I took my missy to pavlovs to get her spayed. When we got her back the next day, she was stumbling around the house as if she had gone blind. And, when the medication wore off. She was really mean. She attacked everyone. And, that was not normal. She's always been lovable towards us. We weaned her and she knows us as her parents. She never acted out like that. We also had to go back to get her a cone. Why couldn't they give it to us when we were there? When we called to ask about what happened to her there, a technician called back and yelled at us for daring to speak on our missy's behalf. I will never bring her back. Please, if your pet has been harmed consult the veterinary board. Help us shut this place down. Read Less

This Veterinary Clinic is not about a fancy location with awesome decor. They are 100% there for your fur baby. Our sweet Chloe at 18 years old and they helped me make the final decision when they examined her, she dropped weight from 125lbs down to 42lbs, she was lethargic and just gave me the look of it is time. They didn't rush me & my son, they let us stay with her as long as we needed. My 2 girls both rescue fur babies have been seen over the past 8 years. Fiesty & Fergie. They helped with my decision to have them declawed. The care they gave Fiesty when she had an intestinal infection. When my neighbor found fergie on the side of the road, she weighed 2 oz at 3 weeks old, they gave me encouragement & knowlege I needed to help her survive. They dicovered her double heart murmur, explaining it would be best to wait until she was a year old before we had her fixed & declawed. They did a wonderful job with my daughters 2 cats, Rainbow & Star... grandaughter named both of the boys. This latest visit was after my Fur-granddaughter became sick and was taken to their vet for urgent care. My kids were told it would cost $1000-1500 to give proper diagnosis, that was on top of the $350 bill. They are young kids just starting out & couldn't afford that. I offered to take Precious to my vet, got an appointment for the next day. We got the records from the other office, they decided to do an exray & extensive blood work, steroid & antibiotic injections. Also sent us home with both in pill form. We got phone calls asking how she was that evening & the next morning. Im happy to report our 8 year old fur baby is back to her normal self. They tools great care of my dog Sampson. They treated and cured a long standing infection, took care of his terrible scratching with an allergy medication and then they removed 3 fatty tumors from him 2 of which they called during the surgery and said they found and would take out for the same cost estimate as only the one. We have been long time customers of this Vet, with numerous family dogs. Over the years I think we have brought (6) dogs total. We have always found the Vet to go above and beyond as she explains health of our pups and takes time to know us and our animals. When illness or difficult things arose, she provided great care. While the facility is not new or fancy, the professional care and service of the Veterinarian and her staff over the years has provided great comfort to us. I am an ex-employee (technician) who worked at Pavlov's for about 3 days which was the longest I could stand to work in a business founded on malpractice and negligence. If an anesthetized animal would start to wake up during surgery, Dr. Pavlov would tell us not to increase the patients anesthesia because "he was almost done" meanwhile the cat being neutered is strapped to the table writhing in pain. To keep this review short, apply this inhumane method of thinking (profit before care) to all aspects of Pavlov's practice. I am incredibly surprised he hasn't had his license revoked but it seems more people would rather complain on Google reviews than file a formal complaint with the veterinary board. I filed one, but was told they needed proof and since he never treated my pets (thank God) and I already quit I was unable to oblige and my complaint fell on deaf ears. I bring my two dogs in to get their shots and checkups. They don't have the best customer service here I have unfortunately had to deal with some slightly rude employees but nothing too terrible. I would suggest skipping on paying for them to clip your pets nails because they don't do a very good job seeing as my dogs nails were still curving on the ground when she came back to me. But for the price it's not awful and I will continue to bring my dogs here.Read Less

This is the most unprofessional Veterinary clinic our family has experienced. Case 1. We needed a certificate to fly our dog into another country. This clinic not only failed to fill it out properly, but were told at customs in Mexico that it was as if we showed up with nothing. The lady taking care of us at this clinic nonchalantly filled out the form. While looking at an example posted on the wall....This made us stay in customs for 2 hours!! We flew in at 11pm so we couldn't leave until 1AM! A government Vet had to show up and give our dog an exam at the airport. Then ofcourse we paid for that. after confronting "Pavlov's" about this, the first call got us no where.. The associate said he couldn't help us, and that the manager would be in the next day. Then the manager called us to tell us she couldn't help us, because the owners weren't there! On day 3! The owners communicated through the manager to us, no contact what