This place is dirty and stinky. Front office staff was nice but the vet was very socially awkward and doesn’t communicate well. We took our pup in for a sick visit and bill was $300 for sick visit, stool sample, and 2 antibiotics. We took our pup in recently to St. Francis of Assisi vet and it was night and day. Clean facility that doesn’t stink. Vet with good communication skills. Spent $300 as well but it was much better bang for our buck - sick visit, heartworm test, 6mo heartworm preventative, all the shots, and two medications. There are definitely better places out there.

Horrible. My husband, who has not experienced vet care, took our Boxer in for an allery/skin irritation and left with a $344. Bill. No diagnosis, a ton of meds and 2 weeks later the irritation came back. Total rip off. Worst experience, no remedy, back to square one and out $344.

Dr. Vara and her team are exceptional caretakers. As a child, my parents took our dogs to Bandera Road Animal Hospital, and when I took my dog there, she remembered my favorite dog and even had a story. The prices are MUCH better than our old vet and the advice for treatment is practical and doable. Highly recommend!

I have utilized Dr. Vara as my family's Veterinarian , since she opened her practice. Over the years ( almost 3 decades) she has consistently provided to all of my furry family members, the best vet care possible. Combined with the loving care my fur babies receive at home, they have all lived , in the best possible health, past their breed expected lifetimes. I am the proud parent of 4 rescued dogs and 2 rescued cats and would never entrust another vet for their care. I would highly recommend Dr. Vara to all that treat their pets as family.
