After proving to the staff that my dogs had their preventative medications, the staff refused to administer the medications because we hadn’t bought it from them so they couldn’t verify that the dogs had been receiving continual prevention. Upon arrival at the office, I showed the staff member at the desk the box of medication, which has the date of purchase on it and they accepted the medication as proof of care. When I went to pick up my dogs, they refused to return them to me until they allowed the vet to berate me about this situation. They held my dogs hostage until I was lectured by the vet about the medications. Furthermore, the didn’t even administer the medications that I had provided. It’s hypocritical to berate a customer about administering medication to their pet and yet not doing it themselves and saying that they do everything possible to prevent outbreak in their kennels. They don’t care about your pets, they care about their wallets. Read Less

We are recent transplants to San Antonio, and we first picked Spring Creek because of the proximity to our home. We had 5 furbabies, 2 of our furbabies were getting up in years. While yes veterinary care is expensive, Dr. Youngblood provides you with an estimate before proceeding and lets you make the decision as to how far you go with treatment. She educates you on ALL the options as these 4 legged kids are the most precious things in our home. Recently we had to make by far the hardest decision to say goodbye to our Gretta, our 14 1/2 year old lab. Her brain quit talking to her back legs. While her heart was there and she was not in pain, Dr. Youngblood was extremely sympathetic and gave us our options. She supported our ultimate decision and let us spend all the time we needed with our girl. We all sat on the floor with her including Dr. Youngblood and was very compassionate to the end and after. AND then her she and her staff made a donation to Texas A&M to a fund to help other pet owners in getting treatment that they may need for their babies rather then euthanizing them, in our Gretta's name. What a GREAT team I highly recommend them. Read Less

I've been using Spring Creek reluctantly for the past ten years. They are good, but my dog's medical bills for the past ten years have been MUCH more than my family's human medical bills for the past ten years, and I broke my wrist in 2005, along with some monthly required medications. Once, I dropped my dog off for boarding and she was due all her amazingly expensive shots, etc. So, they gave her all her shots, while I was on vacation. When I returned, they wouldn't let me pick up my dog until I talked to a vet (her annual checkup and consultation time to which I paid heavily for even though I really didn't ask for it or want it). So, instead of just picking up my dog, I got to sit in a room for an hour waiting to hear about all the additional things they wanted to do to my dog and how much more expensive it was going to be. Youngblood is a good, but get ready to pay some bucks on your pet. Now, instead of waiting to give me the guilt treatment on how I have neglected my dog's shots when I go to visit them (usually once a year), they are now calling me on a weekly basis to remind me that I am neglecting my dogs shots. To me, this means I need to find a new vet. I am a human being, and as long as everything is working on my body, I don't go visit my doctor but maybe once a year to make sure everything is still functioning in the right manner. I don't see any reason why my dog needs to go in to the vet more often than I do. For the most part, she stays inside an air conditioned home most of the day, hardly gets out of the house long enough to do her business and comes back in. And for this, she needs multitudes of shots throughout the year, and treatments, et. al. Something needs to change. These veterinarians have figured out how to make serious money off of us animal lovers. I may be in store for a life change and stop getting pets after this one goes. From what I can tell, she is healthy and happy (even though Spring Creek would probably tell you she needs about $500 worth of shots and things done to her). Read Less