so ever with the owner. Then told us basically, that customs was wrong and they were right. Wouldn't refund us $55 dollars, instead giving us a store credit. Not that we are going back! CASE 2. My family dog which has been with us for almost a decade. My father took our dog to this clinic for most of his life. Then after some time he began to fall ill. This clinic took X-rays, and found that he had arthritis in his paw. We felt that might not be all, because our dog was in much more pain. After using this clinic for so long, we just weren't getting too many answers from them. So once our dog couldn't stand anymore, on his Hine legs, we took him to a REAL HOSPITAL. This Hospital then requested all documents from Pavlov's, which they sent excluding their X-rays. Why is that?? Well this hospital took X-rays, and gave us a whole other story. And stated that if we had found out sooner what was really going on we could have saved our dog! Pavlov's new they didn't know what they were looking at! This clinic KILLED OUR DOG. Came in because my dog had eaten something that he couldn't pass and my regular vet was booked through and I needed an consult quickly to see if he would need it removed or if he would be able to deal with it on his own. Came in, had an hour and half wait only for them to take him out of my sight without explaining what they were doing (was told after they were weighing and checking his gums) only for them to feel around his belly and tell me that he'll need an x-ray (which would require sedation) and got snippy and rude when we were asking more questions about the necessity and if it would be safe for him (he's still fairly young), then was told I would need to bring him in the next day and have to pay a $50 drop off fee just for him to be there for an x-ray, where he would not be staying for an extended period of time, and could simply be in and out if they would have just scheduled a concrete time for his x-ray. All around the whole experience set me ill at ease and I didn't trust them to simply take him through surgery without telling me if I'd dropped him off. In comparison, once my regular vet could see me, he said that he had likely already passed the object and that an x-ray would only be if he was in a much more serious condition. I've been going to Dr Pavlov for years.  Today I arrive about 25 min early, door locked! Note says closed till 12pm for a staff meeting.  Phones off the hook.  Finally get in around 12:55 my daughter takes in a dog I'm in the truck with the other.  I finally go in at 1:20 thinking they forgot there are two of them.  Dr Peter's starts talking about ear meds. She's undoubtedly confused.  I say they are not for him they are for my other dog that has ear problems.  Finally stops fumbling through the chart & gets the shot & bordatella, but before she gives it to him she asks which dog is getting the bordatella.  Really!  I said both.  She says they don't have but one dose.  Are you kidding me!  We finally just tell her to give it to Dodger.  Go up to pay & ask why they don't have enough bordatella.  We must have run out!  Really!  You make an appt for a dog but you don't have it.  This other girl (sitting with her feet in her chair eating lunch) just shrugs her shoulders.  It's ok you can come back when we get it.  I ask when my dogs are being boarded & they have to have their bordatella.  It should be in by Friday.  I tell them I'll drop by on the way to the kennel on Friday!  This might very well be my last visit!  You don't just decide to shut down in the middle of the day & take your phone off the hook!!!  And since when is bordatella in such great demand you run out & don't bother to call the customer & let them know!!!  Thank goodness my little one just had her teeth cleaned at another vet.  I call, no problem the vets not in but the nurse is here & can give it to her.  We're not at all busy come on over.  So we did.  Drove over, got in out & pd in less than 5 minutes.  It just might be time to move!!! Horrible experience here! I walked in to schedule my dog to be groomed and the receptionist was very unpleasant and not welcoming at all! The day I brought my dog in to be groomed, they were very unorganized and the check in process took almost 30 minutes! The groomer asked me how short I wanted my dogs hair cut. I showed her on the sample board provided. But I was LIVID when I picked up my dog!!!! My dog Precious is a Maltese but now she looks like a rat!!! Her hair was completely shaved off!! Then to top it off she charged me $65 because she said Precious was hard to handle! Give me a break...your a groomer and you can't handle a sweet 5 lb dog?? But the worse thing that happened is that when I bathed my dog a week later she had fleas!!! My dog has never had fleas so she had to get them from Pavlovs!! I am absolutely outraged! I have been going to Pavlov's since the clinic opened.  They have seen and treated many of my dogs and cats, from babyhood to their final breath.  I have recently been going to their clinic frequently, as my Australian Shepherd was diagnosed with osteosarcoma back in February. Dr. Peters and Dr. Pavlov and all their staff were very helpful with Missy's palliative care.  They took care to find the best mix of painkiller and anti-inflammatory medicines, to ease Missy's discomfort.   