Years ago my green cheeck conure broke its leg and they put a little bird style cast and he healed up nicely thanks to them they are the best.
Also I would take him in every few weeks for a beak trim he would always let it grow crooked and they would fix him up fast ..
I miss that bird so much his name was black dog lol.
And now we adopted a new b.g macaw we already made our first appointment
We will only use this vet for our birds we moved further away but we will travel here as we do trust this office .

Dr. Powers and the staff are friendly and very accommodating in my experience. Dr. Powers takes time with me when I bring my pets in if there is an issue or health concern. I have and will continue to recommend this vet to family and friends.

Doctor prescribes my 5 year old cat, with a chronic painful urinary issue, a human strength psychotropic drug then a couple days later tells me the "drug has not been approved for use in cats". This drug seemed to have fundamentally changed my cat. Took away his ability to function. Took away his appetite. Took away his desire to drink water. He can barely move. So, instead of getting over his most recent bout of the urinary issue he is now instead clinging to life. I'm amazed that this vet has not been sued into oblivion already.
**UPDATE**
My cat just went into cardiac arrest at a local emergency clinic. Thankfully they were able to quickly revive him. It appears he was blocked and Dr. Powers missed this. Even though I was charged a $50 examination fee just 4 days ago.
Stay the hell away from this vet.

Dr. Powers came highly recommended to me by a co-worker and I have stayed with Ten West Clinic for over 7 years. I now have 2 papillons, and have been through numerous ailments and a couple knee surgeries with my older dog. Dr. Powers and her staff are deeply compassionate and educated about their profession and give you the best quality of care possible. The prices are reasonable, but it is the quality of their care and compassion that far exceeds my expectations. Whenever I have had a serious ailment with one of my pets, they have seen us in a timely manner and they always follow-up with you to make sure your pet is doing better the next day. They are also open late and on Saturdays, which is very convenient for those who work during the week. I plan to stay with Ten West for the life of my pets!

I found TenWest on the internet after frantically searching for an exotic vet. We had a sick hamster with "wet tail". An appt was easily made for the following day. Dr Powers and her staff were very kind and professional. I felt awkward at first, bringing a hamster to see the vet, but they were gentle with her. Treatment cost was very reasonable. I received a follow up call a few days later. Thank you.I would definitely recommend TenWest and Dr Powers.Addendum: Unfortunately, our sweet hamster did not overcome her illness. We received a lovely sympathy card from Dr Powers and staff. We really appreciate the gesture.

Was looking for a Veterinarian that cared for reptiles and lizards, and found this hospital on-line. To make a long story short, a little fence lizard appeared to my doorstep late last year, and I figured I would care for him during the winter. He was doing well, until February, so I needed to get the little fellow checked out before I could release him. So I packed him up and we make the trip to 10 West Bird & Animal Hospital. The Veterinarian there is Dr. Powers, and she is just great! She took one look at Louie (the lizard) and printed a whole bunch of literature on him and gave tons of suggestions for his home. She also started him on antibiotic shots, she showed how to give Louie the shots (never had done that before). And the surprising thing, that about a week later, her office called to check on Louie, which for me was so nice.I'm glad to report that Louie is doing fine.

Dr. Powers has been treating my dogs for the past 6 years. She and her staff have been very professional and up front with cost and treatment of my pets. I just recently had to put down my dog Tabitha who was 14 - 15 years old and it was the best experience ever know that she was going to be out of pain. Dr. Powers talked me and my family through the whole process and upon leaving the office, the staff advised me that they would call me when my dogs remains were back and that I could settle the bill at that time. This was great. Who wants to worry about a bill when you have just lost your best friend. I don't care what anyone says about the staff or Dr. Powers, I feel she is an awesome doctor and I would and will continue to have my best treated with her. Thank you Dr. Powers and staff. We love you!

