I took my dog to Round Rock Animal Hospitol for a second opinion. They spent so much time with my sweet Cydon (my 9 year old Argentinian Mastiff). They discovered that day that he had bone cancer and 1 week later I had to put him down. I have since transfered all of my other dog (Johnny's - 11 year old Lab/Retreiver) paperwork to them and am so thankkful for their caring staff and my dog's wonderful doctor Erika Neeley. Dr. Neeley expained everything to us in total detail and does follow up calls and she's just wonderful - she spent so much time with us. The front desk staff are wonderful. I know Johnny is in good hands!! I highly recommend Round Rock Animal Hospitol and I know if there's anything going on with Johnny that they will do everything they can to take care of him and find the problem. this place is so great! we moved here from california and needed to update my little charlie's shots. everyone here was very friendly, and i they priced accordingly. not shady like petsmart or some vet's ive been to throughout the years where they charge outrageous prices. they also remembered us when we came back for shot updates. i hope i don't have to go back soon (meaning i hope my little charlie stays healthy) but if something happened i'd trust that this place would take great care of him. Staff is very nice, receptionists very friendly as well. Only issue is my dog randomly started growling and barking, and was upset when she was checking him out and she got extremely scared and shaken and backed against the wall and practically ran out. My dog has never acted this way before. Her persona stuck in the room and was very uncomfortable, making it hard for my dog to calm down at all and so my dog didn't get to get checked out. We recently moved to Round Rock,TX and our dog broke his foot. We searched for a clinic where he could be seen quickly. I called around to a few clinics, and when I called Round Rock Animal Clinic they were friendly, professional and showed real concern about my dog. I was able to make an appointment and bring him shortly after. Throughout each appointment, the staff and vet Dr. Hocher have been personable, caring and professional. I didn't think that I would be able to find a great vet clinic so quickly after moving to the Round Rock area, but this clinic has become our go to vet office for both our dogs. Read Less

We were referred here when our normally very healthy dog started having trouble breathing. They were able to see us right away. They were very caring when they let you us know our sweet boy had cancer. In our grief we wanted to have more tests done to be 1000% certain. They were amazing enough to put our guys best interests first and said they didn't feel comfortable doing it because he wasn't going to make it no matter what. They were very kind as I made a big sobbing scene in their lobby. I appreciate everything they did for Reggie and us. We took him home and used the compassionate vet (another AMAZING business.) to help him pass. Round Rock Animal hospital sent us a card comforting us on our loss. They aren't our normal vet but they treated us like a very important client and put the animals best interests ahead of the money they could have made off tests. We took our baby in for a dental cleaning as well as some extractions. The building was spotless and the staff were wonderful. The doctor even took the time to call during surgery and explain what needed to be done and to get permission to continue.  She is recovering very well. Dr. Hocher and his staff are compassionate with pets and owners. They are smart and professional and never judgmental. They don't push for unnecessary medications or procedures but find actual solutions and they answer all your questions. They are so well organized, the wait to be seen is very short. I just brought my dog here for the first time as a follow up from the ER vet. I was impressed by how nice the clinic was and how knowledgable the staff was. I called Monday and was able to get an appointment for the next day and the office ladies were great. The vet was wonderful and ran some tests and got him on the right medications straight away. She didn't try to push anything and listened to my concerns. He also needed to renew some vaccinations but she said she wanted to let him heal from this first, which I appreciated. All of the charges were fair prices, and they clipped his nails for free. Due to waiting on results from tests I was here for a while, but they made sure to check on us and ask if we had questions multiple times. I was very pleased with the care he received today! I had to make the phone call that no pet owner ever wants to make yesterday (to schedule to euthanize our 11 year old dog). I've been through this process many years before (somewhere else), and frankly, the other experience was far from great. The RR Animal Hospital staff was compassionate, understanding, and so polite through the whole process.Now, the reason I'm writing this 5-star review is because our dog was such an important part of our lives, and I didn't want him to suffer. I was given a blanket to lay with my dog through the evolution, which was honestly, the most peaceful, struggle-free process I could have imagined. He just went to sleep. I'm going to miss him terribly, but the around Rock Animal Hospital gets my highest regards for making this as painless as possible. This is the ONLY place that I take my fur babies to for vet care.  Everyone involved in this practice is super nice, courteous, compassionate and respectful. We have been going to RRAH for nearly 10 years now (since we moved to Austin area) and I have never had the level of care anywhere else than here. The doctors are all wonderful and thorough but never do tests or labs just for the sake of it. And every time we have lost one of our babies, they send us a sweet card.  RRAH is simply the best!!! I brought in my first pet in way back in February of 2003. She was a stray Golden Retriever we named Hanna. They said she was around 2 years old, maybe less. She tested positive for hartworms and hadn't been spayed. They took good care of all her needs and I'm happy to report that Hanna is still with us today, very happy and healthy at the ripe old age of 15!! We have several more rescue cats and dogs. I drive in from Georgetown TX. It's a bit of a drive but I won't bring my animals anywhere else. None of the staff ever leave, everyone seams to love their job and it shows in the way they care for our pets. Read Less