They even worked with me on price to try laser therapy, which happily DID work and gave Missy a few more pain free months with us. This vet is cheaper then most but you definitely get what you pay for in terms of  cheaper horrible customer service, and you run the risk of having the wrong tortuous procedure proformed on your animal. They even went so far as to blame me for thier mistake and charged me more then I was quoted to have the correct procedure preformed. You are taking a huge chance with your animal taking them here.My mom had been going to this Vet for 20 years. So despite all the negative reviews I  took my 1 1/2 year old poode here to get neutered and have his due claws removed. When scheduling the appointment the front desk lady said ok you would like him declawed. I then informed her he is a dog and you dont "declaw dogs" I asked for the pricing after correcting her  3 more times on the due claws and evening describing them to her because it was obvious she had no idea about what due claws are.My dog was dropped off for his procedure. I thought all was well. I then picked up my dog and the technician made some smart remark about him not needing "show nails" I had no idea what she was talking about. Come to find out instead of removing his due claws they gave him "show nails" they grinded his poor toenails down to the the pads of his feet. He could not walk for three days. I was very ulset that they did this causing him undue pain. They said they wouldnt charge me for the procedure that I didn't  ask for. And they would go back next month to remove his due claws that are hanging. I was not happy that they were going to charge me an additional $60 then what I was orginaly quoted for thier mistake.But he needed it done so what could I do.So I waited a month and brough him in for the procedure. I arrived they did not have him on the schedule when I scheduled in person a month ago. They then  called and said it was an additional charge if I wanted all four removed. Even though I was quoted a price for all four orginally. I told them because of thier mistake they should do all four. They then informed  that they will do it but I need to find another vet after this! At no time did I yell or was rude to them. I just wanted them to rectify what they did. But the contiued to blame me for thier mistake.I spoke with doctor and he informed he was not making any money and yes I need to go somewhere  else. They blamed me for the mistake because i did not right neutered and due claw removal on the pre op  sheet. But i also did not write show nail down! So good luck going here. Dr. P. and his staff and the other vets have always done their best to balance best practices with cost, and the severity of the issue at hand. They've referred me to specialists when necessary, and they've consulted me on my options when there were options to offer. Highly recommended. An honest assessment and proper diagnosis. I had to put my dog to sleep, and that was better than draining my bank account in an effort to prolong his life, which he would have suffered through, and eventually died from his liver disease. Took my dog for seizures and stressed I could not afford all the research it would entail. He did test after test, diagnosed my 10 year old dog with a virus more common in puppies. He knew along with his staff knew I was not able to afford all this work. $300.00 later he recommended I take her to the vet hospital for over night observation not telling me I would need to pick her up a 8 am and no info on what would happen after that. The vet at the hospital was shocked at what Pavlov Md diagnosed my dog with and said it was highly unlikely that was the virus. Got my dog back from Pavlov all doped up he said he needed to double dose her on sedative and now can't eat or drink properly. Will never take my pets there again. What sad is he is also very hard to understand and not complete on his sentences. Pavlov would walk in mumble and walk out still mumbling not finishing what he was saying. I have been a longstanding client with several pets and no payment issues EVER, when one of my pets had another issue that required surgery i requested to pay over 60% at the time of surgery and remaining balance with a check i would leave with them to finish paying in less than 2 weeks and it was unacceptable to Dr. Pavlov . I am very displeased and will be switching vets. I could understand if I was a client with payment issues, I feel I'm paying the price for other clients. He really should cater more to the great clients , they are loosing one today !!!! Read Less

We have been very pleased with the medical care we have received for our 4 dogs. The Doctors are wonderful & compassionate. CAUTION: we recently had two dogs groomed there. Very unhappy with the haircut! They shaved our dog & ended abruptly at the back of the head. Our dog looks like Moe from the Stooges in the back. I agree wholeheartedly that care should not be compromised, we have been taking our dogs to Dr. Pavlov's for over 15yrs. Two of our dogs had past at the ages of 13 and 15 respectfully, they had the best care and were treated with the upmost respect when we had them put down due to their very poor health. I will say this, without authorization Dr. Pavlov is the only Dr. who is authorized to treat our other dogs. Although when Dr. Pavlov was on vacation our dogs were seen by a veterinarian who is also a teaching veterinarian I don't remember her name but she was very respectful and caring which reflects the same demeanor Dr. Pavlov demonstrates. What I