He has allergies and kept getting sick with the different foods he was trying. Dr. Powers and her staff worked with us to help him figure out what was best for his system. DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT, take your animals to this vet. Dr. Powers is a quack!!!!!! She misdiagnosed my dog not once but 3 times. My dog was sick and as a result infecting other dogs and people. I ended up taking my dog to another vet and right away he was in shock at the poor care I had received from Dr. Powers. Everything she did was Wrong, the testing, treatment, diagnosis, everything. And as if that wasn't bad enough my dog had a hernia and I was told it was her sternum. My dog needed surgery and would have died had I not got her proper medical treatment. When I went in to talk to Dr. Powers her staff threw me out!!! She shouldn't even be allowed to practice!!

After looking around online for a vet clinic, I decided to go here because of the review I found and because of a picture I saw of one of the exam rooms. The room looked so much more comfortable than other clinics I have visited, and my cat was very ill, so I wanted him to be as comfy as possible. It was very easy to schedule an appointment and they close later than most vet clinics do. The prices are reasonable and the service is superb. The staff was very friendly and personable- they knew me and my cat by name after just the first visit! Dr. Powers is also very friendly and very knowledgeable. Throughout a difficult time I was having, she was very honest yet sensitive to the situation. I couldn't have asked for anything better in my pet's time of need. I highly recommend Ten West!

I brought my cat in to get his shots updated. The staff was very warm, the atmosphere was very calming. It's very family friendly, there were children and pets everywhere, the staff was very nice, the doctor got us in, did an exam, boosted all my cat's shots, suggested some good food for my cat, and got us out. The prices are fair and they don't try to push unnecessary exams or shots or tests on you. I love this place.

I brought my cat to Ten West mainly because it was recommended here on citysearch, it was close to my Aunt's house I was staying at, and it was open late enough 7pm. Two days later I went to pick Tasha my fiesty calico up at 7am, and she was throwing a fit. She was hissing, spitting, screaming at the top of her lungs as she has done on occasional visits to the vet. The tech that was attempting to help get her into her pet carrier was being a real trooper. I was so embarassed by my cat overreacting, but the tech made it less awkward and eventually, 45 minutes later, we got my cat into her carrier. I highly recommend this animal hospital simply on the frendliness of the staff and how helpful they are.

Also I would take him in every few weeks for a beak trim he would always let it grow crooked and they would fix him up fast ..
I miss that bird so much his name was black dog lol.
And now we adopted a new b.g macaw we already made our first appointment
We will only use this vet for our birds we moved further away but we will travel here as we do trust this office .

Doctor prescribes my 5 year old cat, with a chronic painful urinary issue, a human strength psychotropic drug then a couple days later tells me the "drug has not been approved for use in cats". This drug seemed to have fundamentally changed my cat. Took away his ability to function. Took away his appetite. Took away his desire to drink water. He can barely move. So, instead of getting over his most recent bout of the urinary issue he is now instead clinging to life. I'm amazed that this vet has not been sued into oblivion already.
**UPDATE**
My cat just went into cardiac arrest at a local emergency clinic. Thankfully they were able to quickly revive him. It appears he was blocked and Dr. Powers missed this. Even though I was charged a $50 examination fee just 4 days ago.
Stay the hell away from this vet.

Dr. Powers came highly recommended to me by a co-worker and I have stayed with Ten West Clinic for over 7 years. I now have 2 papillons, and have been through numerous ailments and a couple knee surgeries with my older dog. Dr. Powers and her staff are deeply compassionate and educated about their profession and give you the best quality of care possible. The prices are reasonable, but it is the quality of their care and compassion that far exceeds my expectations. Whenever I have had a serious ailment with one of my pets, they have seen us in a timely manner and they always follow-up with you to make sure your pet is doing better the next day. They are also open late and on Saturdays, which is very convenient for those who work during the week. I plan to stay with Ten West for the life of my pets!

