The vets are very nice and knowledgeable. The vet techs are super sweet with my dogs. My dogs are very comfortable coming. I haven't had to bring my cats yet. There isn't a separate waiting area for the cats but everytime I have been, my dogs and I have not had to wait in the waiting area and are taking to an exam room immediately. Read Less

I had an emergency about 5 years ago with two of my pups that had parvo. New to the area, I stopped at a Pet Hospital in Salado, i was dirty from working in the fields, it was rainy, and I didn't have the money at the time to pay, but I would make payments and leave my drivers license, the secretary stepped away and talked to three people at the end of the hall, they all turned to look at me, but still the secretary returned to turn me away...i drove desperately along I35 and saw the Animal Medical of Salado sign. I pulled in and shared my situation, The doctor, without hesitation said, bring your dogs in and we can talk about finances later. I cried. After hydrating my pups, and giving me tools to save my dogs, I am incredibly grateful to them. They shared that they dont do it often, and only in emergencies, but they helped me with arranging my payments. Since then, I have established my farm with chickens, pigs and goats. I have a crew of 12 cattle dogs, and they all go to Salado Medical, for annuals, checkups, and emergencies! Dr.Quirk is so nice and so caring. My dogs can be a handful but everyone there is so sweet with them. They definitely put a personal touch on veterinary service. You won't find a more passionate and caring veterinarian/practice with unmatched bedside manners than Dr. Linda Quirk and her team at Animal Medical of Salado. She's truly doing what she does for the best care of your pets in mind and your wasting your time and money if you're going ANYWHERE else. I don't mind driving to Salado from Georgetown, while passing a few veterinarians along the way, for our dogs to get the highest standard of care available. This place is NOT the place to take your pets!!!! I went in, in hopes of finding my kittens and the Dr there was very hateful and disrespectful!! She informed me even if they were my kittens they had, that I would NOT be taking them home. Developed a huge attitude and told me these were not my kittens and refused this right to me!! The first time I met Dr. Quirk was not a happy time for me. I was forced to put down our 14.5 year old Australian Shepherd. It is never easy to do this task, but you do whats best for your pet. Dr. Quirk was kind, warm and sympathetic during the whole procedure. She was very sensitive with Rosie. She allowed her stay in the vehicle instead of forcing her to go inside the Vet clinic where she would have become upset. For this I was very grateful. And, to top off the experience, a week later we received a hand written sympathy card in the mail from her and the staff. To sum it up, the whole unpleasant situation was handled with extreme grace.