This is the best vet's office I've ever visited. The front desk staff and vet tech were so friendly and accommodating, and made me feel immediately at ease (I always get anxious about doctor's offices, for me or for my pets). Dr. DeCiero was so wonderful, and she gave us hope for the improvement of our dog's condition that we didn't previously have. The visit was also affordable and they were understanding of our financial predicament and prescribed a generic medication. I brought my 2 dogs (a 5 year old bulldog and 2 year old Boston Terrier) here to be fixed and to have their vaccinations done this week. I was very concerned about finding a place that would take excellent care of my boys and to avoid post-surgical complications with these breeds - Round Rock Animal Hospital was an excellent choice.I was called right after surgery and given a very detailed and reassuring update on how things went. I called back later in the day to check on things, and they welcomed me to call again before closing hours if I wanted. It was great having my concerns met with such thoughtfulness! Edie at the front desk was so nice. This is one of the few places that will keep your pet overnight for observation, which is great. I picked them up today expecting them to be sick and lethargic - not at all! They were just as hyper and waggy-tailed as ever! As a preface, let me say that my husband and I tend to foster and adopt health-challenged dogs that require more care and more difficult diagnoses than just an annual checkup. We've taken medical foster dogs to various vets as dictated by the foster group. Our personal pets have had thyroid problems, cancer, heart failure, ACL tear, bad teeth, unbelievably severe allergies--I could probably go on for a while. Suffice it to say, we take vet care seriously, and we know what makes a good, bad, or "okay" vet.So it should mean a lot when I tell you that we have taken our personal pets to Dr. Hocher at RRAH for 15 years, and I can't imagine taking our pets anywhere else.Dr. Hocher investigates thoroughly when we have a concern, consults with specialists when necessary, and gives sound recommendations and diagnoses. He is usually able to present us with multiple treatment options, is honest about their cost and realistic about probability of success. Dr. Hocher is willing to go the distance if we opt to pursue a particular treatment, but nonjudgmental if we decide not to. If he doesn't know an answer, he researches, and he gets back to me. And he gets back to me promptly, within a day or two.When delivering serious and sad diagnoses--which he has had to do for us several times over the years, as would anyone who has been with our pets from beginning to end--Dr. Hocher is very caring, but also very factual, which I appreciate. My husband and I have had to make some difficult end-of-life decisions, but Dr. Hocher supported us and provided us with knowledge so that I have never questioned my decision afterward.Other reasons I love RRAH: The office staff is friendly, caring, and cheerful. Some of the long-time staff recognize my voice on the phone. The vet techs show a lot of love for the pets that come in. Dr Johnston is amazing, she is so kind and loving towards my baby. Will answer as many questions as I want. I'm so glad I found this place and her. The staff is great as well and very helpful especially when it comes to dealing with our insurance. Everyone remembers us and says hi to my baby boy,I love the amount of love they truly have for animals. He got fixed here and they did nothing but meet my expectations with the staff calling me letting me know how he did and then getting a call from our doctor too. My retriever had torn her ACL requiring immediate surgery this spring.  Today she is pain free and running like she's young again.  The team did an outstanding job from start to finish.  My littlest dog had eaten medication from a guest's purse after gnawing his way through the child proof bottle.  This team once again handled the situation perfectly, providing care and observation.  He's alive, though still a little too curious for his own good.A+ Read Less

I was thoroughly impressed by this vet.  Not that I've had a ton of bad experience at vets, but I've never met one like Dr. Sarah Johnston.  She was attentive, helpful, and caring; all great signs of a top notch vet.  The cat that I was taking in had a lot of issues, but Dr. Johnston provided a lot of insight into the problems we were encountering and gave us plenty of material to fix the situation. It was exactly what I'd expect from a top notch vet.The office staff was also incredibly friendly.  After our cat was howling after a vaccination, they showed great concern even after we reassured them that she was just a big baby.  It was wonderful to have such a great team up front the communicate with.  The prices were very reasonable as well.  Needless to say, I will not hesitate to take my animals to Round Rock Animal Hospital whenever I have pet problems. I cannot say enough good things about this practice!I'm a new mom, and have a hard time keeping it together. Between me rescheduling my appointment about FIVE times due to various issues, the staff were always SO understanding and accommodating! Edie rocks!!!!I took my little wiener dog, Allie, for her checkup and shots. Our vet tech, Stacy, was so nice and gentle with Allie. Dr. Johnston was very engaging and sweet with Allie. At the end of the visit, Stacy actually carried Allie out to my car because I had my hands full with the baby in his stroller. You cannot find better customer service than that. I left Round Rock Animal Hospital feeling like I had found a new part of my family that I'd never met before. I have a 7 month old puppy and have taken her here 3-4 times for her shots, to get more trifexis (heart/flea medicine), and most recently to get her spayed. I have nothing but positive things to say. The office isn't overly fancy or anything but the people are great. The ladies behind the counter are always friendly and happy and willing to answer the million questions I always ask since this is the first dog I've raised w/o any help. The veterinary assistants and Vet are all friendly to me and sweet to my dog. My dog actually gets excited when we get there now like when we get to the dog park or the lake, which still amazes me. Also, there are hardly ever any other people/animals waiting which makes for a smoother experience; I think twice I was the only one, there was one other once, and two another time.The last thing I'll mention is that I like how they offered to text me after my dog got out of surgery. I was obviously glad to hear she was okay and appreciated that they have the text system; I think its just a cricket phone but who cares as it was very convenient for me at work. I wouldn't have any hesitation recommending them to anyone based on my experiences thus far. Read Less

Timely and urgent care for your pet, and good expertise. Be prepared to pay out of pocket some good money if you plan on getting your pet diagnosed there. I would recommend only taking your pet there if he or she is in critical condition or needs medical attention immensely. Otherwise, see your pet's primary physician. Read Less

I called the other day to try and get my cat an appointment. I was told they did not have time to see me and that I could take him to Emergency. I asked if I could just drop him off and come back later in the day. Again they said no not at all. I had to go to work and I thought it was important that my cat needed attention.