would causation against, Pavlov's Dog & Cat Hospital is technically a veterinarian hospital but it is also a business, I hope the staff and Dr. Pavlov insure total customer service is addressed at all times, even when things tend to get busy and hectic. I would highly recommend Dr. Pavlov's, remember people things happen, it takes great communication from both parties to ensure the best results in your pets care. Pavlov's Hospital is great, I've never had a bad experience here. We take my dog here for his regular vaccine shots, check-ups, and dog grooming. The vets vet techs are very helpful. Grooming does go by appointment only and fills up fast. Pet boarding is very inexpensive ($9 a night) of course it goes by dog weight and they feed, and give dogs walks. If you are thinking about boarding your pet especially during holidays I would book a few weeks in advance as they do get full. Read Less

Dr.Pavlov is awful!! He gave my English Bulldog pup steroid medication for a wound my dog had, without even testing samples of the wound to see exactly what it was. Ended up being something that steroids caused to go CRAZY and had to take him to the ER vet that same night because he itched himself raw and bloody due to the steroid medication. The next day we called to talk to Dr.Pavlov and all he did was offer us a free bath for our trouble. He didnt care one bit that he gave out the wrong medication! The ER vet knew RIGHT AWAY from just looking at it what the skin condition was, and his testing confirmed it. I would stay FAR away from this uncaring vet!! Read Less

These people are ridiculous! I have a full blooded Great Dane puppy who is incredibly healthy but got a bit of a stomach ache a few weeks ago which concerned us. So we took her to Pavlos'. They proceeded to run $215.00 worth of tests on our 5 month old puppy and then tried to tell us that she had hepatits of the liver!! They also tried to put her on 5 different medications and I was able to get them to limit it down to 2 with a bit of persistance. About a week later (because I had so much doubt on this diagnosis) I took her to a vet I value dearly in my hometown and found out she is not sick at all!! No hepatitis, no problems what so ever! I want to say I am sorry for the loss of everyone's pet. However I was one of Dr P's first employee in 1993. Heck I was only a Junior in high school and watch them remodel the place with their nephew. I will never forget what they did for me to train me from kennel, to vet tech, and last, a receptionist. Mrs Pavlov is one of the most easy going people to get along with all you have to do is ask. Dr P well he can be a little rough around the edges but he is the most dedicated doctors around. I wish I lived closer to go back. I was also with him for 3 years until I had my daughter. Remember this everyone has a bad day however give it a chance and if it works out great but they are there for your pets that are also a part of your family. I took my 12 yr old Lover-Boy dog in for pain control as he had bone cancer; he was in the last days of his life. I asked for comfort care, pain control. The very old vet who should have retired years ago, just jabbed him w/ a rabies shot which he did not need. Then, of course, I was charged for an unnecessary vaccination. I explained that all I wanted was pain control med for my boy, but he was more concerned about the rabies shot...on a dog who did not leave the house. I have not been back. They said they would have Dr Pavlov call me; I never heard from him. Just five short days later, I had to take him to the Pet ER for euthanasia. I told the vet there about the rabies shot and he agreed with me: that is was totally unnecessary. I still miss my boy everyday & have since found a more compassionate vet hospital. I had been going to Pavlov's for years with multiple pets....yet, I only saw Dr P once. And yes, the female vet there cannot make up her mind about a treatment plan for care. I have been with Dr Pavlov since 1993 and I never had a problem with him whatsoever. He has always shown professionalism and compassion for my pets. He has an open door policy and by that I mean if they take my dog to the back of the office and I want to see them they will escort me back there to see them. or if my pet is skiddish about going into a kennel they will escort me to let me take them in the back and get them situated. The only two separate times I had an issue were with his other female vets. I cannot go into detail because it is such a long story but suffice it to say Dr Pavlov got rid one of the women and repremanded the other. ON both ocassions, I made an appointment to discuss these matters with him and we met and he assured me that he would take care of the situation and he did!!! I think that Dr Pavlov knows that he has many lifelong clients that are and will be supportive and appreciative of his work with their pets and he respects that! In my records for all of my pets HE is the ONLY vet who is allowed to service them. I have taken my pets to other places to check them out because i moved to a different side of town and Dr P. office was now very far away but I can assure you from what I have seen that Dr Pavlov has a wonderful facility and cares about the animals and people who come into his business! I make the long drive because I feel comfortable there and know my pets will be treated well. Thank you Dr Pavlov for caring for my pets for the past 18 years.
