I brought my injured dog here because it is my vet. This "hospital" does not facilitate anything close to an emergency. I was told I had to leave and go to an Emergency Vet because they were closing and will not keep animals over night. I had to carry my 70lb dog back to my car while she was dripping blood all over on the way out. They didn't have the proper equipment to move her to get how much she weighed, no xrays were done to ensure that it was actually safe for her to travel again, her wounds weren't wrapped to try and slow the bleeding, and the majority of the staff was combative and completely unprofessional; resulting in an even more stressful and painful situation for a dog already in shock. I do not understand why a vet would EVER, want to transfer a dog because they do not want to work after hours, I have never had a vet behave this way! I moved to the Murphy area in 2013, and switched to this vet then. Had I known this vet did not care enough to work after hours, or have staff willing to monitor an animal over night if need be, I would have chosen a more responsible and well rounded facility. I am so unbelievably disappointed to have wasted time and risked my pets life by going here! Luckily we made it to another vet who was qualified and passionate enough to care for my dog properly. I'm not going into the details of my dogs death but after a post death examination I requested a private cremation.  I went to pick up my little guy's ashes and they were in the cedar box however, the cedar box was inside a doggie paw print gift bag with tissue stuffed in the top. Very sad to say because of them my cat had to be put down.   Be careful using them.  My cat had gotten fungal pneumonia.   Once we got him over that the veterinarian NEVER told us that he would have to be on fungal medicine for the rest of his life.   Took him in several times and not at an any time did they ever read is chart.  None of the staff ever said anything.  Once he started getting sick and not eating we took him in several times to see what was wrong.  Not until they took x-rays and showed them to me.....I AM THE ONE THAT SAID could it have anything to do with the fungal pneumonia he had.    At that point they said yes, it all makes since now.   Just before we had to put him down, I called and spoke with the vet one more time.  At that point she said that she currently has a cat with fungal pneumonia and that cat will be on medicine the rest of her life.   At that time it did not click with me until some time after he was gone.   THEY ARE THE MAIN REASON HE IS GONE.   You are his doctor.  You should have looked at his chart every time that I brought him in.  I would have had him on medication had a known.   Because he was not on medication, the fungus spread through his body causing all kinds of other issues.   I have just recently gotten my daughter a new kitten.   We are currently looking for a good vet.   I do believe I am going to be very paranode when I do see another vet.  I am going to way to many questions.   I hope this does not happen to anyone else.   Penny - Sachse, TX Read Less

It's terrible that I waited until now to write this review, but again it may be fitting. This vet clinic has taken care of all our dogs for over 15 years, keeping them healthy and making sure we knew of everything good for them. Sadly, this morning I had to call them about the unexpected illness and end of life for one of our old boys, and they were over the top kind, compassionate, and caring for both our feelings and for our Wizard. Our dog has frequented their dog daycare for over a year now with a standing 'every Wednesday' reservation. We were willing to overlook the lack of webcams since we liked the location and the large backyard space. We have decided to stop taking our dog here for various reasons.  I believe that this facility is too busy to want our business; the emails they send and the Facebook posts all have a tone of "we're too busy for your dog, don't come here".  I have been feeling this way for several months now because several times when I've dropped off my dog I'd be asked if I can change my days from Wednesday to another day, and over and over I've told them no.  Why in the world would you try and get a regular customer to change a recurring daycare day; this makes no business sense whatsoever.Also, I've been extremely disappointed over the last year as I would pick my dog up and hope that someone would tell me about my dog's day.  That has literally NEVER happened with the exception of last week when I had to ask for a report of my dog's daily activities while in their care.  I stated that the entire time my dog has frequented here, no one has ever taken the time to give me an update.  After asking, I was informed that my dog goes and lays in the corner or on the wall and doesn't socialize.  Why wasn't I told that a year ago?  To be fair, I was informed that my dog does enjoy the outside and loves playing with the ball.I also get the sense that the daycare portion of this business is run by kids.  As a client, we recently received an email from them that they were closing daycare for a week due to their staff returning to school for the season.  Huh?We recently received ANOTHER email from them, again changing their system.  This time I was optimistic since they were going to an online reservation system.  Their email specifically said "We now have our Online Doggie Daycare site up and rolling! This site will be used by you to register for the days your pet is participating in PlayCare. Soon you will receive no more texts, emails or calls unless we have your pet as registered and your pet is not with us by 9:00."  I created an account line per their instructions, I entered my recurring daycare days of Wednesday and figured I was all done.  My husband dropped her off this morning to a statement from the staff "oh we are really busy today, don't you get our confirmation emails, she's not confirmed.  Wednesdays are busy for us, can you change to Monday or Friday?"  This was the final straw for us!  My husband called concerned about the interaction with the front desk and I asked him to turn right around and pick our dog up and that enough was enough with them.  I phoned and spoke to the manager about my numerous complaints and stated that if they decide to fix their systems to feel free and call me back, but until then, my dog won't be back. Dr. Hoyner went above and beyond to help with my sweet little girl Peney who recently crossed the rainbow bridge. I have been a client since 2002. They have been a part of our family and been there for the joyous additions of pets and the sorrowful loss of pets. The staff is always friendly, helpful, and loving to our pets. The doctors have been technically superior, compassionate to both pets and humans, and consummate professionals. Nothing but great things to say about this place. After taking Toby, our golden retriever, here for 3 years, he was recently diagnosed with aggressive cancer. Dr. Hohner and staff were so patient and kind and really loved that dog like he was their own. We have been going to MRAH for about 5 years now. They really care about your pet. We use them to board our 3 dogs, for nail trims, annual checkups and any emergencies we have. The staff is friendly and very nice. When we had to bring in one of our dogs for an emergency, the staff recognized her (from boarding) and came up to tell her what a good dog she was. :) We love sending our dogs here for boarding, but call ahead during the holidays as they fill up fast! We tried out Murphy Road Animal Hospital's daycare in hopes of boarding our beloved dog. We left her for 3 hours to see how it would go. Not only did we get our dog back with scratches all over her stomach and inside her legs, but she was so thirsty, when she got home she drank until she made herself sick. Then continued to drink an additional half bowl of water. This was just 3 hours. I would hate to see the shape she would've been in had it been the entire day. Needless to say we will not be returning. Staff needs to be more attentive and limit the number of dogs in daycare. There were way too many for the size of the room. Read Less

Dr. Mobius and his fellow vets are extremely knowledgeable and compassionate. Their staff are both courteous, kind and efficient (Tech Angel cares for pets like they are her very own). They employ lasers for surgery (faster recoveries) and are using lasers on a cellular level to treat sprains, muscles pulls, and similar injuries to make your pets lives easier. Top notch place!