I found TenWest on the internet after frantically searching for an exotic vet. We had a sick hamster with "wet tail". An appt was easily made for the following day. Dr Powers and her staff were very kind and professional. I felt awkward at first, bringing a hamster to see the vet, but they were gentle with her. Treatment cost was very reasonable. I received a follow up call a few days later. Thank you.I would definitely recommend TenWest and Dr Powers.Addendum: Unfortunately, our sweet hamster did not overcome her illness. Was looking for a Veterinarian that cared for reptiles and lizards, and found this hospital on-line. To make a long story short, a little fence lizard appeared to my doorstep late last year, and I figured I would care for him during the winter. He was doing well, until February, so I needed to get the little fellow checked out before I could release him. So I packed him up and we make the trip to 10 West Bird & Animal Hospital. The Veterinarian there is Dr. Powers, and she is just great! She took one look at Louie (the lizard) and printed a whole bunch of literature on him and gave tons of suggestions for his home. She also started him on antibiotic shots, she showed how to give Louie the shots (never had done that before). And the surprising thing, that about a week later, her office called to check on Louie, which for me was so nice.I'm glad to report that Louie is doing fine.

Dr. Powers has been treating my dogs for the past 6 years. She and her staff have been very professional and up front with cost and treatment of my pets. I just recently had to put down my dog Tabitha who was 14 - 15 years old and it was the best experience ever know that she was going to be out of pain. Dr. Powers talked me and my family through the whole process and upon leaving the office, the staff advised me that they would call me when my dogs remains were back and that I could settle the bill at that time. This was great. Who wants to worry about a bill when you have just lost your best friend. I don't care what anyone says about the staff or Dr. Powers, I feel she is an awesome doctor and I would and will continue to have my best treated with her. Thank you Dr. Powers and staff. We love you!

He has allergies and kept getting sick with the different foods he was trying. Dr. Powers and her staff worked with us to help him figure out what was best for his system. Her staff has been fantastic with any of my concerns and worries as well as with the care of my pets. They call the next day after an office visit to check up on my pet's well being. Excellent care. DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT, take your animals to this vet. Dr. Powers is a quack!!!!!! She misdiagnosed my dog not once but 3 times. My dog was sick and as a result infecting other dogs and people. I ended up taking my dog to another vet and right away he was in shock at the poor care I had received from Dr. Powers. Everything she did was Wrong, the testing, treatment, diagnosis, everything. And as if that wasn't bad enough my dog had a hernia and I was told it was her sternum. My dog needed surgery and would have died had I not got her proper medical treatment. When I went in to talk to Dr. Powers her staff threw me out!!! She shouldn't even be allowed to practice!!

After looking around online for a vet clinic, I decided to go here because of the review I found and because of a picture I saw of one of the exam rooms. The room looked so much more comfortable than other clinics I have visited, and my cat was very ill, so I wanted him to be as comfy as possible. It was very easy to schedule an appointment and they close later than most vet clinics do. The prices are reasonable and the service is superb. The staff was very friendly and personable- they knew me and my cat by name after just the first visit! Dr. Powers is also very friendly and very knowledgeable. Throughout a difficult time I was having, she was very honest yet sensitive to the situation. I couldn't have asked for anything better in my pet's time of need. I highly recommend Ten West!

I brought my cat in to get his shots updated. The staff was very warm, the atmosphere was very calming. It's very family friendly, there were children and pets everywhere, the staff was very nice, the doctor got us in, did an exam, boosted all my cat's shots, suggested some good food for my cat, and got us out. The prices are fair and they don't try to push unnecessary exams or shots or tests on you. I love this place.

I brought my cat to Ten West mainly because it was recommended here on citysearch, it was close to my Aunt's house I was staying at, and it was open late enough 7pm. Two days later I went to pick Tasha my fiesty calico up at 7am, and she was throwing a fit. She was hissing, spitting, screaming at the top of her lungs as she has done on occasional visits to the vet. The tech that was attempting to help get her into her pet carrier was being a real trooper. I was so embarassed by my cat overreacting, but the tech made it less awkward and eventually, 45 minutes later, we got my cat into her carrier. I highly recommend this animal hospital simply on the frendliness of the staff and how helpful they are.
