Anyway, the staff here was very kind and reassuring, explaining the procedure to us, as I had never had to do this before.  We were given the option of being there for the whole thing of waiting outside.  I was NOT about to leave him there alone, so I stayed.  It was a devastating blow to have your furry companion of 14 years die, but it was time.  When I make the decision to get a another fur-baby, this place will be on my list of vets to try. The care my dog received was wonderful! The staff and doctor were very caring and loving toward her during the blood draw and shots. I was extremely impressed by them! And the cost for care is amazingly reasonable. I used to take my dog to one of those large chain animal clinics, but I now know that I don't have to pay an arm and a leg to get exceptional care for my dog. Do not bring animals here if money is at all any kind of issue for you. Yes, it's very expensive. Aside from that, they will tell you things you need to do (buy) that are not required. As a first time dog owner, I took my new dog here because it was the closest to my house. They said she had some serious problems, that would cost $300-$500 a month for at least 2 months. I had to take her back to the Williamson County Humane Society as I could not afford everything she "needed". The Humane vets and animal caretakers there told me she just had a very common problem, that would be cured with very little effort. No where near the nightmare this vet had told me. Unfortunately, the damage was done and I had to surrender her anyway...but if I had gone to another vet that could have cured her correctly, I'd still have my dog.Read Less
