Okay. This review is meant to be both a warning and a bit of advice for the animal owner. I grew up in Rowlett, and the only Vet clinic my family would go to is this one. We have taken our animals to see Dr. Jung and Dr. Elton for as long as I can remember. The reason is the same as others have mentioned, he is really affordable, realistic, and doesn't beat around the bush with treatments, something that is quite refreshing. However, I can not tout this clinic any longer, and will not return. There has always been something that bothered me about the place, and what that issue is has to do with Dr. Jung's lack of a computer in his office. Decades worth of patient and family info is kept on index cards that the doctors just add to and staple another card to once full. I have had my animals information placed on other animal owners cards, and I am assuming vice versa. I have had the wrong name written on a card, I had the name Kim Smith placed on my card. I am a male. A male not named Kim Smith. The lack of an accurate filling system has always bothered me, but it hasn't ever lead to a more disturbing feeling until recently. Pause right here and follow with me.A couple weeks ago, I took my dog in to see the good doctors. He had recently falling lame and I wanted to see what we could do to get him back to as close to normal as possible. I saw Dr. Elton. She took a couple minutes, felt his back hips and legs, told me she thought he had hip dysplasia and prescribed meds. I followed her advice, noticed a stark change in my dog over the next couple of days, and then returned to see Dr. Elton. This time she took a couple x rays, and told me that he had spondylosis and that there was no cure but to put my dog down. He is 8 years old, a boxer, and other than the physical ailment, he is of sound mind, healthy heart and lungs, and not ready to die. I asked her if there was anything else, she offered zero options, aside from death or feeding him pills till his liver and kidneys go out. I decided to seek another opinion. I visited a clinic in nearby Sunnyvalle, and immediately saw a stark contrast between the level of knowledge and care. The vet here told me that she wouldn't even think of putting the dog down, and that we should see a neurologist for all of our options. I did, and we found out that the dog had an infection that is easily treated with meds, and currently my dog is improving and should be able to come home in a couple of days. I asked the neurologist if the infection was life threatening, he told me only if we had let it fester much longer than we did. I thought about Dr. Jung's office and lack of computer. The man doesn't have a computer, so what made me believe that he was up to date on treatment options and the foremost medical advances. You can ask him and he will tell you that he is ready to give it all up. This doctor has fallen into a rut where his options are wait and see or death. After this ordeal, I now wonder about the pets we had in the past that were diagnosed as terminal, if they were really that at all. I also wonder how many pets have been put down needlessly in the past. He is a nice person, and he is realistic, but for quality of care and up to date medical knowledge and practices, he is so behind the times, that I personally will never trust him or his associates again with the are of my animals. For those that have read this far, thank you, please heed my warning and go see for yourself. For those that blindly love Dr. Jung, message me and we can chat if you feel like we should, this is in no means indicative of you or your opinions. I just know that my dog would be dead right now from a horrible diagnosis and lack of treatment options given by the clinic. Read Less
